Lambchops were rare rather than medium rare and one was cold. Butternut squash was cold.
Worth the price. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and unique with a Spain flavor.
Great spot for high end Spanish food mostly shipped directly from Spain.
Own previous experience was great (5 star) but this time the food portions were so small we left hungry. We ordered the specials so that may have been the problem. Menu item looked much larger. Not sure if we will come back.
This was our first time at BCN and we were blown away! Perfect service, perfect atmosphere and amazing cuisine! Our waiter/craft cocktail bartender, Santiago, was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. Hands down my best dining experience in a long time!
Great quality of food and great wine list (just Spanish which is perfect since it’s a Spanish restaurant)We would have appreciated to have a sommelier recommending a good pair for our food since we don’t have enough knowledge about Spanish wines . We thought that an upscale restaurant such BCN must have a sommelier. The level of noise was too high and tables to close each other so that you can hear what your neighbors are talking about and they can hear you. The location beside the car wash is not elegant for a restaurant like this. But we will come back for the food .
This was by far the best meal I've had in Houston. The food and service were both excellent. I started with a delicious G&T (there were several to choose from)! We both had the Manchego salad which was recommended. It was perfectly dressed and delicious. I had the lamb special and my husband had the duck breast. Both were fantastic. And for dessert we got 2 - the phyllo pockets with the cream and raisins were the best bites ever! My husband preferred the rollup cake (can't remember the name). The restaurant is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. This will be our new go-to special occasion spot.
Excellent all the way around from food , service, cocktails and wine
The service was exceptional and the food was just as good. Wonderful experience from beginning to end
We always enjoy going to BCN. The food is fabulous and the staff is great.
The best restaurant in Houston! We love the atmosphere, the service and the food.they have the best Patatas Bravas bar none. Excellent wines and terrific gin and tonics. Cheaper than a trip to Barcelona.
As always, food, service and staff were excellent. The lamb was delicious.
Awesome food and cocktails...no disappointments. Highly recommended
It was my 28th wedding anniversary. Paco and staff were fantastic. My wife and I felt like we were well taken care of. It was a memorable 8 course meal.
Amazing as always
The food was fantastic. However, the service was unfortunately quite lacking. We came here for a birthday. We noted this in the reservation and also on arrival (before the birthday person arrived). This was never acknowledged. The waiter did a hard upsell on a number of menu items. Also, they completely forgot an appetizer dish (jamon) that we were looking forward to and had hyped. Our mains had already come out, so it was too late at that point. Another point on service, I sat with an empty water for at least ten minutes while waiting for a refill. Ultimately, the service was just not up to par for this expensive of a meal.
Phenomenal food and service. It was our dad’s milestone birthday and we were sited in the lovely Dali room. We brought a group of 10. Every appetizer, entree and cocktail was superb. The service was perfect and everyone was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Coming back here as soon as we can.
We love this place, but this time it was a mixed experience. My garlic shrimp and roast pig were excellent. My wife's pig's feet carpaccio was slimy and not very tasty and her bass was overcooked and pasty. In addition, the Priorat was a bit corky: I should have returned it from the start, but I hoped it would improve with oxygenation. It didn't.
Nice new place and good concept but prices are too high and service was very mediocre for what you are being charged.
Fabulous! We would definitely come back!
Always a great dining experience. Love the octopus and iberico
Wonderful evening with great food and excellent service.
The food was outstanding, wonderful service, and lovely ambiance. One of my favorite restaurants.
This was a belated Valentine's Day date for my wife & me. Amazing! Every dish was a knockout. Santiago the bartender was a great host, helpful & entertaining. I'm not a gin-and-tonic drinker, but yours were excellent. And the desserts! We're coming back as soon as we can.
I had a delicious pork tenderloin with butternut squash puree and my wife had black sea bass. The texture on the sea bass was a little softer than expected but still okay. The burrata salad with watermelon was excellent. The green pea and artichoke salad was average and a tad salty. The bread was fresh and served with great olive oil and sea salt. We had a fantastic Aalto PS Ribera Del Duero wine recommended by the sommelier......it was superb. And the Gypsy's Arm sponge cake with whip cream and caramelized topping was delicious . The service was attentive and genuine. We really enjoyed our experience.
Birthday dinner; excellent food and ambiance.
Food and service was wonderful! I have already booked to return in 2 weeks!
Wonder service; fabulous, authentic Spanish cuisine. Superb wine list and expert sommelier service.
Drinks and food were excellent. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and the owner visited with us for a time. Everything was definitely first class.
Paco and his staff are unparrelled in their service.
30th anniversary. Best food and service in Houston...probably anywhere!
Enjoyed the full experience with the chef's tasting menu. Great food and wonderful service. Wine selection was also very nice.
Excellent service! Creative and delicious food and beverages, beautifully presented! This was our first time visiting Houston and discovered BCN on the list of top restaurants. There were many items on the menu that we would have liked to have tried. We will need to return.
Our anniversary dinner at BCN was absolutely wonderful. We arrived a bit early, so it took a while for our table to come available. Even though our wait was due to our own premature arrival, Paco, the gracious and friendly GM, noticed us and insisted that he buy us a drink. He then told us about how gin and tonic ("gintonic" in Barcelona) is a national speciality and showed us a list of at list ten different versions. Neither my wife nor I have ever met an G&T that we liked, but were so intrigued that we each ordered one. Incredible...delicious...with none of that medicine taste that we associate with gin.
After noticing an original Miro' in the bar area, we moved on to dinner at a roomy two-top in one of the converted two-story residence's dining areas. Our waiter Jesus was delightful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine. With his guidance we found a number of incredibly tasty appetizers (foie gras, calamari, and iberian ham), then settled on entrees of fresh Hake and Fideo pasta with crispy Iberico pork and sauteed peppers. Every bite of every artistically presented dish was sublime, perfectly prepared, with a balance and complexity of subtle flavors that is hard to imagine finding here in the US, let alone in Texas. Our sincere thanks for a most memorable celebration.
Outstanding food and service as always!
Never stop going here!!!! :)
We visited during Valentines with high hopes based on previous reviews. We left disappointed because the food, although good, wasn’t worth the high price tag. We had two entree, shared one appetizer, one glass of wine and one dessert, and the bill was over 200. The food was on par with any nice restaurant but nothing special. Nothing we can say ‘wow’ after the first bite. Rack of lamb was ok, pork rib dish was salty, sea bass was probably the best dish and desert was just average. We don’t mind paying high prices if the food is the star but here it is not.
Also there is no valentines menu and the restaurant didn’t offer any flowers for the ladies. Just another night for them and we left feeling the same way. Therefore we will not return.
This restaurant is truly exemplary of a quality dining experience. Top notch in every way. Try the Mediterranean Gin & Tonic. A taste of Barcelona in Houston.
Really, really underwhelmed with the main dishes. I had the lobster, and had to dump salt on every bite for any flavor at all. Even then, it seemed pointless. The steak was alright, overcooked slightly. We should have just stuck with our bottle of wine and apppetizer at the end of the day, and then eaten elsewhere. The patatas bravas appetizer was the best thing we ate. The "grilled" octopus appetizer was not good at all, we only could stomach eating half of it. It has the same spices (and more mashed potatoes) as the patatas. It was rubbery and unappetizing. The ambience was good, our server was attentive. Side note -- If you go here, men, wear a jacket. Just a heads up, everyone does!
