bb's Ratings and Reviews
We had dined at bb's previously and decided to return for a "date night". We arrived early, so it was very quiet at first, but then got a little livelier. The staff asked if we needed to be somewhere else later in the evening, and we did, so we appreciated them being aware of that deadline. The food was delicious and we had a lovely evening.
Wonderful meal - we had the steamed buns, the chicken liver mousse, burrata salad with peaches and the halibut special. All were just stellar! The bread for the table was served with an olive tapenade, olive oil and some ricotta spread. Not inexpensive, but a good value. We'll be back when in Aspen!
During our visit to Aspen, my wife and I had the opportunity to eat lunch and dinner at BB's. John and the staff made us feel right at home. The food and service were top notch. All meals were well prepared and full of flavor. Our favorites were the Rachel (their take on the classic Rubin), BB burger, lamb chops, and corn chowder. BB's is a must visit and will be a regular stop for us during subsequent visits.
Bbs welcome was inviting and the patio had great views of Ajax Mountain. The wine selection by the glass was interesting and the selection of appetizers was varied. The ahi poke was good, and their bread is also delicious. My entree of scallops was a great choice and my husbands buffalo tenderloin was also good. The servers were friendly and provided very good service.
We will definitely return.
We ordered the ramen which was rich but very good. The salads and scallops were also exceptional. We are pleased to see BBs finally found its groove, as they seemed to be unfocused for the first few years they were open. This was our first meal there in over 2 years. Something about the dining area continues to be less than ideal but we cant quite put our finger on it? The bar on a snowy, cold evening is a good call.
Awesome place! We had dined at bb's in previous years and decided last minute to make a reservation for our final night in town. We're all glad we did! The cocktails use fresh ingredients and they offer a nice selection of wines by the glass and half bottle. The kale salad was huge but very delicious and the shrimp two-ways entree was great. Finally, the bread pudding with bailey's ice cream is a must for dessert-lovers! Our server seemed relatively new, but did great and was quite knowledgeable. Definitely check out bb's if you're in town!
Fantastic from start to finish! My husband and I enjoyed our meals immensely; service was excellent all around, and the ambiance was beautiful (patio overlooks Aspen mountain). We especially appreciate that the menu was creative and expertly executed. I regret that it took us so long to try bb's, but we will certainly return every time we visit Aspen.
This is a first time review. The physical space is a little cramped but still creative. Water and bread service were attentive but not invasive, which set a nice tone for the evening. Beet salad very good and nicely presented; Caesar salad was lightly dressed but good. Each were generously portioned. We had the antelope entree and a small plate of 3 duck tacos. They were creative, not overly seasoned, and also pretty substantial portions considering. Espresso service was fair but desserts were interesting and we had their s'more which was more than enough for the two of us and very good. Wine list was reasonably deep and fairly priced across the spectrum. We would definitely return.
Have been to bb's a few times in the last several years and this time was just as good, if not better than in the past. Their special coconut-curry soup was fresh and filling, while the lamb shank was full of flavor. For a relatively small restaurant, it doesn't feel cramped and offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.
