Slow service -water not refilled, 25 mins to get bill
This is my go-place for booking lunch meetings for my office executives. easy to get to, fairly quick service, parking is easy, view is amazing.
On a beautiful night you cannot beat the view. The outside is nice and protected from the wind so it is pleasantly warm.
I had lunch with a friend last week. The steak salad was excellent, but we were disappointed with the service. It took a long time for the server to greet us at the table The meals came without utensils and napkin. No one came by to fill our drinks.

I hadn't been to the Beach Café in quite some time and used to love it. I met a friend for lunch yesterday and ordered a $17.00 Asian Chicken Salad and thought it was less than mediocre. The chicken was fatty/grisly, the dressing, meh. My friend had the Spinach Salad which she said was 'okay'. We had no drinks and were presented with a tab of well over $40 (which included a service charge - which is basically charging the customer to cover the restaurants choice to not pay their employees enough). The view is the only thing that worked. Too bad...won't be back.
Excellent t service. We had great conversations in the booth with the 4 of us.
We had one of those square tables that can be expanded into a round by unfolding the sides. All four sides were droopy, especially one that was propped up with a butter knife. Plates would slide off. Table was situated too close to a walkway which didn’t leave sufficient room to pass easily. Had to ask for more bread four times before it finally came near the end of the meal. Three couples with separate checks and they automatically added 20% for gratuity on top of some other kind of service charge. Great location by the water but really couldn’t see much. Owners have run the place into the ground in 20 years.

Servers were great, restaurant is pretty nice and the water view was lovely, the food was very expensive and not good at all. I had a chicken BLT and it came with a barely cooked piece of chicken breast, the chicken juices soaked through my bread and it was really rubbery, it made me so sick I lost my appetite altogether, my kids chicken strips were decent, my dtr got fish tacos with a tiny over cooked piece of burnt fish and just a bunch of cabbage- didn’t look good at.all, no sauce or anything on it. Even my strawberry lemonade was disgusting, it was extremely tart with just strawberry syrup in it( no real strawberries - not even some frozen ones !) I had to add a bunch of sugar to the drink just to drink it. Overall I would never go back to eat there, the bill for 4 meals 100$ not worth it at all. I’m sure there are many places with the same lake view with 10 x better food to choose from
The food did not come out good, it was clearly burned. No apologies for having to have to wait for food to be brought out again. Manager argued when we questioned being charged full price for less than adequate food preparation.
The hamburger was huge and great. I would have it again. The salad that came with it was poor. The first "green" I picked out was basically a long twig with greens attached. It was so tough to cut I thought I might need a chain saw. Next time I will pass on the salad and go for either the french fries -- though I usually try to avoid them when I have a choice of salad or fries -- or pay extra for a coup of soup. (My companion reported that the clam chowder was average.)

The Beach Cafe is a real find--top level food and service combined with an outstanding view!

Service was awful. Half of the food came out cold. for such an expensive meal on Fathers Day it was really disappointing
Used to love Beach Cafe. Now, service was incredibly slow and husbands burger nearly inedible. The meat was tough and stringy. Poor quality for this level of eatery. Add to that an automatic 4.5% service charge (not a tip...that’s extra too). Don’t know what’s changed at the cafe, but with all the other choices, we won’t be returning.
Anniversary was wonderful spent there!
We've been to the Beach Cafe many times, but it's been a couple years. This time the food was mediocre (chicken was dry, bland). The service was terrible. The waitress forgot our drinks, and brought the wrong wine, and never came by to ask how the food was. We were disappointed. The location is killer and usually the food and service is very good. It will be awhile before we return.
Our waitress was a pro. Very attentive, intuitive and personable. I just wish I remembered her name. We are and drank in the bar for Happy Hour. Food and drinks are your standard fare. The views are beautiful.
Clueless hostess and manager. Refused to honor our outside seating reservation and shoved us in the back of the restaurant...on our 20th wedding anniversary. Ouch. I'll never go back.

The name “Beach Cafe” sounds good but the food we had was not good. We had two orders of tacos, one chicken and the other steak, and we found them to be nothing but calories - no taste. We followed it up with strawberry shortcake so we could get some flavor and that, too, had very little taste.
Nice place, decent ambiance, poor food. Don’t go there if you’re hungry!
everything about it was "OK". Nothing special but not bad.
would recommend it if it was very convenient or if there was an event taking place on the dock or at the hotel
This is one of our favorite spots for lunch/dinner with a view especially when it is nice outside. The food is fine but I feel like menu choices got smaller over time, still our entrees were delicious. The reason I rated just good for service was that last time our food arrived at different times, and unfortunately, it happened that kid menu item arrived latest.
Btw if you are going there with kids note that kid menu is designed for older kids based on the seasonings, so if you are ordering for a toddler you might want to ask them to skip some of the spicier seasonings. It would have been nice if our server mentioned this while ordering.
Nice ambeance,great waiter,but spicy Mahi, Mahi with 2 dried sticks of Mahi (?) and lots potato chips and chopped up califlower - poor!

They made us sit down then 15 mins later told us that they can't serve hot food because something happened in their kitchen.

Food was at best average. Fish was too tough, probably over cooked. Service was extremely slow and honestly not consistent, salads meant for another table were brought to us after our dessert, one meal arrived later than other 3, etc.

It was our 15th anniversary. They didn't care to make it special in any way. Gave us a crappy table when booths were available, had to ask. Food was mediocre. Not going back.

It was very very noisy
The temperature was very cold and the fan was blowing on us
The server was not very attentive In fact I ordered coffee and got the 1st cup but never had a second or 3rd cup because she never came around to refill
Unfortunately there was a power outage which we could understand that would make things more difficult however there was no compensation and the service still was not very good

Very slow! We had a reservation for 1:15pm and was seated at 1:45pm. Then, we were not greeted by a server for another 15 minutes. It was a special mother's day brunch menu which included starters but we did not receive them until after we asked for them as our orders arrived (delivered to the table by someone other than our server). Being understaffed for a special event day is not an excuse, these events happen every year and they should be prepared for it! Disappointing and not worth the price.

We had to wait for an hour even though we had reservations. Felt sorry for all the wait staff...it was clear that they had overbooked the restaurant.

Food was Ok and service slow (60+ minutes to receive food after ordering) but location and ambience was nice for Mother’s Day.

This was my serving time at The Beach Cafe. The guest time I was there the food was disappointing.The juevos rancheros tasted like black beans (straight out of the can) on a plain, crunchy tortilla with tomato sauce poured over the top. We decided to give it another try on Mother's Day. Since they had a limited holiday menu (only three items to choose from) I subbed the food would cine quickly. It took a really long time to get our food, and my Crab Benedict was barely warm.

We go there a lot. Service was extremely slow but in their defense it was Mother’s Day so busier than usual but may have wanted to prepare for that. My daughters eggs Benedict came out soft boiled and my sons drnxh trash was just barely warm. But overall it was an ok experience because we knew the circumstances. They did give us a $20 gift card for our next visit because it took so long to get our food so that was a nice gesture.
