Food was pretty good. We had lunch there to celebrate my friends birthday which I mentioned ahead of time. They said the only thing they could do would be to write happy Birthday on the plate and a candle for the desert we ordered (and paid for). When the time came, I had to go ask for it and was told it couldn't be done because the chef left. I showed my disappointment for no special birthday treat aside what I had to order. After returning from the restroom, somehow they managed to write happy Birthday on the plate but couldn't find a candle. It was a bit frustrating given this is supposedly an upscale restaurant and most places treat the birthday person to desert and decorate the plate. It was like pulling teeth but we made the best of it.
We love Bazille. We don't live nearby, but whenever we are in the area we go there, usually for lunch. The food is delicious, the service is great, friendly atmosphere, some healthy choices, good wine selections. Highly recommend. I look forward to my next visit.
As always, the food was wonderful! Healthy and interesting salad combinations for a light celebratory lunch for my friend's birthday. The service was attentive but not overbearing. You must be doing something right because my friend and I celebrated my birthday here in November!
Great food as always -enjoyed a nice daily special as well. Great convenience for those already shopping at Nordstrom's. Food and wine have almost never disappointed. Only downside is the noise level- I guess it doesn't bother everyone but it detracts from the meal for me.
Overall it was just OK. This was my first time. I stood around and waited by the front desk to be seated for a while before someone came to seat me. The table was fine. Waiter was OK. He brought the bottled water and a glass but did not pour the water. The salad was OK but I did not feel that it was worth the money. I had the asian chicken salad which had 3 thin slides of chicken on top and then there was a little bite of some soggy chicken in the bottom of the bowl. The crab bisque was OK but not great. Again, what I got was OK but it was pricy for OK food. Don't plan on going back.
I have dined at the cafe often. Was disappointed this time because things have changed. You have to ask for bread & a straw now! Not just automatically served! The portions were much smaller & the prices had increased. The food was ok but not as good as normally.
My daughter, grand-daughter and I had dinner there after shopping in the store. The food was great. Service was good but not wonderful. Our server and helper who delivered the food just put down the plates and said nothing to us. It felt rather abrupt. Otherwise it was a great evening.
Rude host, terrible service. Made reservations for party of 9 for my mom's birthday. They gave our table to another party even though we were ten minutes early. Host was rude and dismissive about the situation. Finally seated us at a table for 8 so we squeezed in. They were out of kids menus and made us wait at least ten minutes after being seated to give us poor quality photocopies of kids menu. Server was polite but slow and inefficient. I picked up all of the menus and returned them to the host stand because she did not. I refilled waters at our table because she did not. My soup arrived without a spoon and I waited 15 minutes for a spoon. I asked our waitress 3 times for a spoon but she did not bring one. Finally, she brought out a new spoon and soup because she made me wait so long. She did not clear the table between courses so we had to pile up plates from bread service, soups, and then our main course. At the end of the meal she brought out our check without the chocolate mints that typically accompany the check so I had to go and get them myself. She also failed to correctly run our credit cards. All we asked was that the bill be split evenly between five cards but she charged mine twice and another card not all. This used to be our favorite place to have lunch when we went to Galleria. We have been there many times over the years but we will not be going back again after this terrible experience.
Love this restaurant. Not many people would expect to find something this good nestled in a department store, but the food is absolutely fabulous. My party had prime rib French dip, grilled salmon, ahi tuna salad, several soups, and a flatbread appetizer. There were zero complaints from anyone! The bill was a little pricey for lunch with it being around $120 for four people, but if you've got the cash to spare, the food was absolutely worth it.
I just wish the place had better control over its acoustics. I like the vibe, but it's getting the the point that instead of being re-energized after lunch, we leave exhausted instead (and we're less inclined to do more shopping at Nordstrom afterwards). It's so noisy in there, and there is no table that is safe. That being said, the food, wine, bread, coffee, and service are still great. Also great: I noticed the calorie counts are now on the menu.
Our waitress was slammed but tried hard. We all had ordered a cup of soup to start and they never brought it. Pointed it out when entrees arrived. She apologized and gave us a discount for the mess-up. I had club sandwich and the bacon was undercooked and the turkey tasteless. Frys were great!
But all in all it wasn't near as good as it has been in past years. Too bad.
My first visit was a nice surprise. I had no expectations and was more than pleasantly pleased with the food and service. The citrus shrimp salad was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The wait staff made great recommendations that were a crowd pleaser.
This place is so convenient we keep coming back, and there are a few dishes we've come to love (thankfully they have not been removed). The service is usually good, despite what I think is the noise interfering with certain information coming across to the waitstaff. Most recently there was a bad glass of wine (still not sure what happened, but it was old and vinegar-y). But of course all was taken care of very quickly. The noise level in this place is still my biggest complaint, but we keep coming back anyway.
