I've visited The Beach Cafe once before, and both times found the restaurant to be a great place to meet up with friends - great service, view, and atmosphere. I tried the fish and chips and have to say they were just okay. They're not the traditional beer battered version, theirs are panko crusted and were a touch dry, but the fries were good ;-)
Nice quaint restaurant with a fabulous view! I had the veggie scramble and substituted fruit for the potatoes. The food was very tasty and the service was top-notch! I will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I were visiting from out of town for an anniversary party and I surprised my wife with a Birthday Lunch here... and the food was absolutely amazing! We are native Texans and by the end of our lunch we both agreed that Beach Cafe needs a Houston location. The Yarrow Burger was by far the best burger I have EVER eaten. Our afternoon was capped off with a complimentary Huckleberry Cheesecake. I give Beach Cafe six stars!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My wife had the baked gnocchi and loved it. They lost our reservation but fortunately were able to seat us on a Friday night. We also had the mezze plate which was pretty good. I had a steak ordered medium which was a little undercooked in a couple places, but came with delicious mashed potatoes.
While the food was fine, I was surprised by an unexpected surcharge. The excuse/explanation given for the additional charge was to "support the WA State minimum wage." This is bogus. Not because I don't support a healthy wage. I do. It's bogus because some business owners try to slide this in as "a fee". It's really a tax. Wages are a part of running a business. If you can't support your business within your menu prices, then raise your prices! And, let's be clear. SEATTLE has a minimum wage of $15/hour. This is a KIRKLAND restaurant. Minimum wage here is $11/hour. The Beach Cafe (or the hotel it's in, The Woodmark) is taking advantage of the Seattle press about increased minimum wage.
Waterfront view. Friendly staff. Always enjoy our great waiter Brian. Very professional, friendly, makes recommendations, attentive to our needs. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Ample parking and stamped tickets provided. I commend the chef..Great Job!!
Birthday celebration. Staff recognized the occasion with complementary dessert.
Food, service and location great. We were annoyed that we had to confirm our reservation by telephone, after receiving your confirmation of our online RSVP. Just seems unnecessary.
We just happened to make a reservation so we had something for Easter brunch and were all so happy with the meal! All the food was delicious and the service was great. We had an awesome view of the water and a great brunch. Will definitely be going back.
The Beach Cafe is a wonderful Northwest find encompassing all of the things that one would want in a quality restaurant. The friendly efficient staff, ambience, view, and great menu make this classy yet casual cafe a great place to dine for all meals. It is a favorite amongst family and friends.
The meal was good, although I augmented the salad with a different dressing which made it better. Service was initially good, but felt like we could have had more check backs.
Celebrated a family birthday here in a Saturday night. We love the changes in the menu. More gluten free options. Food was really good. We will be back
Outstanding service. We were going to a show in Seattle, and our waitress made our requested schedule right on time!! Beautiful views (as always). Food was good/excellent.
They have a diversified menu and good food. Some prices seemed pretty high but then my entree salad was only $10. Service was excellent and the view is spectacular. They have outdoor seating but not until April.
Wonderful view, nice food, good appies
Extremely slow, uncaring service. Didn't get to the food; left after 20 min. of waiting.
The waitress was great but the food a bit disappointing.
I ordered the Halibut entree . The roasted
Asparagus and polenta were very good, however I thought the halibut was pretty mediocre and very dry. Since the halibut was the highlight for me I was rather disappointed.
This is a great lunch spot. Food was good but it took quite a while to get our food. Menu has eggs throughout the day which allowed my daughter to get steak and eggs (looked good) while I had a club sandwich that was yummy.
Autumn salad was terrific with blackened salmon on top.
Our waiter made the meal. Our waiter was Erich and you could tell he has been a waiter for awhile. He suggested the salads with the blackened salmon on top and it was one of the best salads I've ever had. He was terrific!!
Wonderful view, great food. Luv it!
We were expecting upscale and the interior is not. Service was too casual, "you guys want anything else?" Worse, the patio tables and propane heaters were not available on a perfect weather weekend!
The food was very good but the star of the lunch was our server Erich. He was attentive without hovering. He brought a plate of munchies and apologized that there would be a delay in getting our food. My husband had ordered the Autumn Salad with blackened salmon and the salmon was overcooked. Erich sent it back and said he would not serve it . He made the right decision because my husband said the salmon was cooked perfectly. Erich comped our drinks and made the whole experience very pleasant. It is a fairly long drive for us but we will be back largely because of the incredible service Erich provided.
The food was tasty, service was good and the view is always nice. I have dined here on and off for a long time and generally feel it is a good value for the money and a nice experience overall.
The services at this restaurant is excellent.
I can no longer say anything good about this restaurant except for the view if you sit by a window and it’s summertime LOL. The food is not good at all. The fish on the fish and chips platter taste like rubber I believe the fish is probably frozen. The burgers are overpriced and do not taste that good. We will not be back.
I was so looking forward to taking out business colleagues visiting from the east coast to have some great seafood at a view restaurant on the Eastside. Well, the Cafe delivered on the view. The salmon special, unfortunately, was dry, over cooked, underseasoned, with a quinoa that was perfectly cooked, yet flavorless. I'm not quite sure how a Puget Sound restaurant hasn't figured out how to cook salmon, but there obviously needs to be a revisit to that menu as well as the cook's skills: At least there was consistency as all four of the servings were uniformly bad. The wait staff was friendly, however, the 20 minutes between ordering coffee and the delivery of the coffee, when there were maybe 15 people in the restaurant was not optimal. You may want to rethink the chowder recipe as well - or perhaps that was left over from the weekend. You know what they say, never order seafood on a Monday.
Very generic, very sleepy. Nothing remarkable about food offerings, service, atmosphere. No particular complaints, just no reason to return.
Tonight we went to the Beach Cafe for Valentine’s dinner with two other couples. Unfortunately our food was just warm, not hot and the Sweet potato fries were cold and wimpy. Our server was great but it was busy and we couldn’t find her to tell her so we just ate our food even though it wasn’t great the way it was served. It still tasted okay even though it wasn’t hot.
I have been there many times and the food has always been delicious. Tonight it tasted like they made batches of food ahead of time so they could plate the food as fast as possible. We enjoyed ourselves and we will go back again, just not for a special occasion like Valentines Day dinner. Our server and the hostess were great!!
Great service and new menu since we were last there. Really good entree choices!!
We always enjoy Beach Cafe, but don't go often as they have limited vegan/GF combinations.
I do always like the signature vegan dish they offer - very tasty but not nearly filling enough. I usually add on the sweet potato fries, unfortunately they are no longer GF. Please, please go back to the old GF version.
Service was very slow. Very noisy and crowded. Seated by large party and had to deal with lots of activity happening at that table that was very distracting. Service was really poor. Took a long time to get our food and had to ask another server to get our check.
This place was great for an afternoon lunch with the ladies. It wasn't super loud or overcrowded when we went and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and affordable for being in Kirkland on the water.
The vegetarian options were not great. They had multiple burgers on the menu, it would have greatly improved the vegetarian options to have a vegeburger that could be substituted for the other burgers, this would be easy to do.
Our waitress was fabulous. Sunday, Feb 4, 2018, 12:30-2:30.
Good aelection of seafood and some gluten-free options available. There was even a gf brownie sundae whiich was a treat!
Sweet server... timely serving of food
The food was Ok! It was much better in the past. I asked for well done burger, but it was pinkosh! My boyfriend's steak was served in bowl instead of flat plate which was hard to cut it! In general, it was not worth the price at all.
Service was a bit off the night we visited. Orders wrong and and my dinner was "stolen" by another wait staff for a different table and had to be remade. Seating was a bit cramped and shoved against the wall. It was busy, bustling and loud which made the business meal a bit more challenging o be heard, however the food was very tasty once received correctly. Hoping they were just having an off night or temporarily understaffed.
Quiet, prompt and courteous staff, great menu to choose from, and most importantly super good food.
