bd's Mongolian Grill - Overland Park
The waiter was amazing. The food was great too.
Our server was just OK. I feel like she noticed we were attempting to be frugal, but without knowing WHY, she treated us sub-par during our meal. That being said, she was able to take care of a couple discrepancies on our bill.
We had a large group of 9 people. My son was part of the group and is in a wheelchair. Our server quickly came to help us rearrange the table to accommodate him. The food was very good. I expected a little more variety, but the quality was excellent. There was a bit of a wait a the grill but it was busy so we understood. We brought a cake and they helped us with bringing forks and plate. I would definitely return again.
The service was great. Our waitress was very helpful. We spent three hours dining and chatting. It was a relaxing evening, a good way to celebrate my 60th birthday.
As always great service and food.
Food was fine-- price a little high for the small bowl you get. Free kids meal for 3 and under was very generous, though. We wanted to try it out but probably will not ever be back.
The food and atmosphere are fantastic, we were a little displeased that we were unable to get a to go box to bring our food home. But other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.
We were celebrating our daughter's 25th birthday. Love that you have large round tables for a big family. It makes conversation so much easier. Our Mongolian creations were awesome. Love that you now have ribeye and yum-yum sauce. Our meals were scrumptious. We'll be back.
Our server Cheyenne was an AMAZING young rockstar!! My son said "BEST BIRTHDAY DINNER EVER!!" We've come here every year for his birthday since he was 4, because he loves it. He is now 16, and swears he wants to continue going each birthday (and the times in between)! Thank you so much Cheyenne, for helping us make this year as special as he deserves!
Always love coming here as we can choose exactly what we want to eat, adding the salt, spices, and sauces as we like. The servers could be more attentive in clearing tables, and Mongolian music would be a real treat to enhance the ambiance.
Table and menus were sticky to the touch. Less than ideal seating location. Recipe cards by buffet were sticky as well. The ingredient buffet was lacking some selections, especially the noodles. At that time, one of the employees was taking temperature readings of the individual meat trays, I’ve never seen this before all the times we’ve eaten here, especially when it’s so busy. The grillers were less than enthusiastic, meats were chewy, vegetables crunchy. We will come back because all of our previous experiences here have been good. Just an off day I guess
BD's is my absolute favorite restaurant! The food is phenomenal, and the staff is always super friendly, welcoming and attentive.
Overall BD's is a great place to eat. The only disappointment during this past visit was that literally, everything on the salad bar was frozen except the lettuce. I had to wait for everything to thaw on my plate before I could eat it.
We had a very bad waitress. We waited quite a long wait for drink refills. There was one woman who was overly loud. I didn't need to hear her conversation from 3 tables away. Her children were also creating problems for the wait staff.
We went to BD’s for dinner on New Year’s Eve. We weren’t interested in the party scene, so BD’s was perfect. Low key. We enjoy the Mongolian grill experience, and weren’t disappointed. We eat here probably 5-6 times a year, and this time was no different. I feel that you get a very generous portion, cooked very well, at a fair price.
I’ve eaten here several times and have generally been very pleased. This visit many of the meat containers were low and needed attention. The scallops container, something I was looking forward to, was completely empty and when I asked a staff member about it he simply replied: “They’re going to take a while.” I will go back because I’ve had many great meals at Mongolian B-B-Q, but hope they will have all the meats I like.
Choose your protein (meat), veg, sauce etc. The cook it on a large inverted wok type grill and serve rice or tortillas at the table. Soup, salad, drinks (including alcoholic) are available. TV's show live sports. Parking lot in shopping center.
Good food, good service
Incredible food. it was my birthday and I had a great time.
Good food server's need better training on coupons.
I have always enjoyed dining here and this was no exception. The food is always fantastic and being able to pick your own sauce makes it so much better. They have a larger selection, including eggs, than most other restaurants of this style. Using open table for reservations was very convenient. There was just some issues using the mobile version when selecting the amount of people.
It is hard to say that the food is bad when you put everything together from the meat to the spices. I love this place and would eat there several times per week if I could. It is a great healthy alternative.
We are repeat customers of 5-10 family members who love the food, service, and ambiance. We know that we will always have good food and leave with a full stomach.
They gave our table up because a few of our members had not arrived yet when they could’ve just seated the ones who were there. Then after made a family who had a group of kids with them move as to give us our table back I’m assuming. Then my friend chocked on an egg shell.
Always a great place to celebrate a birthday! My kid’s first choice.
Brought a group after an event. I'd told them about BD's and the response from all of them was that it was everything I'd told them.
We love bd's for family get-togethers. Of seven in our party, one is vegan, one vegetarian, two were on whole 30, and two major foodies. The make-your-own bowl works for everyone. Be careful if you have allergies. It was a busy day so lots of the tongs had found there way to different buckets. Daughter allergic to pineapple had to take benadryl cuz some snuck in her plate. They do offer to cook your food separately though.
Such a fun place to go and great fresh food.
I live this place. My wife does not. Even she said it was great that night. I think it is a home run every time.
Horrible service especially after the manager accused me of lying after a miscommunication with our waitress and walked away when I requested corporate contact information.
Fresh ingredients as always. Soup was just passable. Grillers should add more liquid so that it is steamed. Grillers should consider using metal pan to cover and facilitate steaming.
Great food and it’s fun to create your own dish. The service was good and the desserts are also really good. The wait on a weekend is really long, even with a reservation, so be prepared.
Good: We had an excellent waitperson.
Not so good: It is always very loud in this restaurant.
Bad: One of the cooks told me not to yell at him. I wasn't yelling; I was trying to make myself heard over the very loud music.
Food and atmosphere was good.
Problem with service...Server was quick and friendly but when delivering water to the table she accidentally spilled an entire 12oz glass of ice water on the table and into the lap of one of our group...soaking their jeans in ice water that did not dry out until they got home.
The server apoligised and cleaned up everything but then failed to come back and replace all the napkins which she used to clean the table. We had to go to the bar to get them ourselves. No one followed up or offered any discount or any other compensation which is normal for most restaurants. Free drink? Dessert? Nothing.
We are definitely getting our 2018 off to a good start! We have already been to bd's several times this year. It is an excellent place to eat and meet friends, which is what we did this time. We always look forward to our dining experience and enjoy catching up with Scott, Melissa, Carlie A, Kevin, Heather, Cheyenne, Alyssa and Emily, among others.
Wide variety of food, and with it being a Mongolian grill setting you are able to make it exactly how you like it. Service was nice and facilities were clean. Would go again!
Waitress never refilled our drinks once. Never could find her
Being able to choose EXACTLY what I want to eat always makes BD's one of my favorite restaurants. Service is generally good and very helpful for people who have not visited before.
A bit confusing at first but once you figure out the flow it is a very neat place. As a first timer I was unsure of what sauce and seasoning to select but with a little guidance I really liked what I chose. I will defiantly be back with friends again.
