bd's Mongolian Grill - Toledo Ratings and Reviews
Food was good. Service was horrible. I told them at checkin we needed a table for 9 plus a high chair. They seated us at a table that would not fit 8 comfortably. We pulled an EMPTY table over that was right next to us. The waiter came over and pulled it back and said someone is sitting here. Ummmmm nobody is here at any of these tables near us. I said what are you going?! We can't fit here! He went in the back and talked to the manager and finally let us have the table. Rude and ridiculous. It was a bday dinner. We will not bring a large group back. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
We go here for our daughter's birthday every year and other times throughout the year. Love the food and atmosphere. But each time we go, the service gets worse than the time before. Having to ask for a refill 3 times before the server remembers is not okay. We had a group of 11 and he only got 7 of our drinks correct. The hostess/girl who set up our table and handled the reservation was sweet and amazing though!
HTE ONLY GOOD COMMENT I HAVE IS THAT THE WAITRESS WAS GREAT. THE PLACE WAS FILTHY, THERE WAS FOOD ON THE FLOOR, THE SAUCE BAR WAS A MESS, AND NOBODY TAKING CARE OF IT. I HAVE BEEN TO THIS LOCATION 3 TIMES AND EVERY TIME ITS THE SAME THING. I WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN. THE LOCATION IN ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN IS 45 MINUTES FROM ME BUT A NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. THE TOLEDO LOCATION NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER OR CLOSE THE DOORS. CLEAN THE PLACE UP.
The restaurant was a disaster! We were there around 8:00 pm. The floors were dirty with placemats from kids & food. There were not enough clean bowls. We had to wait for those to be washed. The buffets were also a disaster. There was no cover for one of the soup crocks. The salad stuff was everywhere! The dinner buffets were the same way. Extremely messy, no one was refilling or tidying up while we were there. They had run out of sauce cups. There were 4 grill guys & not very efficient or quick. Not sure who was in charge but not operating very well that evening. I don't think we'll be back to the Toledo location.
A family favorite. Love the engaging atmosphere given off by the staff. Food was cooked as expected and the wait staff was very proactive, making sure we had whatever we need. The only negative was that we were placed right next to the employee doors, were it was very loud and busy. All in all another good visit to a great establishment
Love BDs, we go as often as possible. This time we brought a special offer. 15% off a group of 12 plus $50 gift card plus $5 mongo cash per guest. We had to argue with management to get 2/3 of those offers. Why advertise if you are not going to welcome people using the. Very frustrating 😡
It is usually a great place to eat. This trip, on the other hand, was less than desirable because of the poor service. One of the party, her food was burnt. Another one, didn't like the stir fry, and when she didn't like the replacement either, we were still being charged for it. We were also being charged for a full adult meal for a child. When this was pointed out, she then reduced the price to 6$. EXCEPT this was a Monday and the kid price is only supposed to be $3.00.
Horrible. That is nicest thing I can say. Filthy. Cross contamination in all the areas. Specifically meat and tongs and salad ba. Sauce all over. Grill cooks too busy talking to each other. Burnt food. Told to go get more for a remake. Bar was dirtier the 2nd time. We walked out having paid $10 to the server for our drinks (Soda and tea) without any food. Worst Mongolian experience ever.
Met friend for early dinner who had never experienced Mongolian Grill. Waitress was great, explained everything fully, offered suggestions and was prompt with beverages. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Food was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
My husband and I found ourselves with an opportunity for a date night so we hurry and reserved a table for 2. We arrived and was seated right away. The hostess and server were both very friendly. It was the best dining experience, staff wise, that we had had in awhile. Good job Toledo Mongo!
The experience as a whole was just "ok" if you will. Food was burnt because cooks weren't paying attention and talked to each other. Always going to this specific restaurant for the experience of the cooks interacting with you and getting the quality that your paying for, this time was a very big miss specially for my first time at this location. Unfortunate but the food wasn't as good as usual, service was iffy, overall just disappointed in it.
I celebrated my 35th birthday at BD's Mongolian Grill at Franklin Park Mall in Toledo. It was amazing. I had a party of 10 plus 1 baby and 2 toddlers. Our server Jordan was awesome. He catered to the needs everyone one in our group. Everyone was so pleased with the food and the service that we promised to make it a more current meeting place for our family and friends. Things were made even easier with the online reservations I made on OpenTable.
They should at least let you taste all of the ingredients first.... cause I just grabbed everything I liked but it wasn't good together not too mention my seasonings were not evenly distributed and that was really why It was nasty ....this is really not something I would do again I could've just sat food on the grill that's all they did ...but my server was very nice and took great care of me if I went back it would be for the service not the food.... and the drinks are actually good as well that mango was the best
The food was good as usual, but the waiter was awful! He forgot to bring me my mixed drink, then didn't give us straws, napkins or anything even after asking. When we finally got our straws and napkins he kept walking by and ignoring us, even though he was very attentive to some other diners. We really like this place but he made it miserable. This was for my husbands birthday/Valentine's Day!
I love this place. Not just the Toledo location but the restaurant chain as a whole. I love being able to pick exactly I want and do not want in my bowl, I like being able to see how my food is cooked and my whom it's being cooked by. The cooks are fun and full of energy and talented at using their utensils, too. Also, even on busy nights when the grill is crowded, it's always well managed and never hectic. I've never had a rude or unenthusiastic waitress at any restaurant, whether it be Toledo, OH, Dearborn, MI, or the Canton, MI, location. Not to mention it's one of the only places I can find my beloved Cherry Vanilla Coke these days. I go there literally every chance I get!
It was our first time to BD's - and not our last! I will say we were there early (5pm) on a Wednesday, so it was kinda slow. Everything was explained to us on how to get the partial self-serve meal. The food was excellent. If your food is not good it might be the combination you pick - they have suggestions on the wall on what/how to make the meal. The Grill cooks were super friendly, and cooked my choices to perfection. My wife was reluctant to go to BD's for her B-Day - we tend to stick with the familiar spots. I am happy to say she was glad we decided to go! We will return
Thank you BD Mongolian Grill for your mongo club and your reservation list. I would never have dreamed of trying to go to this restaurant without reservations on Valentines Day. We were taken right in and seated. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt. She was even helpful with some leg room. The food was terrific although the line was long but a traffic director made sure everyone got in line fairly. My husband and I love Mongolian BBQ. This is where my husband discovered he liked stir fry. Being able to control what goes into your food is important to him and the spice bar is just FUN for him. Thanks again.
Normally I'm not one to complain and I eat at mongo all the time, but valentines day our service was horrible. It was a very busy day but the server only had 3 tables and went to only the 2 tables. Didn't ask us if everything was okay, didn't ask us for refills, and at the end I had to ask for a box 4 times! I have never once had bad service at Mongolian bbq besides this time.
