bd's Mongolian Grill - Naperville
Focusing on giving guests a plethora of options, we have created a growing band of loyal customers that believe passionately about their ability to take charge of their own dining experience. Our “Stir It Up, Your Way!” philosophy gives guests ownership in choosing their own ingredients from a great variety of choice meats & seafood, fresh vegetables, crisp salads, and flavor-packed sauces and spices that are Always Market Fresh. The food is then prepared by expert grillers on a 500° 7-foot grill.
Horrible experience. Food area had ingredients and sauces all over the floor. The grill burnt both plates of food. We didn't meet our waiter until 30 minutes after we sat down. So loud you couldn't hear yourself think. Will never go back and never recommend this place. Highly disappointed.
I usually love going here. However, it was way too crowded and I waited in line for 20 mins to get to the flat top. While the men at the flat top looked busy, they couldn’t keep up the pace and just about everyone’s food was coming out burnt. Not good, when your only two options was to eat the burnt food, or wait in line for another 20 mins. I will never go on a weekend night again. I asked the second round if I could have my food cooked medium and not well done. It came out well done, but at least it was not burnt like the first time. Try going there for lunch or mid week.
Always as great time here
It was a really nice experience. It was my first time there but not girlfriend’s, and I loved it
We have been there many times, appears to be run down and had an odd smell to it. Food is the same. Service was fine. A bit pricey, they raised prices.
Great service and great food. Definitely will be coming again. Thank you!!!
good food, fun place, clearly marked gluten free choices
No food on the bar not busy
Been coming for years
Steak was chewy and tough. Lines took forever to get through. Our table was cleared before we got back. Waitress was overworked and took forever to get new beverages on the table. Horrible for food allergies as foods were spilling into other stir fry bins.
Great place. We love it. Now our new birthday celebration place
Food was overcooked and the restaurant was generally dirty. I understand that the nature of Mongolian BBQ can create a mess, but the staff needs to do a better job of cleaning the food area and floor around it. The lack of cleanliness created the impression of unsanitary food conditions.
Overall the food tasted okay but most of the food was overcooked and some items were burned. We will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
The place was very worn and dirty. The buffet was quite messy and minimal food choices. Only one beef choice that did not have any marinade.
Awesome restaurant for the plate of food mixed the way you want it!
Food was pretty good, but the overall experience was not the best. It felt a little disorganized and could have been cleaner. The process of having your food cooked was a bit confusing and took a long time. I’m not sure if it was a bad time that I went or if it’s always like that. The hostess and server were nice and attentive. I feel like this restaurant has the potential to be 5 stars but needs some improvement.
We had reservations and still waited 40 minutes
It was extremely noisy, very hot and humid and it took a long time to get the food based on how many people were there
We would never go on a busy day
Send off to camp
This place is usually pretty great but tonight was just horrible. Our server lacked any motivation and appeared to be confused. He was unable to pay attention to more than 1 table at a time and did a terrible job checking in and getting refills in a timely manner. They were clearly busy and not managing their time or resources well. The line took over 30 minutes to get through and that was for several hours. The two grillers were slow and unable to adjust or cope with the crowds. They had no sense of urgency. None of the staff seemed to as they were constantly running out of food as well. Normally you never see the bottom of the containers but tonight we had to settle for the final scraps on both visits up. It was a major disappointment. I just hope we caught them on a bad night because if this keeps up, I’m sure we will see a completely new staff before long and they will not be getting much business.
We went on a Saturday evening around 6PM and had reservations. We brought my parents for their first time with us.We loved going here because our kids love it. They always had a kid friendly staff and the food was always good. This time was not a good experience. We stood for 37 minutes in line over the food bar area with many others. I feel this is not very “ hygienic” as some woman were flipping hair, some where on cell phones then touching their bowls/ serving utensils at the food bar and people’s hands were kind of all over the food bar everywhere at once. Sauces were all over, chunks of raw meat mingling with the vegetables and atmosphere was very chaotic. We then stood around the food prep area for another 20 minutes waiting for stuff to come off grill, in that time they were placing others bowls on numbers around the grill area. Again, people were leaning over the bowls watching the cooks ( which watching the cooks is an awesome part of the experience) however, they were cleaning hands with wipes over the bowls, leaning on the counter over the bowls talking ect. I just feel that was “ unhygienic”as well. I feel that they need a system to allow certain tables up at a time to prepare their food and wait for the “cooking experience”. This grossed us out, I don’t know if we will be going back.
We usually have good experiences but when we went on a Sunday evening with our party of 10 it was busy and we had to wait a long time to get our food . When we did get it half of us had burnt food. That was disappointing considering how long we waited . We could not wait to take our family there, we live 30 min away but it was disappointing. A few went back for another plate but we were there at least 2 hours waiting and eating .
Just don't forget to tip
Food is okay
Clare was an excellent server. So worth driving from Rockford for dinner here! For sure we will be back. Its became one of our favorite restaurants to dine at
Fresh, healthy, perfect for your individual taste! My whole family loves Mongolian BBQ!
It was alright, super loud to the point where I couldn’t hear my boyfriend talking at times
Table service was awesome. However, had to wait in line for 30 minutes the first time and 20 minutes the second time for the grill. The food was charred-way overcooked the second time. Need more grillers.
Great server, cook, and food! I never knew this place was here, but I told all my friends about it.
The place was very chaotic. The layout of the buffet was bad placement to the grill. It causes a long line.
VERY crowded. Line for food was ridiculous. Many missing food items and spills all over. Food prep area got messed up - got someone else’s sauce on my food.
Grill was short staffed resulting in VERY long lines and many BURNED meals coming off the grill. When this is the centerpiece of your restaurant, it is a bad thing
That food was excellent!
Had a reservation for 13 people for my 12 y/o daughter’s bday dinner. Was told when I confirmed the reservation that we would be in then back room (it was a bday party and they don’t do anything special but at least the back room isn’t as loud). The table was not in the back room but instead right next to the food buffet. It was open when we got there but not set. Took forever to get a server over to take drinks. We got utensils after out food was done. Super slow service, the place was dirty and many of the food items were empty so we had to wait once again before we could fill our bowls. We have been many times and service is on the decline. So disappointed!
We’ve been to BD’s several times and always enjoyed it. However, after our visit on April 6 we will not return. It was a very busy Saturday night; but we had reservations but she refused- just wanted to get out of there! Walls in the restaurant were all chipped from chairs hitting. That evening I was sick all night; when I had been perfectly fine all day. Over all filthy conditions!
Waitress was attentive when we first got there. Other than that we had to remind d her to service us
It needs a good scrub down. All over. The food is yummy, but it's a bother to see the dirt...everywhere.
Excellent soup and food many options Great Buffet
Thank you for the high star rating, we hope to see you in soon!
The food and service was great. Great family environment. I will definitely come back again.
They changed the menu, so they only have All you can eat. Not a one trip option. Still a good value $15.99 for dinner
Food was great, service was slow. Line for the grill was 30+ people deep. Took a long time.
For dinner you can only get the unlimited bowl, but chances are that you will only go in line once. We timed how long we were in line during the Saturday dinner rush. Over 40 minutes. If you're willing to wait then it's a fun time.
I’ve been here a hundred times. Usually great food. Restaurant was empty when we first got there. Got our first stir fry bowl made and eaten. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Then we went up for a second time. There were MOBS of people all of a sudden, turns out nequa valley hs was doing some sort of event that night. They even had some students working on the grill. I understand it’s students trying to learn about the restaurant world, but they cooked awfully. They weren’t scooping the sticks well enough to get the food turned and flipped for even cooking. My noodles were cooked to mush, and I had lots of chunks of other guests food in my bowl. Oh well I got at least one good bowl before the chaos hit, and it’s not a regular occurrence w the high school kids there. They should’ve done a closed event so they weren’t messing up regular customers meals.
It was very crowded, half hour wait in line to get to the grill. Server was nice but a little slow
