We arrived 5 - 10 mins earlier, had to wait at the front desk despite making a reservation. When seated, we were seated at a narrow walkway between tables, great view of the lake thought. Unfortunately I have to constantly move my chair to allow customer or wait staff to walk through when another wait staff was taking order from the table behind me. The first coffee mug I have was cracked and hot steamy coffee spilled out of the bottom of the cup. when I asked for a new cup, the wait staff put it on the plate filled with spilled coffee. I have to request for another cup. Things gotten better after Jan took our orders, and when the food arrived. Food was delicious. The Lake Washington view was plus.
This was not my first time at Beach Cafe but the quality definitely has seemed to have cratered. I took my daughters and parents there for brunch and we were are fairly disappointed. This is far from a high-end restaurant. My daughter got hot cocoa that came out as light brown water with no flavor (clearly not real mile, just swiss miss type stuff) and not even any whipped cream or anything. Eggs benedict were fairly bland, potatoes were super oily, and the omelets were nothing special. It's hard to describe but the omelet felt like they cooked the eggs then threw everything in after it was cooked. Like it wasn't a cohesive dish compared to other restaurants if that makes sense. It honestly felt like a Denny's or Shari's type experience.
The Beach Cafe is an appealing location with its view of Lake Washington and the marina. However, on this occasion, they were short handed and apologized for the delay in being served. We didn't mind as we were sitting at the lover's table, a booth for two that allows sitting side by side while looking at a stellar sunset, perhaps the most beautiful I have seen. The food was good, but the steak on my steak salad was a bit dry. The staff could not have been more thoughtful. My friend and I had a memorable time that we will never forget. The sunset was breath-taking in its splendor and we were able to sit together comfortably, visiting quietly as we ate our food.
We sat for over 20 minutes before we had to ask the hostess to send over our server. He came and we placed a drink order and after not seeing him for 10 minutes left. Horrible experience!!
Brought some friends from out of town to end the weekend of birthday festivities. The host from the beginning was incredibly rude and service was slow and not very knowledgeable of the menu. Food was okay, definitely not worth the price. Will not be back after this experience.
A service charge is made for parties of 6+ yet service wasn’t great - mistakes with our order and on the bill too. There’s also a server surcharge added on top.
Food was poor: the salmon on the salmon Cesar was over cooked and dry- like it had been deep fried. The seafood pasta had a layer of pesto on top of the cream sauce so greasy.
This restaurant is trading on the view, which is great, but the food, service and prices are not.
We won’t be returning
Greeting was very disjoined. We had booked but table was not ready so we waiting at bar. We were then told we had to pay for the bar before going to our table but the bar tender didn't seem to know this. So quite confusing. We then went to table and it was VERY VERY VERY noisy. Children at next table banging table and making lots of noise which wasn't pleasant and did spoil a business lunch albeit a weekend. But food and service at table were good (other than they forgot to bring us any utensils).
The restaurant is overly loud and in need of a 'refresh' - carpeting on the floors doesn't help the noise and is just not aesthetically pleasing. Staff seemed rushed and didn't complete some basic services - bread basket, fresh utensils after appetizers, etc. Based on the above, our expectations for the food were not high but we were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, the food is not enough to bring us back for dinner given the overall experience - perhaps and hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine in the future.
Nice selection, good service but it was a little slow.
The food and the service are always good and consistent. The view is Extraordinary!
Great food always!
We had a wonderful time. Comfortable seating, great view. Food was good. Always consistent.
Beach Cafe is a reliable, quality & crowd pleasing Kirkland restaurant institution for entertaining guests & clients or just a fun lunch or night out. I've been a patron since they first opened years ago and they are arguably at the top of their game right now. Service, food, ambience and attention to detail are all stellar.
We sat in the lower level in the middle corner and waited nearly 20 minutes after being seated before a waitress came over. In general, we didn’t see any wait staff come by our seating area the whole time we were there except when our breakfast arrived. The food itself was fine, but this is the second time in a row we didn’t love our experience at the Beach Cafe.
Great meal. (Steak salad) great value. Service is a bit faster than what we had experie4nced before. Will go back.
We had a very nice lunch at Beach Café. All food chosen came out in a timely manner, we were all happy with our choices (fish and chips, fish tacos and burger). The service was friendly and efficient. Noise level was easy to talk but energetic.
Went for our anniversary because this has always been a favorite- right on the water and on the eastside. Sadly, service was verrrry slow. My pork chop was tasty but dry and overdone. My husband’s sea bass, the daily special, was fishy and not fresh. His Manhattan came with ice cubes! We went elsewhere for dessert. I’m afraid it will be our last visit until something changes.
Great breakfast location
On Valentine's Day we had the perfect experience! The staff was ready for us, and we had well-prepared food, ably served.
Planned an overnight stay at the Woodmark with my mom, who was visiting from Texas so, naturally, I made a reservation for dinner at the Beach Café. Great seat overlooking the water but winter is not the season to visit the Beach Café for dinner. It's too dark to see anything! Our server was kind and prompt but messed up the order for our appetizer (not a huge deal, but we were hungry). The Seafood Pesto Pasta I ordered was not great (fishy seafood which is a major taste turn-off for me) but my mother enjoyed her Ahi Poke Tacos and her Jalepinarita. Overall, our visit was ok but it would be a better place to visit during the summer.
Customer service is great and they were professional . Will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for something in that category and will definitely come back with my friends
The hostess had trouble finding the reservation and jumped to the conclusion that we didn’t have a reservation before confirming. I also asked for a table with a view several hours before we were in and we were sat in the back.
Our waitress on the other hand was great! She was very busy with many table but was still attentive and had a very positive attitude! :)
Our waitress was perfect. She patiently waited until we were ready to order our food. Our table of three was re-connecting and your Cafe was a perfect spot in every way. The views from our table side window to the delicious food made our get-together very meaningful. Thank you.
Our 'go to' place as their brunch menu is nice to have with breakfast and lunch items offered. We enjoy the ambience and also never feeling rushed. The food and service are excellent especially for a restaurant with a view of the Lake.
Server Nicole is excellent and sweet
Wish more choices on menu
There was a good selection of options for lunch; it met expectations; the service was very good.
Service is not good and food is only fair. We walked in on a Saturday for lunch around 12:10pm, with not many patrons in the restaurant. Lots of waiters standing around and chatting, but it took a good 15m to get our orders taken and water at the table. The food is fair, but at $20 for a burger I expect better quality. Beach house grill down the road may not look as nice, but the food quality and service is dramatically better.
Stop spamming people with rubbish. How did you get my email?
The Beach Café met all of our needs and expectations! We were pleased with the service, the gluten free options, the freshness of the ingredients!
I would recommend the Beach Café to all of my friends.
P.S. The validated parking was an extra bonus
I ate here once before and had a wonderful experience but this time the food was not very good. The steak was way over done and the seafood pasta tasted funny. The server was amazing.
Service was good but food could be better for the price.
Terrible menu. Bar menu is better. Main menu is expensive for the selections offered. The place was empty so the service was good. Food quality good.
We celebrated Christmas at the Beach Cafe we went because of the Vegan menu when we arrived they had a special 3 course Christmas menu plus the bar menu when I asked about the Vegan option they gladly prepared it and it was delicious.
Our server was wonderful. Everything we ordered was horrible.
The Beach Cafe came through for us and our large entourage, as they always do, on Christmas day! We were pleased by the remarkable staff's kindness, assistance, and excellence. We've been having lunches and dinners at the Beach Cafe for many years--we're never disappointed!
Very dirty dining room. They did a poor job cleaning, even after we pointed food all over the floor.
Excellent food but the menu seemed a bit limited. However, everyone in our group was able to find something they liked.
Service was slow. The BALT sandwich came with no bacon...a major part of the sandwich. The chicken on it was cold, pressed slices rather than real sliced chicken. The oriental chicken salad was underdressed. They finally took care of both, but the sandwich was very mediocre...not much flavor & very little bacon for $16. They did take off half the price for the wait and do over.
The salad was good after more dressing added.
Only thing worth ordering is the brussel sprout appetizer. Fish in f& chips and f tacos had small over-cooked fish pieces. Not worth the price. A cup of chowder is too creamy with heavy cream and $9 is over the value.
