Yes I would recommend the beech cafe as the food and service are both great
Food prices are 2x their value. Hostess tries to give people tables when there are booths available. View not that good. Would not recommend.
Excellent service, food delivered quickly. Nice view of Lake Washington.
Recommend because of beautiful space and the view! The downfall was the service. Even though we had a reservation, others that just walked in were seated before we were. We ordered clam chowder which wasn't brought out until after the main course was served. We had to ask for it. Water refills were never offered, nor was the desert menu. That being said, we will most likely dine here again because of the location.
Surcharges should be included in pricing on the menu, instead of trying to guilt the customer into thinking they need to support managements forced compliance with minimum wage laws. Service was incredibly slow, with extensive waiting after being seated to take order, and to have table cleared after completing meal and receive the desert menu.
Enjoyed a great dinner with friends out on the patio. Our server Adam was attentive and gracious without being intrusive in any way. Food was delicious, we just love coming to the Beach Cafe.
The seafood Mac-n-Cheese is amazing.... Very slow service though.
yes...but...our order was 30 minutes in the making and was incorrect upon arriving at the table...when queried, our waitress said, 'i must have spaced out'
The waitress we had completely forgot about our table of 6 people. Our food was cold when it came out and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for our food to arrive. We had to ask three different people for our bill because the waitress never came back to check in, etc. There was an automatic tip (a really high % at that) added to our bill so I am under the assumption that this is why we had poor service; because the waitress knew that she was going to receive her tip no matter what.
Overall a good experience. Food was great! The restaurant is a bit outdated. The table we sat on was kinda sticky. I didn't like seeing some of the waitresses wearing shorts but it could be just me :)
We didn’t expect it to be a brunch menu till 3pm!! What a limited menu for a sat 2pm time. Anyway had to make do with fish and chips and some tacos- nothing that special . We were hoping for a larger selection as in their website I didn’t see the timings for lunch as post 3pm.
Great location and deck overlooking Lake Washington. Food was mediocre at best.
Experience ok, but limited menu.
Seated promptly, great service and food. Wonderful view of the water front. A little noisy, but overall an exceptional experience.
This was for brunch. Everyone’s (4 guests) meal arrived cold. One person returned hers to be warmed. It came back warm but with a hair in it. One other persons meal had a bristle from a brush in it. The waitress was quite passive and absent. I’ve eaten hear many times before but not sure I’ll be back.
Great value. Mediocre food. Chowder has too many potatoes. Crab cakes have too little crab.
We had Chapter’s, Caesar salad and salmon for main dishes. All were delicious. They don’t seem to have great deserts. Nice view of the lake at sunset and excellent service. The restaurant is big but still felt intimate to us.
Perhaps the best King Salmon preparation I've experienced in my 80 years. Compliments to the chef.
We went for lunch. Location is very good. Food is okay, not very special for the price point. What I found especially irritating is in addition to the required 20% tip which was okay based on our party size, but the ADDITIONAL service charge that was significant (about another 10%). Was not informed about this prior and thought it was excessive. Staff was mediocre at best. They are banking on the location on the water which of course is nice.
New menu which was a very good change. Husband ordered the Chinese chicken salad. Not a big deal - but it was missing the mandarin oranges. Overall the price is high for what you get.
We had a very nice table by the window and were seated promptly on arrival. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. It was a little loud for easy conversation but we managed. The food was delivered very quickly and was quite good.
Excellent place to take out of town guests...the view beautiful, the food very Northwest, and lots of choices and very friendly staff!
Have to give props to our server Ian who made our dining experience. He was attentive, friendly and very patient as one in our party was very late. He was very kind and prompt with any request.
While the view was amazing, the food was “ok” at best. We ordered two veggie omelette and both were prepared completely different (in terms of presentation as well as the actual cooking of the eggs and the veggies). Also, the bacon we ordered were chewy.
I left 2 separate phone messages for the cafe after making the reservation on Open Table. Neither call was returned so I called the hotel on day of reservation and was connected to the hostess. I confirmed that we were celebrating a birthday. When the waiter came to take our orders he did not bother to comment on that. Other restaurants have the courtesy to acknowledge a special celebration and some even give a free dessert to show appreciation. I would not recommend Beach Cafe.
Reserved outside but long wait-dined inside bar but service was very strange. Meals were served to guests in long intervals.
Bus person was most helpful as waiter was having a bad day and served our cocktails crying.
The waitress especially was so pleasant and helpful and patient!
It was the first visit for my colleague so there were questions, etc!
It was a gorgeous night with a beautiful view.
It's become too expensive for the portions and lunch time fare.
The ambience right at the beach is very nice and the food was very good as well.
Service was handled without emotion and/or personal address.
After not having provided my credit card prior to finishing dinner it took Emily another fifteen minutes to return to our table to execute the payment.
Business was slow so the service could have been better
Not sure what is going on with all the reviews regarding food quality and service quality. Yes, I have to admit, a bit too pricey for what they offer, and for the size of the portion. But the food is great (all 5 people in my party agreed), deserts were great to wonderful. And the service very friendly. They had our table ready at the time I made the reservation. We were inside but we had the best view. They validate parking for the underground garage.
Hostess was rude when requested outdoor seating. "Can't sit out there unless you have a reservation, which we did! Then we were seated off to the side patio and forgotten, waited 20 minutes just for water, then another 20 for a cocktail. Finally ordered dinner and they got my husband's plain hamburger order wrong. Good thing he checked it first since he's deathly allergic to cheese and mayo! Even though they apologized and brought out another one, it had a burnt portobello mushroom on it. He ate it anyway, tired of dealing with the staff. Also promised to take it off the bill, which they didn't. Will not ever go back and spend that kind of money and have that kind of service.
I always enjoy the atmosphere at Beach Cafe. I ordered the turkey chili and Asian salad and found that the chili was watery and under seasoned and the dressing used for the salad was underwhelming. I would not order those items again. The service was great as usual.
i frequently only have water as my beverage when eating out at lunchtime. My water was NEVER refilled during our meal. Server was pleasant enough, but not attentive. Perhaps she had too many tables. I had the fish and chips and it was just o.k. My sister had the steak salad and thought it was great. Setting is beautiful on the edge of the lake but I doubt I will be back.
I was disappointed with the food and service. I also had reservations and asked for a table in the shade. I had to wait 10 minutes and then was put in a table with shade for one person. I had to sit in the sun. Service was very slow. My friend and I each got the Asian chicken salad and it was mostly cabbage with minimal flavor. The Banana bourbon toffee cake was a huge disappointment as well.
The Beach Cafe has lost its touch. Unfortunately the food was less than appetizing and our service was worse. We weren't greeted for 10 minutes, I had to ask for water 3 times for water, and our server kept forgetting to bring things we requested like cream, butter and jelly. This is a prime location with a lake view and patio seating. They need to up their game of they are going to make it in Carillon Point.
I was so thrilled to visit again, what a difference the new management has made. The servers are kinder, the food was better and came out faster! How wonderful!
We had a great table outside. Service was a touch slow but she was very nice, knowledgeable and experienced.
