BCN Taste & Tradition Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional meal and service. Had been for an office xmas party in December and enjoyed it so much that I decided to go again for my daughters birthday dinner. Was again very impressed. Highly recommend. A must try would be one of their signature Gin and Tonic cocktails. The Lavender or the Ultimate are two of my favorites. A must appetizer the patatas and octopus. The carrot soup w/burrito and mint and the beet salad are unique and flavorful. A must as well. Enjoy all!
It was our second time at BCN. Food was very good and sommelier gave great recommendation for reasonable wine selection. However our server was not as good. She was hard to understand, we felt rushed at times, appetizers came out while we were still enjoying cocktails and took forever to get our check when we were finished.
Lovely evening exceeded our expectations. BCN is located in a quaint, historical Montrose house. Spaces are cozy, atmosphere is special. I recommend sportscoat for guys. Make it a date night.
Nice cocktail menu with specialty gin cocktails and plenty of wines by the glass. Our server let us taste our wines before pouring. That was nice.
Loved my salad of super-thin sliced zucchini w smoked salmon and lemon yogurt and fresh dill. Fabulous. I will be trying this at home. My husband liked his burrata salad as well.
Entree branzino was delicious and a hearty portion. Duck breast also excellent.
The 'brazo de gitano' ( gypsy's arm) was a fantastic dessert, big enough to share. A tube of puff pastry filled with custard and glazed with burned sugar, like creme brûlée.
We will return!
BCN continues to amaze and surprise the sophisticated as well as the neophyte diner! The attention to detail, the breadth and depth of the wine list as well as the overall Spanish experience lends itself to a memorable occasion every time we dine here! One could make a meal out of just the appetizers and the main courses continue to pay tribute to a very special Mediterranean city. We will definitely be back!!
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food for the price. It was 5*+ prices but not food quality. So, no, we would not recommend it, sorry.
The clam appetizer that Jesus sold as "over the top" was tough and a little grainy, the entrees (we had 4) were okay, but not outstanding. The duck was very nice but not worth $32.00. The other 3 were not as tasty and thus, even more overpriced.
The wine and sangria were very good. The dessert was very nice.
Start your meal with a unique gin cocktail. Order anything from the menu it's all delicious (I tried most items). Sip a nice Spanish red and end with a Carajillo. It's a hot ticket to score....another group actually stole my reservation that evening but the restaurant quickly put a table together for my group. I will be back..
The place is spectacular. We loved the ambiance and service was fantastic. The food I feel could have been better considering the price. It wasn’t anything that I would say is better than say Pappas steakhouse or Trulucks or Post Oak Grill. The tapas (appetizers) were great.
This was our second time dining here and the experience was great. It is nice for special occasions and the food is portioned well. We ordered the ham croquettes and burratta salad for appetizer - both were fresh and delicious. Entree was the Branzino special. The portion was very large and ended up taking part of it for later. For dessert, we shared the almond sponge cake. We left feeling satisfied without being overly full or over salted. The chef came by at the end to say hello as each table finished their meal.
We will definitely return. On a funny note, we were celebrating our anniversary, and the cake came out with "Feliz Cumpleanos" written on the plate. The waiter apologized profusely, but we got a good laugh out of it. No big deal!
We have been to BCN several times and have always enjoyed it very much. This time, however, we were interrupted several times to ask if we were ready to order while we were having some wine and at the end, we got the check as soon as we said that we did not want any dessert.
