bd's Mongolian Grill - Easton Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress was very poor. Appetizer's came out and were put on our table while we were at the grill having our meals cooked. By the time we got to our table, they were barely warm. She only brought 2 small bowls of rice for 4 people. People ran out of drinks and she only asked at the very end of the meal (as I was paying) if we wanted refills. We had to request knives to cut our meat, because the pieces were so large (steak) and butter knives don't cut through it very well. At the grill, my meal had food in it from both meals being cooked on both sides of meal. From one meal, I got noodles and from the other meal, I got seafood. I don't eat seafood and had to pick through my meal when I got to the table to find the gross stuff. Overall....very disappointed in the experience.
Our experience could have been better for many reasons. We were sat around a party of 40-50 people who blocked access to our table many times. It was hard for our server to even get back to our table. They were also quite busy so the selection of foods were low and we waited 20 or so minutes for our food to be cooked and by then our rice and tortillas at the table were cold. That party was also quite loud and didn't Care about anyone else around them. It was my son's first experience here and I wish it would've been more enjoyable. We were on a time crunch and it didn't seem too busy until we got in line.
We made a reservation online. We checked in about 5 minutes before our reservation time, but then we were forgotten, I think. About 20 minutes after our reservation time I went up to remind them again that we had been waiting quite some time, then we were quickly seated in the hot small room by the window in the front. The menus were sticky as was the floor. On the positive side, the food tasted quite good, and the service was good too. Abigail was our server; she was very nice and on top of things with delivery of our rice and tortillas as well as the drink refills. I would possibly return to this restaurant but not on a Sunday afternoon. They just couldn't keep up at the front, and they need to clean the place.
The service and food were subpar. Our waiter made us feel like he had other things to do, and taking care of us was definitely not his priority. There was no system in regards to how people should be lining up to get their food. The employees should appear professional. If they have a beard they should be required to keep it trimmed. All the chefs should be wearing a chef's hat, or something to keep their hair out of their faces.
Went there for a belated birthday dinner. The food is great and we had a fantastic waitress!! Disappointed with the gentlemen at the grill -- no chanting, nothing unusual. I picked this because I thought not only would it be fun but interesting for my hubby, who never had been there. (Only been there once, a little over a year ago.) Went on a Saturday afternoon. Since we had to drive for just over 2 hours to get to the Columbus location, I can safely say we won't be rushing back. It was way TOO NOISY which didn't help matter. The music is OK but the volume needs to be decreased drastically. None of us could hear what the other person was saying, and since my hubby and son both have hearing aids, it was really loud for them. Guess by avoiding the crowded Saturday night crowd, we missed everything else.
When I arrived, had to wait about 10 minutes just to be seated. I was the only person waiting, with only about 4 tables full. After being seated, waiter never came to table, after 15 minutes, went to host and asked to have a waiter sent, about 10 min after that, she came. Filled my drinks the first time and gave me a bowl, never seen her again till she brought a check. I didn't enjoy the poor service and rude workers at all. Grill guys also didn't sing or put in a show at all. I would give this 1 star.
The line was awful and the guy that was supposed to be directing wasn't very good at telling us where to go. He kept putting people right by the kitchen door. The food area was stocked but very dirty, major turnoff at a place with raw food. Our server wasn't very good either. She took forever to bring drink and rice, forgot bowls and then we had to explain 3 times how the bills were split.
We walked in and were ignored as we stood at the counter. I finally spoke up and we were seated right away. Our waitress was nice and the cooks were entertaining. But...this place was filthy. The floor was sticky, the food bars were messy and not wiped down and there was food/dirt under the salad bar, this was all I could look at while I ate. Food was not good, unevenly cooked and just so-so. $50 for 2 adults and a child. Highlight of the meal was the ranch dressing at the salad bar. We will never go back.
The cooks are awesome and excellently personable and hospitable. The remaining staff struggled to keep up with the amount of people. Bathroom was in slight disorder and the floor and surfaces throughout constantly had food on them. The self service design could use some thought to prevent intermixing of the ingredients. The idea is great food is good, value is high but the execution is just not up to the task of the flow of people. There is often a wait to be seated and a wait to have your food cooked as well. Could recommend going off peak times.
We love coming to BD Mongolian. It's fun to see how much food you can stack in your bowl (it's a competition with our family)! They changed their Yum Yum sauce from being homemade in the restaurant to having it made by a company. It isn't quite the same and more like a thousand island dressing now. I liked the other better, though it's still good.
