Excellent seafood and wine selections. Service was great. Coming from the southeast, I was looking for fresh local slamin and found it hear. All upside experience.
Probably sat too close to the bar. One loudmouth local patron could be heard above all other sounds detering from an otherwise exceptional night.
Eat here often and very good overall. Biggest disappointment is with reservations. Left request for booth and not to have a certain table, in particular. Of course, we get there and that one table is all that is left and hostess said she didn't get our request made on Open Table.
Always a great place to go with friends or family on any occasion
ASHLEY IS THE BEST....smiling, friendly, helpful explaining features of menu
The location is good but the food was not great. Not terrible but certainly nothing special. I had the Fish tacos and it is quite a small meal for the price. Good service though
A definite favorite brunch, lunch and dinner restaurant. Beautiful Lake Washington view!
We were caught off-guard by the presence of over two dozen high school students seated next to us for their pre-dance Homecoming Dinnner. While not the environment we had anticipated we enjoyed the fashion show as groups of students went back and forth to the restrooms. We also noticed they nearly all ordered either a burger or fish and chips. Meanwhile we both ordered seafood pasta which had generous portions of a variety of seafood. We were happy with our selection.
Great burgers. Nice outdoor patio on the lake in good weather.
The Beach Cafe has one of the most stunning waterfront views in the Puget sound area. It wisely has a limited menu and says within itself. What it does, it does well. Because we usually have an eight-year-old God-daughter with us, the kid friendly environment is important to us.
It has an excellent selection of wines by the glass that are all excellent values.
Desserts are ordinary.
I have been thinking what to say about my dining experience, and gratuities. I forget that 18% is added AUTOMATICALLY to your bill. I added another 20% tip forgetting about the 18%, of course the server DID NOT say anything. The polite thing to do would have been to mention the gratuity is already added. My fault I did not review the bill, as was busy with the meeting discussion. I would say this is really dishonest not to bring this to my attention -- just beware with these people if you want to avoid adding over 38% to your bill. I still smarting about this, and will not go here again - felt very much taken advantage of...
wait staff was not attentive and seemed disengaged. It looked like they had plenty of time on their hands. Took way too long to be served and very poor follow up. Limited menu. Food is OK. Great location.
Been to this place a few times and liked it, but this time was a bad experience. Booked and asked for water view for a birthday. They put us at practically the only table without water views despite not being busy.
Food wasn't great, dunno if they changed chefs but it used to be decent and somewhat inventive. Now it's slightly nicer than bar food and seems they skimp when they can. For instance storebought molten lava cake with dried raspberries instead of fresh.
Even though I booked with a note that it was my mom's birthday, *AND* my wife told the server directly before desert it was her bday, no candle, no happy bday written in chocolate, no cake, no picking up a desert. They didn't even SAY happy birthday.
Finally they charged an auto-gratuity even though we were only a party of 6. It's not like they did a great job with the service. Won't be back to this place.
I had blackened tuna with a generous piece of tuna - Delichious and pricy
Went there for a special occasion brunch as family was visiting, the server was nice and took our order and we then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food whilst the tables around us got theirs. I honestly think the server forgot to send in our order.
Half way through we were given complimentary mini muffins then waited another 40 minutes for our food to show up. We didn’t see our server at all during this time, I think she hid from us. Eventually our food was brought over by another server who started a conversation with the next table a couple of yards away whilst still holding our food so it was getting cold. Once the food got to us half the dishes were lukewarm as though they had been sitting at the pass for a long time (plus server chat time).
I think the food would have been nice at the right temperature but the service was so crap it was infuriating so I just can’t recommend this place.
Sorry poor service this time. Seated at a table out of view from the main dining area. 20 minutes before wait staff arrived. When she did she went to a table in front of us where the customers had just been seated. I have been to the Beach Café many times without any problems so that's why I booked a reservation this time. I'll go again but I will refuse seating in that area. Yes, there were many other open tables as we were dining early. Howard.
Great place to go for view of lake Washington. Food has been inconsistent over the few times we have gone in the last year. Service was very friendly.
Enjoyed Saturday lunch menu w/ 4 adults & 2 sometimes picky kids. Free dessert for the birthday girl was a nice bonus. Peek-boo scenic view of Lake Washington & watching an outdoor wedding preparation was another bonus! Parking validation & our server was great.
Location is great. Nice view of lake.
Found the food good but salty.
Calamari was greasy.
Halibut was nice but sauce was too salty as well
Small menu but decent selection of items
Would try another restaurant at The Point next time.
The food was excellent...better than in the past. Especially loved the fish tacos!
Nice location, with good view of the lake.
Food is average - the appetizer (salmon cakes) were dry. The fish and chips - well, the fish was tough and overcooked (very deep fried - dry inside), the fries were undercooked and soft, not crispy. And at $19, I expected more. But I think 1/2 of the $19 is for the view. :)
Service is mixed - really nice server. But had to chase down other people 3 times to get help - once for water (had set it on edge of table for 15 minutes) and once for silverware (food served without silverware or napkins) and once for a refill on a drink. I like that we weren’t pressured to leave - enjoyed sitting outside and talking.
You have to pay for parking - they validate partially, up to 2 hours. We went over by about 15 minutes, and it was a $4 charge.
They also add a surcharge for minimum wage.
VERY expensive for the quality of the food and service. I don’t get it - so many reviews like this, and yet the restaurant doesn’t seem to update their food or service.
Great atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Food was good, but not outstanding (probably was the item I ordered)
All good. Pretty view.
Jessica, our waitperson was great!
Absolutely delicious, great service and amazing view.
Great view, great food, great experience :).
Slightly cool and a little windy so we sat inside but we still had a great view of Lake Washington. Great service. She was always right on time refilling the ice tea. Great calamari appetizer and the 3 sliders were pretty good also. Great salads and I had a very tasty Thai soup. Will definitely go there again either with guests or without.
We had a reservation we got seated 15 minutes after our reservation and it took another hour to get our food. We had to wait like 30 min to get our drink order. It’s obviously managed poorly.
We had lunch at an inside table by the window on Sunday. We used to dine here regularly when we lived in Bellevue years ago, and it was always a favorite, with good food, good service and a great setting. The only thing that is still true to our memories is the setting. The service was bad—had to flag down our server to order, for water refills, to get the check. She added 18% gratuity to the check (we were using a Passport Card), which was fine, because it was the arrangement with Passport, but she didn’t tell us the tip was already in the total. She didn’t bring the detailed receipt showing the tip, so we would not have known except that our mental math didn’t add up.
The food was overpriced and not well executed. My uncle had eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were basically hard-boiled eggs. The yolks were crumbly. The mezza plate was a disappointment. The rest of the entrees were not up to the expectations set by the prices charged.
Don’t bother dining here for anything other than the setting.
I've eaten at Beach Cafe many times, I find the food inconsistent. Sunday brunch, pretty busy but no excuse for having wait an hour for our food. The waitress was very nice. Came to our table right off and took our order than came back about 10 minutes later and said she had lost it. Not sure what that meant, and why 10 minutes from the time she took the order to getting it into the computer or to the kitchen. Took the order again and no food arrived for 45 minutes. We had 3 kids with us so this was a long time to wait. Overall the meal was pretty good but a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a simple meal.
We waited 50 minutes for food that arrived cold. No beverage refills while we waited. Eggs Benedict were good, breakfast potatoes deep fried and tasteless. Would not return.
We had a very nice brunch. Great food.
Great area. Vegie Benie. Fish and Chips were so good!
We have joined friends at the Beach Cafe at least a half dozen times over the last 10 years and always enjoyed the great views and reliably good food & service. The view hasn't changed, but the service at this last visit was unbearable. It took 20 minutes to get our drink order, and once we placed our dinner order, a full hour for the food to arrive. We watched as another table of four sat, ordered, ate, paid their tab and left. We had to snag passing waiters for water refills. We were neither demanding nor rude...just forgotten. We didn't let the frustration get to us that evening because the four of us were enjoying reconnecting with each other, but all of us noticed the slow, inattentive service. So very disappointed.
Super, as always.
Not happy that a review has to be at least 50 characters in length - come on, Open Table!
We have been to Beach Cafe several times and their sister restaurant upstairs Bin on the Lake and have always had good meals. However, this time we were extremely disappointed. We had five in our party and the service was very slow for a Sunday night that did not appear that busy and they were likely understaffed. Three of the five meals came out wrong, the two hamburgers that were served were barely cooked in the middle, we got sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, the fish tacos were soggy, they filled my son's lemonade glass up with water when only half empty (and then took 1/2 the meal time to replace it), they mixed up the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay and then took a long time to bring the bill which was $197.00 without tip for a terrible meal. They added 4% onto the bill to pay staff to address minimum wage issues. View is great and other than that it was a very memorable evening in fact for being a terrible meal and all 5 of us felt the same way.
A little pricey , but the food is excellent and can’t beat the view.
Noisy. Mediocre food. Nice server but won’t return.
The food at the Beach Cafe is good and the view even better. However, we were very disappointed that the service was so extremely poor when it came time for dessert. Honestly, I believe they forgot our order which was the s'mores cake, leches, and a scoop of ice cream. It took over 20 minutes at which point our waitress had said they're working on it...so disappointed after a good meal :(
Even though I had a reservation I was told the reservation didnt work for the outside area and someone who didnt have a reservation got a table before me... the view is beautiful. I didnt care for the service or the food.
Service was terrible. The food is not good.
