BCN Taste & Tradition
BCN Taste & Tradition, the name gives a nod to Barcelona and the meld of traditional and modern Spanish cuisine. Chef Luis Roger has just relocated from Girona, Spain - trained under Michelin Chef Ferran Adria at elBulli- and taught at the renowned culinary school Aula Gastronomica de l’Emporada.
Located on a 1920’s era Victorian home in the trendy Montrose/Museum District (4210 Roseland St.). BCN Taste & Tradition will recreate an authentic Spanish style dining experience with unparalleled service. The menu will showcase all the fantastic, cutting-edge haute cuisine that put Spain on the world stage.
Absolutely amazing. This was our first time to get the tasting menu and my only regret was that we didn’t do the tasting on previous visits. Amazing food at every course paired perfectly. Icing on the cake for what had already been a great anniversary.
Excellent dining experience - brought us back to our time in Barcelona
Mario was exceptional!!! He is passionate about the culture and the food and we enjoyed his company! This has become one of my favorite dine-ins!
Artful, delicious plates and courteous, helpful service in a highly romantic environment.
This is an elite restaurant with elite drinks, elite service, and elite food. ELITE!!! Love BCN!
Just a perfect evening. Great food, great wine selection, tremendous service and atmosphere. There has been absolutely no drop-off whatsoever in the BCN experience while they have managed to create an environment in which we felt extremely safe. Best patatas bravas on planet earth. Really fantastic care and suggestions by our waitress as well- with new favorites for wine and dessert for future meals. Will be back again soon...
Mario is within a doubt the most amazing sever! He made my mother’s birthday celebration spectacular. The food is phenomenal and the wine pairings were exceptional
Great as usual!
Food was excellent even though the brazino and lamb could have used a little less salt. The service is amazing and outstanding. I love their gin and tonic cocktails. Very nice Spanish wine list. We are making it a tradition to go there for my husband's birthday. Definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
Birthday dinner with friends.
Staff doted on us all night
Wonderful as always. Lupita is the best! Can’t wait to dine here again.
Our sever Crystal was wonderful and very knowledgeable about wine! She recommended and allowed us to try a few different kind of wines so that we can select the best one! She was awesome! The hostess was also lovely, she always has been! Always feel like home when we dine here! 😊😍
BCN has been on my list of Houston restaurants to try, and I can finally checked it off the list yesterday!
The restaurant had a cozy feeling and displays of Picasso's original artworks throughout the establishment. The building was a bit old, so you could see some tear here and there, but that added to its charm though. The service was pretty great, with the head waiter walking through the drink and food recommendations and the rest of the waitstaff working to ensure a great experience for diners.
I was able to try the Lavender Gin & tonic per recommendation, and it was definitely a worthy drink with great presentation! It tasted quite refreshing.
For the food, my date and I decided to go with the Tasting menu to sample some of the best dishes the restaurants had to offer. I sure expected a *WOW* factor for the experience, as Tasting menu usually displays the chef's skills and innovation. But overall, I think the supposedly stars of the Tasting menu (Suckling pig and grilled branzino) were disappointing; and most of the dishes in the Tasting Menu had a factor that prevented me from having a *WOW* moment. That left the experience much room for desire.
Additionally, we had to flag the waitstaff down twice to change dirty napkin and silverware. You would think the hygiene would be better here.
Always great food and Service. The lamb and suckling pic are always amazing.
Outstanding all around! Food, service and atmosphere - none of which could’ve been better!
Did the tasting menu. Excellent as always.
We sat outside and it was beautiful. The weather was perfect. Our waiter was outstanding. He was available as needed but let us take our time and enjoy the evening. We did not feel rushed. The food was delicious! You can't beat their gin and tonic -- yum. We also had a bottle of wine and it, too, was perfect. I highly recommend BCN and I especially like sitting outside.
Great place for creative foodie type. Great imagination with exotic preparation.
We love this restaurant, the food is awesome, the staff is awesome, our Houston favorite! Ask for Krystal or Mario, they are both incredible.
I never heard or knew of this place but I wanted to try something different for an adversary. All the servers were eager to please and the place was relaxing and nice for a romantic dinner. The Spanish food is really good we follow our waitress recommendation also for the cocktails. They gave us a complementary dessert for our anniversary (Nice touch).
Food is on the pricey side but completely understandable based on the quality of the place. We will definitely go there again.
Everything at BCN was fantastic! From the greeting at the valet to the service at the table, we couldn't have felt more welcome. The octopus was some of the best we have ever had - super tender and perfectly matched with the potato. The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Desserts were also very tasty and the wine list was well selected and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back again.
Another superb meal at BCN! We began with an amuse-bouche of salmon crudo, followed by ham croquettes, jamon iberico, and the deconstructed patatas bravas. Over a bottle of Abadia Retuerta "Sardon del Duero" my guests and I had quail stuffed with foie gras, bomba rice in cuttlefish ink and a fideua of seafood. The service was attentive and impeccable. We'll definitely be coming back many times more.
I love this restaurant. It reminds me of good Spanish restaurants back home. The personal attention that they provide is great. They pay attention to each detail. We like to celebrate birthdays here.
BCN never fails to impress. Best G&Ts in town and the service is bar none. Absolutely my favorite fine dining restaurant in Houston.
Excellent modern Spaniard food and service.
Moderate priced wines.
Great service and delicious foid
The food was amazing. We sat at the bar and were able to view the bartender make all the wonderful drinks.
A perfect experience. The food was amazing. Wonderful wine selection. New favorite place for a quiet yet flawless culinary experience.
Paco gave us his upstairs private room so it was quiet. The service is absolutely the best making this the best restaurant in Houston.
Food is creative and fun ... and still Spanish. A unique experience in Houston and great for a special event or just a night out that you want to feel different.
Had a wonderful dinner for my husband’s birthday. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Every course was delicious as well as visually beautiful.
Our waiter was readily available and informative on the wine regions of the pairings.
It was a pricy evening but well worth it!
Excellent atmosphere and the food is delicious! My favorite restaurant in Houston!!
Lobster wasn’t as fresh lamb good
Chose BCN for it's Spanish menu and good reviews. We were seated upstairs, appeared regular patrons were seated downstairs. Our waiter was very attentive, and we ordered the house specials. We very much liked the grilled branzino. Thanks to our wonderful waiter for helping make our wedding anniversary memorable.
Outstanding dinner - everything from the waitstaff, the excellent gin & tonics, the food, and the ambiance was excellent. Now firmly on our "favorite restaurants" list
To me, this is the best restaurant in all of Houston. Exquisite food and exceptional service.
Had the tasting menu and it was delicious. Only problem was that they took too much time between meals.
This is an excellent Spanish restaurant situated in a repurposed 2 story home in the heart of Montrose.
The service was outstanding. We sat in the outside patio and it was so lovely. They are taking every CDC precautions. Recommend this place for date nights
One of our favorites in Houston and the flavors never cease to amaze us. Dinning outside was romantic and noise free. Very cool when chef Rogers came by to see how we were doing, share some of his techniques and discuss his latest resturaunt MAD. Can't wait to go back.
