Great outdoor set-up in the back. Food was great as always.
Outstanding food and service. The Chilean Sea Bass was exceptional.
Overall food was good got my orders quick, but was not hot enough so sent it back to reheat it.
Great mother's day brunch. They have a very large outdoor dining area with a great setup and the food was outstanding.
I liked Bazin's on Church very much. The staff was pleasant, accommodating and eager to please. I thought the food was outstanding. This was my first time dining at Bazin's but it won't be my last.
My party did have one suggestion, please offer bread, even as an appetizer.
We had dinner on Saturday night outside on the patio to celebrate Mother's Day. The server was very nice, but the food was bland and poorly cooked. My husband's steak was very well done and my son's was rare even though they both ordered medium. And my daughter's hamburger was so raw that it had to be sent back. My mother-in-law and I had the shrimp/scallops with linguine. There were only two tiny scallops and two tiny shrimp along with a flavorless pasta. The desserts, including creme brulee, key lime pie, and apple fritters, were fine.
With tip, we paid $300 for the meal. We felt it was way over priced and we were disappointed with our meals. We had expected fine dining based on other reviews. We will not be returning any time soon.
Wow. All dishes we ordered were spectacular. We will have to return.
I was so excited to take friends to Bazin's for their engagement celebration. I've seen all of the special things Bazin's has done in the past for other customers. I wrote about the special occasion when I made the reservation, called ahead about it to alert the staff on the day off, and even purchased a bottle of champagne from the restaurant in advance of our arrival and had them put it at the table side before our arrival. When we arrived, the waiter promptly popped the bottle of champagne and poured it and said nothing. We had a wonderful meal and the service was just fine, but the restaurant did absolutely nothing to acknowledge the special occasion despite 3 different notifications. I really love the food at Bazin's and I'm sure we will be back at some point-- but I won't leap to have a celebration here in the future.
Best filet mignon my husband ever had.
I had the mushroom encrusted halibut and they subbed roasted cauliflower for the orzo. Was AMAZING!
Bazin's was everything we could hope for for our first meal at a restaurant in a year. We were comfortably seated under a tent, protected from the rain and enjoyed some delicious food. I would highly recommend the crispy oysters and lamb chops appetizers. The service was amazing as well. Thank you Bazin's!
Bar service, apps, and dinner and wine were fabulous. Manager and team were great. Really enjoyed dinner experience.
Cocktails, shrimp roll, crispy oysters, branzino and short ribs were all delicious. The outdoor seating was nice. Server was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Definitely will return.
Friendly, neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and service.
Food was good but the service was less than desirable.
Delicious as always! Such a great gem in Vienna!!
We went to celebrate my mom’s retirement and the food was phenomenal. The crust oysters, crab cake, short rub, shrimp + scallop linguine and halibut were unforgettable! Plus the strawberry + cucumber mojito and flourless chocolate cake was so delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Beautifully transformed parking lot into romantic al fresco dining. We felt very comfortable with the observed pandemic protocols. This is one of our favorite restaurants and our first time back in well over a year. Happy to report it was well worth the wait and exceeded our expectations in quality of experience and culinary arts.
For starters, the back patio is beautifully tented with socially distanced tables. Our waiter Jeremiah was better than excellent. Overall nice guy either great recommendations and did not rush us. The menu was fantastic. I just moved here from NYC and have not had a meal like this since I’ve been here. The tuna tar tar special app was delish and the purred mushroom soup should not be overlooked. The Chilean sea bass was best I ever had. The steak (special) was very good too. But for my birthday Jeremiah brought out the fried Apple empanadas and the vanilla creme brûlée (I couldn’t decide btwn them). The fried apples was insane. No words. They were both licked clean. Was able to meet the owners Julie and Patrick. Needless to say you’d know why their restaurant is as popular as it is. Its very much a family feel. I cannot wait to go back!!
Fabulous time as usual! Always a treat to dine here and such amazing Sea Bass and Lobster sauce ravioli appetizers! The brut rose champagne was wonderful too as was the service! Patrick & Julie Bazin have an incredible restaurant-you won’t be disappointed!!
Fantastic service. Foods was dressy, got and full of flavor. Can’t wait for come back:
Fabulous meal, well done with spacing and outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back!
Amazing food. Every one should try the short rib and the Sea bass.
They did a great job with our large group!
Fantastic dinner and restaurant. We were under the tent in back - which was fine. There was a heater. We stayed warm and dry as the rain came in. The only hiccup was the weather as it was a tad cold. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC!!!!
The food was great but an off night with service.
Great food, service and atmosphere - one suggestion - they need to have bread or rolls served at the dinner. I’ve gone there twice within the last 6 months and they’ve said both times their bread supplier isn’t available- well please find another bread source please!
Couldn’t be much happier with the drinks list, menu, relaxed atmosphere, friendliness of the staff and owner, and the food! Bazin’s is a local treasure we’ll be going back to!
First time at Bazin's with four good friends, one of whom recommended this place in Vienna. We dined in a lovely setting. Owners have made it elegant and comfortable. Our waiter was terrific, but his mask kept falling down and he kept putting it back over his nose. Yes, this is included in a restaurant review. One day, there will be no more talk of masks. The food was wonderful. Everything I tasted, I enjoyed immensely. Would recommend excluding the overcooked garlic bits from the mushroom soup, which, otherwise, was delicious. Grilled romaine salad. Who knew. Delish. The fried oysters are to die for. Everyone enjoyed what they'd ordered and the bottle of Malbec, so, so good. I will bring my husband asap. I love having discovered a restaurant I like in northern VA, because for us, it's been few and far between.
Creative and delicious entree selections and appetizers! Beautiful setting. Loved it
The Veal, branzino and risotto were all excellent.
Great food and service and always love the atmosphere. We tried both the halibut and sea bass and they were cooked perfectly, but I prefer less sauce on the plate. Nice selection of reasonable priced wines as well.
Patio is fantastic! Awesome food and service. Never disappoints!
Bazin's never disappoints and when we were ready to visit our first indoor restaurant, we knew it would be Bazin's. The tables were appropriately distanced and all Covid protocols were being followed. Our steak and fish entrees were prepared perfectly and the Burrata appetizer was beautiful and so tasteful. We love the family atmosphere created by Julie and will look forward to our next visit soon - outside dining looked perfect also so give that a chance if you're not ready for indoor yet.
Love Bazin’s — delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. The outside back patio is gorgeous! Excellent wait staff and amazing food.
I ordered their Shrimp appetizer, it was fried shrimp covered in sauce -- it was like a Crackle Barrel dish. Then I ordered a strip steak, medium rare with fries. The steak was thick, rare and covered in sauce.
But my friend liked the halibut and the service was good.
This is our fourth or fifth dining experience at Bazin’s. It can be tough to get a table on the weekend. They have converted a back lot into outdoor dining, which adds a lot of capacity. We were skeptical about the atmosphere of the back lot, and were pleasantly surprised. The menu is always relatively small, and each dish is carefully created. There is a lot of attention to detail, making what otherwise might be a simple dish taste fantastic. I had rockfish, and my husband had a seafood pasta dish. We had an apppetizer with toast and burrata that was amazing. And best of all, there is a sizable dessert list, all crafted with care in-house. We had a Carmel tart with chocolate ice cream. The experience was outstanding. It is great to start enjoying the simple things again.
From seating to the final tab, the quality of service was fantastic. The experience only went up from there, as the food was absolutely top notch. The variety is great, but the quality and taste of the food and unique, flavorful appetizers and entrees are what set this restaurant apart. I would highly recommend the short ribs and broccoli frito!
It was an ok experience. Portions were a bit smaller than what I remembered ( I ordered the sea bass), steak was not cooked as ordered and it was very chewy. My son requested ranch for his fries and they told us they do not carry ranch nor do they have any complementary fresh bread for the table. Many other restaurants to choose from in the area which we would have preferred.
Dave was our server and did a phenomenal job of taking care of us. The Barbaresco (Tera Mia 2012) was outstanding as was the food! We'll be back!
Every item we ordered - sea bass, rockfish, branzino, veal - was wonderful. Very generous portions. Will be back.
