Bayside Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This is a really good restaurant. Basic American food. Terrific fish and steaks and excellent service. The music on the bar side is too loud on the dining room side. In addition, if you want to share a salad they charge an enhancement to what is already a very expensive salad – and they don't tell you in advance. These kind of surprises are negative and really very ungracious. This too. Should not dissuade you from enjoying a fine meal at this restaurant.
Bayside is a beautiful restaurant with some truly amazing dishes. I ordered the chicken breast, and found it to be delightfully juicy and seasoned perfectly. The prices aren't bad, and the service was stellar. Oh, and the live pianist added a lot to the ambiance here.
This was our fourth New Year's Eve dinner at Bayside. We also dine here once every three or four months through the year. Booked a 7:30 reservation a week prior. We have always been seated immediately, in the dining room or bar, but not this time.
We arrived five minutes early, wound up waiting thirty minutes while at least two parties of two who arrived after us were seated. When I asked (politely) when we might be seated the hostess looked at me, turned away without acknowledging me, and walked off. When we were seated, we were warehoused outside about as close to the street as possible - maybe they thought we would climb back on the turnip truck.
One selects a location for special occasions for the experience. While the meals (venison and lamb) were excellent, as we've come to expect, the treatment was not. Next year we'll ease the congestion at the front door by dining elsewhere. Cheers!
They push the outside tables street side on their open patio (only curtains). We took the bait and sat down. they tried to seat others (4 or 5 couples) there also, however they were smarter than I and said no and were taken inside. Super loud motorcycles, semi trucks and cars going down the street. Make sure you sit inside if you want any ambiance. Better of at Ruths Chris, Mortons, or Mastros any day of the week. I wrote them 2 weeks ago and they never got back to me.
I think because it was Christmas Eve that Bayside was PACKED! We were sat right behind the entertainment, which was loud so next time we will ask for a table farther away so we can converse. I had the pork chop which was huge, with roasted potatoes, both were yummy. Started with a salad and wish I had ordered the mushroom/chestnut cream soup that my sister had and it was fantastic. Her Salmon was exactly as it was described on the menu so she was very happy. Dessert was crem burlee that was delicious. Yes...we will return.
My son and I went for dinner before the boat parade. The service was excellent, very attentive, friendly and funny! The meal started with warm bread Fresh out of the oven. My son had the sirloin and I had the venison and both were excellent. The potato gnocchi was outstanding! We shared the banana bread pudding and it was delicious! Overall, a great dining experience. A little pricey but good for a special occasion.
The service was exceptional. The host welcomed us and made us feel very welcome and at home. Our server was very attentive and provided superb service. We liked it very much. The food was delicious with a great selection. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We love Bayside Restaurant - the valet attendant is very friendly and remembers our car - the busboys are fabulous in keeping your bread plate full if you desire and your water replenished , the food is consistently delicious and Mavie is a superb server. They have excellent live music in the bar area
Thanksgiving dinner was tasty, if overpriced. Compressed salmon salad very good; autumn harvest salad ok; turkey good; cranberries good; mashed potatoes ok; broccliflower ok; stuffing good: portions small; Belgian chocolate cake a little dry, and not very chocolatey. In sum, better than sitting home and eating frozen pizza - but at $50 per meal, it could have been better (IMHO).
This was our fourth or fifth Thanksgiving dinner at the Bayside. This very didn't seem as good. Fist and foremost our service was not good. Our server was very polite but not attentive nor did she bring all that was ordered; a salad and a cocktail (1 of 2) hum. The portion for the Turkey DInner was weak. Not enough gravy on the filet and the waitress didn't ever come back to check on us. By the time she one of the two cocktails we were done with dinner. As soon as she left the next table, she was back to ask for our dessert order. All in all I love the Bayside and will return but perhaps not for a holiday dinner next time.
