Beach Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This is our go to place before Husky Games. You can have an outstanding meal and walk out to the dock and have a beautiful ride over to the stadium. Food is fabulous and everyone you encounter at the Beach Cafe knows the drill and delivers in plenty of time. Great food and always a great time. We love this place!
The restaurant experience was wonderful- great fish n chips. Finding the restaurant and therefore the closest parking area was a problem. We were unaware of the underground parking lot and we never saw a sign indicating the restaurant. The front desk at the Woodmark were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction which for us was down the stairs and through the bar.
We had a great family business meeting for three seated inside by the great looking outdoor dining deck. It was a light rain day so this was prefect with a view of sunset. Good eine and drink selection and a lovely pita, humus, olive and pepper sampler to start. My wife and I are eating vegan now and they offered a tasty, slightly spicy portabella with toast potatoes and veggies. Our son had a great grilled chicken Cobb salad which liked. There was no rush, we had the table for 2 hours on a light traffic Thursday night. Nathan was a super attentive server. A great meal, we will be back for lakeside deck dining. Under building parking was validated for 90 minutes, gates open when we left.
Went to the Beach Cafe with friends before a show. Large menu with lots of great options for lunch and dinner. The food was excellent...I recommend the Bucket o' Rings! We've had better servers, but then, we've also had worse. The view of Lake Washington is spectacular. I would definitely go again.
Booked a reservation for a business meeting. Both the table arrangements and atmosphere were not ideal for business lunch. Food was good. Service was a little on the slow side, but our waitress did a good job. I'd go back, just not maybe with the goal of talking somewhat-confidential business.
the highlight of our visit was our server Ashley who also served that night as the bartender. Despite two jobs she was an exceptional server..kind, thoughtful, friendly and really knew her stuff regarding beverages and the menu. If Ashley is on duty you are assured a splendid evening!
This place has seen its ups and downs. I'd say right now it's on a down. The food was average and nothing special. The service was terrible. We ordered a starter to share (the mezze plate) which arrived 90 seconds before our mains. Our server didn't blink an eye. I had the mahi-mahi street tacos. Two small tacos with a few tortilla chips for $16 - seems expensive. Guacamole is an extra $2. It seems they fry their own chips as several were practically raw. Our server didn't return to ask about how our meals tasted. We had a bottle of wine, she never came to the table and offered to refill our glasses. The main thing this place has going for it is the view of Lake Washington. Until the food and service both improve I recommend skipping it.
My wife and I arrived (with reservations) for Sunday breakfast at 9:00 a.m. It took 10 minutes to get a our coffee, and another 40 minutes to get our breakfast. Our waitress explained that the kitchen had fallen behind; however, the food was cold when it arrived (meaning the waitress was not promptly delivering food when it finally did come up).
Good food but it took so long to get our food.
We must have come when it was too busy for the available staff
Overhead costs are going up.
I suggest that the restaurant should raise prices when they feel the need instead of posting signs declaring a " surcharge to support higher minimum wages."
Imagine if every business did this.
I wonder if the restaurant has raised wages in turn or if this is just an excuse.
We haven't been here in a while and we like the views and food. I was disappointed by the additional $7-8 Service charge added onto the bill. When I asked my server she explained that this was because of the $15 minimum wage. She stated that none of this went directly to the servers. I'd prefer they raise their prices a dollar per menu item rather then add on a service charge based on a percentage of the bill.
I've been to the Beach Cafe quite a number of times now and they are consistent. If you're looking for a basic sandwich or that typical NW plate of Salmon they'll do fine. I do think though that they need to change up the menu a bit - gotten a bit tired of the same ol' . .. just saying.
The weather was perfect for a beach-side meal and we had been looking forward to taking our friends. Outside seating wasn't available, which was understandable, so we selected a table next to a wall, hoping to be able to hear. The noise level was SO loud that my wife went to the hostess and talked her into an outside table (even that was surprisingly noisy but we managed).
So far, so good. Then we encountered very poor service - almost to the point of being laughable. We were constantly having to flag down whatever server we could find to: replace a fork and knife that were not clean; ask for water; inquire about our drink order and ask for bread. When our meals arrived (salad with salmon, salad with Ahi, salmon tacos and I had a seafood pesto pasta) they were for, the most part, well received and enjoyed. My pasta dish, on the other hand, had been under a heat lamp so long that the pasta on top was dry and firm and the pesto "sauce" was more of a soup. The flavors were good - save for the pasta - and it's regrettable that the pasta was so dried out.
It is unlikely that we'll return.
Unfortunately, this restaurant looks to have been "rode hard and put away wet"! Carpets are filthy, wood is stained and it looks very worn. We arrived early for our reservation but we were in no hurry. Hostess said it would be a short wait for our table, which we had no problem with. When we were seated, our table had not been cleaned. Dirty dishes were gone, but food crumbs and water from the last guests glasses were still on the table. No silverware or napkins. The hostess laid our menus on the table on top of the water and food crumbs. Food was fair. I was hoping for fresh seafood but was disappointed to see burgers and tacos were the main menu items. No seafood salads, no shrimp cocktails, nothing fresh. We finally had to ask for silverware and napkins. This restaurant is in a fabulous location with a beautiful view but in my opinion, that's all it has going for it. It was our anniversary and I'd say it was pretty much a bust! I picked this location because we were married at The Woodmark Hotel and I thought it would be fun to return to the point. Next time I will pick a much nicer restaurant and take a walk on the point instead.
We regularly visit this place and we are pretty happy with food and service. However this weekend service was not up to speed with orders. We were seated and it took 15 min before someone came to take our order. I understand it was a busy morning, however service was not as expected. Food came out and we had no silverware !! I observed a couple being seated and waiter said "I'll be right back" she did not come back for 20 minutes!! I am sorry to give this negative review of my visit .... I hope service improves
This is Based on only one visit. They had our Open Table reservation and seated us immediately. Staff was courteous and professional. Food was only fair. A dish of steamed clams was full of sand, though the broth was nicely seasoned with good flavor. A replacement dish of clams (my choice; our server offered to get whatever I wanted) was still a bit gritty, but not bad, though the broth tasted like a different recipe from the first dish. It wasn't bad, but was less buttery with an unexpected bite of spice. It also took the kitchen quite a while to get the replacement clams out. Given how quick a dish it is to prepare, I can only conclude they did not make fixing a mistake a big priority.
My companion's steak salad looked good, and she liked it.
Noise level for lunch was pretty high. One the one hand, it facilitated a private conversation, but it was also a little hard to hear.
Overall, this experience was not great, but there was nothing fatal to a return visit at some point.
