Beach Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Disappointed Sunday brunch. No real brunch just a std menu with some breakfast items. No waffles or pancakes etc. No crab! Okay service and nice views. Turkey sandwich was delivered meat! Very poor. Sweet potato fries were undercooked. Chop house burger was good.
Lovely location, right by the water in a small square. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Food was outstanding! And the view... well the view alone would bring me back again! But the service was nothing short of excellent and we will certainly be back. I recommend making a reservation cause they get busy fast.
I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant for a quick lunch or a nice place to stop while boating. However, I took my father and his wife here for a brunch last Sunday and was shocked at the incredibly poor service. The three simple brunch items came out 15 minutes apart— I was nearly done with my omelette before my father got his entrée. The wait to get a coffee was interminable. Our waiter told us that part of the problem was that he couldn’t find any mugs (!). My grapefruit juice never came.
I don’t know whether the problem was with the kitchen or the wait staff, but the problem was real and I was embarrassed for having recommended this place.
Judging this restaurant by a Thanksgiving dinner is probably not a fair judging. We have had good meals there in the past but were very disappointed with our turkey dinner. I understand that cranberry sauce was an afterthought after lots of folks requested it at the early seatings that day. The "smoky" flavor of the cranberry sauce was rather strange and not to our liking. Cooking lots of turkey for many people is probably not easy. It was pretty bland. The portions of turkey were good but the portions of mashed potatoes and dressing were pretty meager. Were they running out by late afternoon? Loved the window seating and looking out at the water and boats. Our server was excellent and all of the staff were friendly and helpful and responded quickly to any request.
The restaurant was almost empty and the hostess did not want to sit us at a four top. The two tops were extremely small and located in far off corners with no direct line for the TV’s. She refused to sit us in a booth even though two remained empty the entire time we were there. The food was fine but the overall experience was sub par. Doubtful if we would go there again.
This is our go to place before Husky Games. You can have an outstanding meal and walk out to the dock and have a beautiful ride over to the stadium. Food is fabulous and everyone you encounter at the Beach Cafe knows the drill and delivers in plenty of time. Great food and always a great time. We love this place!
The restaurant experience was wonderful- great fish n chips. Finding the restaurant and therefore the closest parking area was a problem. We were unaware of the underground parking lot and we never saw a sign indicating the restaurant. The front desk at the Woodmark were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction which for us was down the stairs and through the bar.
We had a great family business meeting for three seated inside by the great looking outdoor dining deck. It was a light rain day so this was prefect with a view of sunset. Good eine and drink selection and a lovely pita, humus, olive and pepper sampler to start. My wife and I are eating vegan now and they offered a tasty, slightly spicy portabella with toast potatoes and veggies. Our son had a great grilled chicken Cobb salad which liked. There was no rush, we had the table for 2 hours on a light traffic Thursday night. Nathan was a super attentive server. A great meal, we will be back for lakeside deck dining. Under building parking was validated for 90 minutes, gates open when we left.
Went to the Beach Cafe with friends before a show. Large menu with lots of great options for lunch and dinner. The food was excellent...I recommend the Bucket o' Rings! We've had better servers, but then, we've also had worse. The view of Lake Washington is spectacular. I would definitely go again.
Booked a reservation for a business meeting. Both the table arrangements and atmosphere were not ideal for business lunch. Food was good. Service was a little on the slow side, but our waitress did a good job. I'd go back, just not maybe with the goal of talking somewhat-confidential business.
the highlight of our visit was our server Ashley who also served that night as the bartender. Despite two jobs she was an exceptional server..kind, thoughtful, friendly and really knew her stuff regarding beverages and the menu. If Ashley is on duty you are assured a splendid evening!
This place has seen its ups and downs. I'd say right now it's on a down. The food was average and nothing special. The service was terrible. We ordered a starter to share (the mezze plate) which arrived 90 seconds before our mains. Our server didn't blink an eye. I had the mahi-mahi street tacos. Two small tacos with a few tortilla chips for $16 - seems expensive. Guacamole is an extra $2. It seems they fry their own chips as several were practically raw. Our server didn't return to ask about how our meals tasted. We had a bottle of wine, she never came to the table and offered to refill our glasses. The main thing this place has going for it is the view of Lake Washington. Until the food and service both improve I recommend skipping it.
My wife and I arrived (with reservations) for Sunday breakfast at 9:00 a.m. It took 10 minutes to get a our coffee, and another 40 minutes to get our breakfast. Our waitress explained that the kitchen had fallen behind; however, the food was cold when it arrived (meaning the waitress was not promptly delivering food when it finally did come up).
Good food but it took so long to get our food.
We must have come when it was too busy for the available staff
Overhead costs are going up.
I suggest that the restaurant should raise prices when they feel the need instead of posting signs declaring a " surcharge to support higher minimum wages."
Imagine if every business did this.
I wonder if the restaurant has raised wages in turn or if this is just an excuse.
We haven't been here in a while and we like the views and food. I was disappointed by the additional $7-8 Service charge added onto the bill. When I asked my server she explained that this was because of the $15 minimum wage. She stated that none of this went directly to the servers. I'd prefer they raise their prices a dollar per menu item rather then add on a service charge based on a percentage of the bill.
I've been to the Beach Cafe quite a number of times now and they are consistent. If you're looking for a basic sandwich or that typical NW plate of Salmon they'll do fine. I do think though that they need to change up the menu a bit - gotten a bit tired of the same ol' . .. just saying.
