A group of us had lunch. Some of us had the beet salad and loved it. We had the snacks—pistachios and the ricotta cheese with fig on Cristina—both very 😋
This was my least favorite visit to Bazins. Food was overly sauced and lacking in flavor. Salads lacked presentational appeal. Food was fine, but not up to usual standards
We had a delightful evening w friends. We will come back.
Ordered the duck/foia gras ravioli entree for $23 to share with another person. There were 5 silver dollar size so we had no idea what really was inside. Couldn’t taste the meat. The Marsala sauce was purple - very unappetizing. Not worth the price.
Crab and corn chowder flavor good with a few chunks of crab and corn...liquid thin (with chives) mostly what filled the bowl...no comparison to say Passion Fish.
We loved everything except the noise level. Lowering the noise would improve he ambience.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel at the last minute so did not go to the restaurant.
Bazin’s never disappoints. Sunday Jazz brunch featured really good live jazz from a 5 person combo. Mimosas were delicious as was the crab Benedict and my wife’s quiche. Great place for Sunday brunch, or any meal.
My husband and I went for a date night. We haven’t been here for about 5 years, but remembered it was good. We were seated right next to the wall and the other side was another two top. It was very crammed, but I get places want to maximize their space. We ordered a bottle of wine which was $50. The cheapest was $48. Anyhow when it was brought to the table it was a twist off top. I suppose this is my fault for ordering it, but $50 for a twist top...really!
We ordered a fig app and it was good. I ordered a salad and it was incredibly bland. My husband’s soup was better. We were not offered pepper (none was on the table) and that would have helped with my salad. Our meals came out. My husband’s hanger steak was just ok and my salmon was also ok. We were hungry so we ate it and it wasn’t bad just not great. It was not $25-$40 per dish.
We ordered two desserts. The key lime tasted old and like it had been in the freezer for a while. The sundae was not great either. I believe they were $12 each and maybe worth $7-$8 each but not $12.
Our waiter, while nice was not around a lot. We saw him maybe 4 times which were to put our orders in and to get the wine.
Overall we were disappointed. If we are going to spend $160 before tip for two it should be a better meal. We could have gone to any other number of places for less and had the same caliber of food and service.
The food was very good, the service excellent, the wine as well.
Haven’t eaten here in quite a while as it is hard to get a reservation. Ate later than normal but enjoyed it immensely. Quiet and no kids made for a very enjoyable experience
Matt was an excellent waiter
Bazin's is one of my all-time favorites. I order the Maple-Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass every time I go. My daughter got the veal which was was moist and flavorful, served with a fresh, heaping topping of greens - nice accompaniment.
Kitchen does not seem as careful as they once we're. Service was only ok.
The new menu is excellent, but most importantly, it is prepared and presented beautifully. We have never been disappointed in our many visits, and we will definitely be back.
One concern I do have is that it doesn’t take many filled tables to raise the noise level to an uncomfortable range, particularly when members of your group are wearing hearing aids, as two from our group were. Carpets, window curtains and ceiling sound absorbers would probably help.
Always enjoy having dinner here. Great food at very reasonable prices. It is truly a neighborhood gem.
Outstanding brunch. Try the Avacido bread crisps, yummy!
Outstanding food, service, a great dining experience.
Dinner with my daughter and niece. All three entrees were DELICIOUS! Comfort food served up pretty!
Excellent meal with attentive but not intrusive service. We tried the Housemade Rocotta which was excellent...we considered a second order but decided against it. We had the Flat Iron Steak and the Filet Mignon. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were perfect complements to the steaks. Our waiter was excellent. The appetizer and dinner were perfect.
We ordered the salted caramel tart and the cheesecake. Neither was that great.
We truly enjoyed the appetizer and our dinner but we were not impressed by the desserts.
We plan to return to this lovely restaurant.
I expected the food to wow me from the previous reviews I read and honestly, I thought the food was just okay. The appetizer food portions were tiny... 4 crispy medium shrimp for $13. My crispy chicken with roasted eggplant entree was drowning in sauce. It was way too much. Yeah, I don't think I'll be back to this place.
First time here but we will be back. Good menu, prepared as ordered, outstanding wine list. Noise could be lower.
My second time here and food was disappointing...
My friend had a flat iron Steak and she sent it back because meat wasn't really tender for being medium rare.
I had braised pork ribs and meat was hard to chew.
For $27-30 dollars a dish it shouldn't happen.
The crispy Oyster were very good.
Great overall experience, food & wine was delicious. Great ambience
My guests and I had a great luncheon this past Friday. The food and service were terrific! We will be back and will work on planning a Women's Club luncheon meeting here.
First time there everything was nice and the food was good. Our waiter was very nice and we enjoyed talking to him. I would come back.
Perfect Sunday brunch with good friends in a great place!
Perfect spot for an extended business lunch with a new colleague. Service was attentive and helpful - Jose was at the table when we needed him and thoughtfully left us to our conversation otherwise. Food was delicious and presented with skill and flair. This restaurant is a favorite for its food, staff, and comfortable yet interesting atmosphere. An excellent value with a deep wine list.
Our visit was most pleasant---service perfect--excellent waiter have had him before and he is on top of his game. Food was perfect---Lobster Tacos excellent
Service was a bit slow and food was inconsistent. The Sea Bass was excellent. The duck entree, the crab and corn chowder and Crispy Oysters were disappointing. The Key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake were mediocre. We went for a birthday, specifically to try the Krispy Creme bread pudding, which was on the menu on the website, but was NOT on the menu when we got there.
Bazins never fails us. The food is original and delicious every time we go. Brunch was no exception. I had crispy lobster tacos, my husband had GF Huevos Rancheros and my daughter had the Belgium waffle with fruit and whipped cream. Highly recommend!
Bazin’s is always yummy and staff friendly and polite. Owners on premise and dedicated to their customers. Lovely spot in Vienna .
We will be back!
I don't know why I don't think to go here more often. The food is creative without being off-putting. Lot's of great flavors without "foams" and "essences." The menu has items for just about anyone that are complex without being complicated. I had the lobster soup as an appetizer, and it was one of the best I've ever eaten (including at restaurants in Maine and Boston). My partner had the lobster and avocado salad. It looked great, and tasted better. Both of our entrees were delicious and came in substantial portions without being too much. Will definitely keep Bazin's in mind for our next nice dinner out.
The food and atmosphere were great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Also, the waitress was good in that she didn't mess up our order, smiled and was attentive. But she wasn't friendly and seemed to be very rushed. We will go again though, the food was so good.
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Specifically, the seafood here is amazing. I also really like the spiced olives appetizer. Service here is prompt but at times we find it to be a bit awkward. Both times we visited the server was very soft spoken and a bit hard to hear. Definitely go here for the food. You won't regret it.
Love Bazin’s. Food wonderful and service is always welcoming. Great restaurant.
Wonderful service and the food was perfectly prepared. Wine list us well thought out and provided many pricing options. A very pleasant experience.
Excellent chicken thigh appetizer but the Moma’s Meatballs were rather bland. Filet mignon was cooked perfect and very tender. Salmon was very good too. Little overpriced on glasses of wine.
Had a wonderful lunch celebrating a friends birthday. Enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine and everyone liked their meal. The restaurant was cold so we asked for the heat to be turned up and they were very accommodating.
Bazin’s is consistently great. The peach Bellini was amazing, as was the rest of the food.
