Always a good experience at this restaurant. So glad that we can dine inside again!
Yesterday we dined here inside (greatCOVID safety precautions), and we found the grilled salmon and Sea bass (Corvina) and the service to be excellent. But, because it was our first indoor dining experience in a year, we held back our opinion. Tonight we had what the restaurant modestly called seafood pasta. As you know, most joints serve you a heaping bowl of pasta with a little bit of mediocre seafood dribbled in. This dish was a heaping mound of perfectly cooked shrimp, scallops, cherry stone clams, and salmon in a delicious lemony, creamy, tomato and caper sauce, with a small amount of linguini added. I thought it was silly they added sourdough bread until I tasted that sauce. Then I wanted to sop up every drop. I have literally had seafood on five continents and several pacific islands, and this dish is right at the top.
Wonderful attention on my birthday! Friendly service, beautiful view and excellent food. A surprise dessert was a bonus!!
The view was magnificent. We had a corner table. I had the lamb chops, which were delicious. My husband had the steak and scampi, equally delicious.
The service was great, the view was beautiful, but the food was disappointing. I don’t want to give a bad review, especially at this time when restaurants are struggling to stay open after the shutdowns, but the entire meal, with the exception of the chicken, was mediocre at best. The chowder was all butter and cream with no clams or flavor. A house salad with ranch was watery and tasteless. A grilled artichoke that was undercooked and tasteless..... I want to reiterate that the service is excellent.
Nice atmosphere, servers nice and attentive. May seem like a “tourist” only place, but the food was very good and it’s always enjoyable to eat by the water. Nice menu, good choices.
Try it out
Great location overlooking the ocean. We arrived and made it in time for the Sunset menu. The menu was a fantastic value. The wine list is limited. Our service was a bit slow and the server could use some education on it. It was the only thing to complain about. The location made dinner fantastic.
As a set reservation at an expensive, “impressive” place, i expected care and kindness and didn’t get such. The host was very kind and warm. We were sat in a wobbly corner table, very uncomfortable and too small for me and my date. Waitress started off cold and didn’t ID us for the drinks we ordered. My food was sent out raw and flavorless. By the time i got the waitress’ attention both mine and my date’s food was cold, which was really just a management issue because there was one waitress for about 16-20 people. We were there an hour and 30 minutes and I took one bite of my 116 dollar meal, before going home. The blood orange mule was good though. Very poor experience. Will not be attending again. I was actually shocked i still had to pay for my meal. It was a very special occasion, ruined.
Each item we ordered had an issue. Artichoke undercooked. MaiTai too much alcohol. Veggies on the salmon plate were nearly raw. Beef on the stroganoff was chewy and the noodles were stuck in layers and chewy. Waitress was super efficient and if it wasn’t so late we may have accepted new plates of food... but we were ready to be gone by then. Super nice atmosphere... too bad the food was off.
Beautiful views of Lovers Point.Nice ambience great food and service.
Always the first place we go when we are in the area.
Amazing views and great food!
Love having dinner again at the Beach House! Always a good meal and great views.
They have a great early bird dinner from 4-5:30 nice choices and plenty to eat and a beautiful view
We had the option to sit inside or out and felt safe inside by the window with an incredible view.
Whenever we come to Pacific Grove we love going to the beach house for dinner. The food is excellent! Great service and nice ambience.
I almost forgot what a treasure the Beach House is. We went on a perfect day for a perfect view. We each got the early bird special of sand dabs and they were lovely. We hope to be returning soon.
Celebrated our anniversary and had an amazing experience! Host got us a window seat, Axel gave us a warm welcoming, Regina made outstanding drinks, and Brian was an attentive and fun server. The whole staff was great and our food was amazing!
As a local, a favorite restaurant. Good food, service & value.
I love this place. The view, service, and food were fabulous.
So nice to eat indoors once more like a normal human being! Sunset menu was fantastic once more, and our experience was excellent!
We took advantage of the Sunset Specials. I had a cup of the chowder which was excellent. Warm bread and butter accompanied the soup. I also had a glass of a wonderful Rose wine.
My friend ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf which came with baby carrots and smashed Yukon Gold potatoes. I ordered the Grilled Salmon filet which came with risotto, creamed spinach and a beurre blanc sauce. All was delicious.
Highly recommended. We will definitely return.
The beef stroganoff was unlike any I'd ever had before. Delicious!!
We had a relaxing dinner at your restaurant.
The service was excellent. We enjoyed our foods.
We will come back again .
My husband and I had never stayed in Pacific Grove—our first time. A friend recommended Beach House and it was so good! The service, ambiance, and food was outstanding—LOVED THE BREAD! My only disappointment was not being able to see the sunset while dining. Next time we’ll plan to sit outside...definitely there will be a next time!
Found a hair in our cioppino. Filet minon was overcooked and garnish was messy. Waiter was extremely welcoming and of great service
All about quantity but very poor quality.
Dishes we picked were very heavy and tasteless.
Our reservation was at 5:30 and had to wait outside during a cold windy evening for 30 minutes.
We were there for a birthday celebration. Fantastic evening. Bryan our waiter was fantastic! Really made the birthday boy (60th bday) feel special!!
Been here many times. Beef stroganoff too sweet, artichoke appetizer so so. Also prices on line were different then on the menu.
Always so happy to enjoy a meal at BH with great service and great staff!
Went there to celebrate my dad’s birthday and had a very pleasant experience!
This place has great food a GORGEOUS VIEW and great service
It is one of my favorite restaurants in the Monterey area. Will be back!
We arrived at the restaurant for our reservation and I had requested a patio table. In a rude tone he said “I see you requested a patio table, but it’s going to be an hour” I asked what a reservation was for. He explained it only gets you a table but not what you request. I totally understand this concept but I felt the manner in which he spoke to me was not professional or courteous. We then sat out front where wind blew so hard that stuff flew in our drinks. It’s not worth $200 for 4 people when one person didn’t even get a main course.
As per their usual, their food is excellent. We go for the early seating, the menu is limited but the value is amazing. Maybe a little noisier than normal this time, but a definite repeat for us. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary about 6 weeks late due to covid. We were limited to drive thru at In-N-Out for our actual anniversary!
We live on the "other side of the bay" and LOVE to drive over to Lover's Point and eat at The Beach House. Food is fantastic!!! unbelievable value, service & views stupendous!
We love this restaurant. They offer early dining menu. Offer good service. And the food is amazing.
We made a reservation for 5:30 and we were seated curbside (next to busy street) instead of on the patio/porch. Zero ambience. The food was fine—nothing special and tourist pricey but we were very disappointed with the surroundings. Had I known that we wouldn’t be seated on their patio, I would have made other plans. The wait staff was excellent, however. They were attentive and upbeat.
Great views, excellent service and can't beat the Sunset Dinner prices!!!
