Bayside Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We love Bayside Restaurant - the valet attendant is very friendly and remembers our car - the busboys are fabulous in keeping your bread plate full if you desire and your water replenished , the food is consistently delicious and Mavie is a superb server. They have excellent live music in the bar area
Thanksgiving dinner was tasty, if overpriced. Compressed salmon salad very good; autumn harvest salad ok; turkey good; cranberries good; mashed potatoes ok; broccliflower ok; stuffing good: portions small; Belgian chocolate cake a little dry, and not very chocolatey. In sum, better than sitting home and eating frozen pizza - but at $50 per meal, it could have been better (IMHO).
This was our fourth or fifth Thanksgiving dinner at the Bayside. This very didn't seem as good. Fist and foremost our service was not good. Our server was very polite but not attentive nor did she bring all that was ordered; a salad and a cocktail (1 of 2) hum. The portion for the Turkey DInner was weak. Not enough gravy on the filet and the waitress didn't ever come back to check on us. By the time she one of the two cocktails we were done with dinner. As soon as she left the next table, she was back to ask for our dessert order. All in all I love the Bayside and will return but perhaps not for a holiday dinner next time.
The restaurant it beautiful but we were drowned out by the din of conversation. There is a problem with todays dining. The restaurants do not have any noise drowning drapes or carpeting and everything bounces off the walls! It is not just Bayside but many restaurants. Hard to have a conversation.
Food is always excellent and consistent quality. Our waitress was observant and comped us our wine corkage because the wait times during our meal were a little excessive at times. We were showing your restaurant off to friends and we were sorry they weren't able to see the top quality service we usually have when dining with you.
I made my reservation online and a question was asked "what am I celebrating" and I had options to choose from and chose "anniversary" since we chose this place to celebrate our 13 year anniversary, and we were not acknowledged about our anniversary with any special dessert or verbal congrats.
Disappointed! Thought it was pointless to check the box for a celebratory occasion, and nothing special was done!
We always love our meals at Bayside from the valet parking attendant to the host / hostess/ server and runners. Movie is an excellent server - he remember what we usually order even better than we do sometimes! My husband had the Octoberfest special and it was marvelous. We'll be back
Used to be a great restaurant. The lamb tasted old vegetables etc in plate whole presentation lacking. Expensive for lunch fish $38 as opposed to other places $28-34. Only 3-4 tables filled at peak lunch time. Our server Sylvie was fantastic and the valet is wonderful.
I take my family to Bayside every time I visit my mother in law with my grown children in Newport Beach. Restaurant hits high marks on all important points. Service is always excellent, great ambiance and food is delicious. Solid wine list and well made drinks guarantee a wonderful evening . Never fails to finish our visits on a high note.
