We had an outstanding, truly spectacular and special vending. the service, the wine, the food were all amazing and we can't wait to come back again.
Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and accommodating.
As for the food we only enjoyed the pork cheeks and the two desserts we ordered. The other items we ordered were decent but some were disappointing. For example the octopus was extremely bland but soft. The suckling pig was soft but the skin was not crispy.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a authentic Spanish cuisine
Attentive service. Great wine list. Pretty and delicious food.
Birthday dinner with family
Great food, amazing service and very romantic atmosphere.
Food was very tasty and very balanced in flavors. Definitely recommendable.
In the words of my banking colleagues who were in town from NYC, “Spectacular Meal”....
The food was amazing and service was great. Wine recommendation was fantastic and everybody left looking forward to their next visit to BCN.
The only two complaints I have are:
1) After taking away our appetizer plates, I heard behind me that a waiter dropped some dirty utensils/plates. I ignored it but, towards the end of my meal when I stood up to use the restroom, I realized the lower back/side of my suit jacket was significantly stained with splashes from whatever it was that the waiter dropped. I understand sometimes this happens but I would have expected a minimum courtesy of the restaurant staff apologizing and saying something. Even offering to dry clean my suit...unfortunately, Nada.
2) in this day and age smartphones are ubiquitous and i’ve come to expect people taking pictures of their phone, texting, etc. I’m guilty as charged myself. having said this, the people on the table next to us had a loud FaceTime conversation for almost 10 minutes with their kids/grandkids. I know it is a difficult position for the restaurant staff to say something, but it is annoying to people in surrounding tables.
At the end of the day, these are first world problems that didn’t take away from the amazing food and great experience we had.
Mario made a special night all that more memorable. Gin and tonics kill.
I suspect that my wife and I simply caught their team having an off-evening. The narrow driveway which constituted the valet line became held up to the point where I was concerned that we'd be in jeopardy of running afoul the 15 minute reservation policy. However, we made it in time and were efficiently seated on the second floor. A full fifteen minutes passed before anyone took our drink orders, and even then our server - while certainly very polite - did come off somewhat harried, skipping many of the niceties I've come to take for granted in professional serving staff. There was no introduction to the menu for first-time diners and no offering of any of the evening's specials (if there were any).
For appetizers we had the patatas bravas, which was delicious to eat and artfully presented, and the grilled octopus, which was prepared almost to perfection without a hint of rubberiness. Salads were a marvelous contrast of flavors: smoked eel with green apple, and the burrata with watermelon. For main course I took the Lobster while my wife ordered the salmon, medium doneness. The lobster, a take on a Menorcan stew and served with rice, was tasty, but I was disappointed to find that the lobster had been overcooked and that the tail meat had shrunk and was curling away from its shell. The salmon was outstanding, its bright lemon and arugula cutting through the rich flavor of the bleu cheese wild rice risotto on which it sat. Our desert was perhaps our favorite part of the meal. We took the chocolate ganache cake with chocolate mousse. The cake was dense and topped with a beautifully glossy ganache, and the mousse so airy. It was sweet without being cloying. Had I the foresight to order espresso, it would have made a perfect accompaniment.
Great restaurants have off days and I am guessing that we simply caught them short-staffed or too busy. I'd be happy to circle back to BCN someday.
Absolutely stunning. A lovely spot with gorgeous food, superb and very knowledgeable service. Everything was perfect. A great spot for dinner with two or perhaps 2-3 couples. A nice vibe - upscale, chic and global. Ambiance also allows conversation and connections. A must “go” for discerning diners.
Superb service, great food. Overall, a comfortable, repeatable dining experience! Loved the patatas bravas, my guava gin drink was perfectly balanced, Rabbit was great, too!
For the expense the dinner was disappointing. A couple of items were replaced from the fixed menu emailed to us, sea cucumber for lobster and Branzino for merluza. The suckling pig was however excellent and the desserts were very good as were the appetizers.
It was a very nice dinner, we like the food,
Our server, Carlos, was knowledgeable, patient and professional. He steered us in the right direction on appetizers and wine.
Service was impeccable, attentive, and overall outstanding. Several items were outstanding, BCN Potatoes, dessert. Shrimp special appetizer was not great. Mains (Lobster, Porto Cheek) were also not memorable.
Due to the food, wouldn’t make it a point to visit again, unfortunately.
By far one of Houston's best dining experiences. Superb food, wine, and service. Thank you Pack!
This was our first time to visit, but it will not be the last. Absolutely delightful ambiance and the food was so accessible and delicious. Recommend making a reservation for bar seating and let Mr. Santiago and the bar staff take you on a wonderful journey.
Best restaurant in Houston and certainly a great place to celebrate any special occasion.
BCN is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. The food is always great and well presented. However it still has the feel of comfort food. The portion sizes are more than enough. We also like the variety of the types of appetizers and plates to share.
No review would be complete without mentioning the wine list. The list is varied and offers options for all pallets and price ranges. We really enjoy Spanish wines so BCN is always a treat.
The atmosphere is both elegant but casual.
Paco and Lupita treated us royally!
A truly spectacular meal. Jesus is an entertainer and waiter. He is so knowledgeable about everything.
Great dining experience.
Have been wanting to go for months and finally made a reservation. Incredible service and great food. The vibe was perfect for a date night.
EVERYTHING was amazing. From the valet to the food. The food was some of the best food I’ve ever had. The service was great and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Loved all of it.
We had a late reservation (9PM) and despite of this the noise level was very high. It did not help that the music was loud. Loud music obviously incites loud conversations, and everybody tries to speak above the noise. I like to have a relaxing meal where I can enjoy a conversation with my guests and enjoy the food, which was outstanding btw. If the atmosphere is hectic, good food is not enjoyable. Please go back for a trip to Europe and notice that in their best restaurants, including in Spain, the atmosphere remains relatively quiet and yet cheerful. If we need noise we go to Brasserie 19.
Wonderful experience, attentive and kind server. Great food, great drinks. The team really went out of their way to make sure we had a special experience.
Amazing find kept behind the hustle and bustle of Montrose area. If you ever come, for sure you will come again in another season as they do serve food seasonal, just like in Spain. The best olive oil I have ever tasted since me and my wife last travel. The food brings back the memories while we are touring the entire Spain especially in Catalan province. We truly enjoyed the experience of your chef culinary expertise and soul brought to it.
quite possibly my favorite meal in houston so far. great unique dishes , very good flavor. great ambiance. great service. will definitely look to return.
Family reunion was incredible here at BCN although we missed the dapper manager who gives special art tours. It’s expensive but unique and always excellent.
Excellent appetizers, entrees - the filet melts in your mouth and the desserts - lemon tart and the phyllo puffs were exquisite!
It was great - just a bit too cold - the AC was on a bit too strong - had to keep my jacket all night
We sat at the bar and had excellent service. He made our meal very enjoyable with his knowledge of the menu. We had a potato appetizer which was presented in small single bites of soft filled potato cup. Very flavorful. My husband really enjoyed the eel salad as well. He had the duck entree which was fantastic. I wanted to eat light so I ordered the fisherman soup. It had deep flavors and I would order it again. It could have had a bit more shrimp and branzino but it was only an appetizer so I understand. I’d love for them to offer it as an entree and have more fish/shrimp. We split the philo dough dessert. It was small but we were fine with it. Is was pillows of brûlée and rummed raisins. Delicious!! A must Gin and tonic is the one with the honeycomb. We’ll be back most definitely!!!
Is was great
Excellent food and drinks, attentive service from Mario!! Pricey
Top notch service and outstanding food.
Consistently excellent experience! Food was fantastic and by far the best G&Ts in Houston.
Great experience as always highly recommended
The Bar at BCN is phenomenal and only compliments the wonderful food and service. Gracious in every way!
