Great location. Staff was warm and friendly. Kids' menu needs some work. Macaroni and cheese was pretty weak, a thin alfredo sauce for cheese sauce on macaroni and cheese for a 3-year-old is heresy. We did our part and she didn't cry, too much. Her 21-month-old sister looked at the macaroni and cheese with a disapproving eye, pretty much. Chedda makes mac and cheese bedda. Chicken salad would be improved with warm/hot rather than cold chicken. Some of meat (burger) and fish (cod) had dry and spongy texture of frozen food which is pretty standard at restaurants. Glad to see other families in the restaurant. Great to walk on the pier after dinner and dip the kids' toes and legs into the lake. We'll go back for sure.
Very loud. Very limited menu. Pricey. Not what it used to be. Won't be going back.
Friendly, Professional Staff. Noticed good team work amongst servers to ensure customer satisfaction. Food is of good quality and very nice preparation. Fish and Chips were delicious; and my friend loved the wings he took home for a later treat.
I had not been to the café for awhile and must say I was very disappointed. My meal was barely fair as was the meal of the person i was dining with. It was expensive and not good. I did like the Arnold Palmer.
Sitting outside at the Beach Cafe on a sunny day can't be beat. The ambiance is perfect, the view stunning. The menu has something for everyone, with great food and great cocktails. We were there for Mother's Day, and the service was remarkably slow. Not sure whether they need to hire more help or aniticipate crowds on sunny days or what, but it can ruin a special occasion when you have to wait 90 minutes for your food.
Arrived on time for reservation for two of us to celebrate Mothers' Day. Hostess could not find the reservation. We asked to be seated in bar. We were greeted promptly and received our soft drinks. Placed our order when receiving the drinks. The server returned three times to clarify the sub of regular fries for the waffle fries on my wife's order. The meal did not arrive for one hour. Despite repeated attempts to clarify the substitution on the fries, the orders were reversed when delivered to the table. The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed by the crowd and our meals were barely edible.
Food was ok and views were great. Service was all over the place to the point that it actually became a joke. First they couldn’t find our reservation and said they weren’t serving food, then found it a second later. They mixed up the simple orders despite the waitress saying she clearly wrote it down. Sometimes when we asked for something, it would not come. Others, multiple would show up because it had not been communicated that we received the item. Service definitely needs improvement.
Much anticipated luncheon. Was seated at a table just off the swinging doors to the kitchen Had to be asked to be moved so we could avoid the opening and shutting between waiters and waitresses. Lunch came and the fries were cold. Sent them back. Their ranch dipping sauce had so much horseradish in it, it did not taste like ranch. Received my quiche, which was delivered cold. Watched as waiters and waitresses wizzed by busy with other tables. Decided not to ask to have it warmed as everyone was super busy. Big disappointment on Mothers Day!
I normally LOVE this restaurant which is why I was so surprised by my recent experience. The service was poor from our server (the people delivering water and coffee were great), the booth was very uncomfortable for my husband who felt he was sinking into the seat, and when my food was delivered, the waitstaff went on and on about how hot the plates were but my eggs were COLD! The only thing that I can think is that our server forgot about us and so our food hung out under the heat lamps for an extended period of time.
I have continued to come here for special occasions for several years now, but will probably not do that again in the future.
This is a terrible, crowded, noisy, slow and extremely expensive place. The kitchen took 55 minutes for our food. And it was not even good. Very expensive.
Fabulous lake view, busy, excellent food, one of many visits, love this spot especially for happy hour, but anytime, really.
Always has a good selection of comfort foods, salads, and burgers. Great view of the water, get a table outside if you can. They get busy, so service can be slow- depends on server. We’ve had good and bad experiences with getting our order, drinks, and food. This last time was fine.
Food quality is always underwhelming at Beach Cafe unfortunately. Such a great location but food and service sub par
Service was a little on the slow side and bar closes at 9:30pm which I felt was a little early for a Saturday night. But food was good!
We were a bit disappointed in the menu being quite different from the previous, but found items we liked, just not what we originally came for. The Shrimp & Grits was tasty, but the sausage overpowered the dish. They could easily reduce the sausage by half and maybe add one or two more shrimp. The Chipotle Chicken Salad was flavorful and light. Avocado would be a nice addition to beef it up a bit and add the nutrients. Service was attentive and quite friendly, but they didn't pay attention to timing and what we requested. A couple of minutes after we received our Brussels sprouts appetizer they arrived with our split salad and or two entrees. We took the salads, but requested they bring the entrees after we'd had time to enjoy our appetizer and salads. They were happy to oblige, but why they brought it all at once is still a mystery. It's not logical. We do wish it were a bit quieter.
We were celebrating mothers day early. Loved the food and view, atmosphere was terrific.
We arrived for an early lunch at 11:30 AM. The hostess seated us on the side and in the back while all the window tables facing the lake were not occupied. Poor customer service.
It was an office birthday celebration. We arrived early to get a table outside for 8. We picked this restaurant for this very reason because the weather was really nice for a change. On a sunny, but cool day, we were seated in the cold shade, even though there was plenty of room on the other side in the sun for 3 tables to be put together like the setting at which they placed us. Four of us had to use their complimentary blankets. So, it completely defeated the purpose since we had no sun the entire lunch hour on a gorgeous sunny day.
2-3 people ordered the salad with goat cheese. No one had goat cheese on their salad. I mentioned it to our server, but nothing was done about it. Also, when walking out, we checked out others seated with the same salad. They had goat cheese.
One in our group barely had part of her meal and asked to have it boxed so she could finish it later. The box never returned. The server went back to check on it, but never came back with the box and didn't offer a solution.
The server was nice enough, and the food was average. Needless to say, the experience wasn't the greatest.
Mediocre food but great views. Won't go back.
The server was great and Carl had served us so well too!
Good food, very nice location. Would recommend.
I've visited The Beach Cafe once before, and both times found the restaurant to be a great place to meet up with friends - great service, view, and atmosphere. I tried the fish and chips and have to say they were just okay. They're not the traditional beer battered version, theirs are panko crusted and were a touch dry, but the fries were good ;-)
Nice quaint restaurant with a fabulous view! I had the veggie scramble and substituted fruit for the potatoes. The food was very tasty and the service was top-notch! I will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I were visiting from out of town for an anniversary party and I surprised my wife with a Birthday Lunch here... and the food was absolutely amazing! We are native Texans and by the end of our lunch we both agreed that Beach Cafe needs a Houston location. The Yarrow Burger was by far the best burger I have EVER eaten. Our afternoon was capped off with a complimentary Huckleberry Cheesecake. I give Beach Cafe six stars!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My wife had the baked gnocchi and loved it. They lost our reservation but fortunately were able to seat us on a Friday night. We also had the mezze plate which was pretty good. I had a steak ordered medium which was a little undercooked in a couple places, but came with delicious mashed potatoes.
While the food was fine, I was surprised by an unexpected surcharge. The excuse/explanation given for the additional charge was to "support the WA State minimum wage." This is bogus. Not because I don't support a healthy wage. I do. It's bogus because some business owners try to slide this in as "a fee". It's really a tax. Wages are a part of running a business. If you can't support your business within your menu prices, then raise your prices! And, let's be clear. SEATTLE has a minimum wage of $15/hour. This is a KIRKLAND restaurant. Minimum wage here is $11/hour. The Beach Cafe (or the hotel it's in, The Woodmark) is taking advantage of the Seattle press about increased minimum wage.
Waterfront view. Friendly staff. Always enjoy our great waiter Brian. Very professional, friendly, makes recommendations, attentive to our needs. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Ample parking and stamped tickets provided. I commend the chef..Great Job!!
Birthday celebration. Staff recognized the occasion with complementary dessert.
Food, service and location great. We were annoyed that we had to confirm our reservation by telephone, after receiving your confirmation of our online RSVP. Just seems unnecessary.
We just happened to make a reservation so we had something for Easter brunch and were all so happy with the meal! All the food was delicious and the service was great. We had an awesome view of the water and a great brunch. Will definitely be going back.
The Beach Cafe is a wonderful Northwest find encompassing all of the things that one would want in a quality restaurant. The friendly efficient staff, ambience, view, and great menu make this classy yet casual cafe a great place to dine for all meals. It is a favorite amongst family and friends.
The meal was good, although I augmented the salad with a different dressing which made it better. Service was initially good, but felt like we could have had more check backs.
Celebrated a family birthday here in a Saturday night. We love the changes in the menu. More gluten free options. Food was really good. We will be back
Outstanding service. We were going to a show in Seattle, and our waitress made our requested schedule right on time!! Beautiful views (as always). Food was good/excellent.
They have a diversified menu and good food. Some prices seemed pretty high but then my entree salad was only $10. Service was excellent and the view is spectacular. They have outdoor seating but not until April.
Wonderful view, nice food, good appies
Extremely slow, uncaring service. Didn't get to the food; left after 20 min. of waiting.
The waitress was great but the food a bit disappointing.
I ordered the Halibut entree . The roasted
Asparagus and polenta were very good, however I thought the halibut was pretty mediocre and very dry. Since the halibut was the highlight for me I was rather disappointed.
