Would highly recommend. From the bread to entrees to deserts. Everything was amazing tastewise and some of the best we've had. Wife didn't finish orbeat much of her fish and they were willing to take off of the bill in an effort to make us happy in the event it wasn't good. Very highly recommend and may have gone to the top of our many new Orleans favorites. Definitely recommend trying the veal sweetbreads. One of the best flavors imaginable.

I had been to Bayona years ago and recalled it was very nice with great food. I wasn't disappointed... Award-winning gumbo, great steak dinner and good wine list made for a winner. Strong recommend.

Interesting Saturday lunch menu - any 3 courses for $28.00, but erratic service left us sitting too, long between courses.

My group of friends and I had a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cuisine and the late lunch atmosphere. We visited towards the end of their lunch hours and never felt rushed. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the service is impeccable.

Bayona is a pretty restaurant with nice, comfortable outdoor seating in a relatively quiet part of the French Quarter. Food was solid across the board, but service was leisurely to a fault. We were assured we'd have two waiters attending to our needs, but we had to wait over 20 minutes before anyone took our drink order. By that point, we were trying to avoid being there all night, so we ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner all at once. Service picked up a bit after that, but it was still a long wait between courses on a night when the restaurant was less than half full. In the end, a relatively simple business dinner for 5 (no desserts or after dinner drinks) took over 3 hours, and our host was thoroughly agitated by the time our check arrived and just wanted to get out.

Every time we come to NO we have to do at least one night at Bayona. Salmon on a sauerkraut bed was great. It works well. Apps were all delicious. Setting is very nice and service was spot on. Love it.

Traditional, somewhat formal - tucked away in a quiet section of the quarter. Interesting menu; laden with local favourites. Sweetbreads are amazing; duck "PBJ" is unique but a bit heavy for my taste.

As usual, the food was wonderful! Apparently, they were down one server but there seemed to be much more confusion than the loss of one staff member warranted. We never got bread, even though we asked, and our meals took a long time. We waited patiently for our reservation time but had to ask for drinks 3 times after we were promised beverages while we waited. When our reservation time arrived, we had to remind them that we were waiting to be seated because they were confused about our seating preference when we had not expressed a preference. Rather chaotic for a restaurant of this caliber.

The wait for a reserved table was over an hour. We sat in the “bar area” and no one came to ask us or another group also waiting if we wanted to order a glass of wine. Another other group asked the hostess “ are we the forgotten?” as a group of 6 men were given a free bottle of wine to great fan fare. Service was horrid — over a half an hour to 40 minutes between courses! The shrimp was divine but the pork chop had no flavor. Both my friend and someone had to send their meat back since “medium rare” meant seared. What a disappointment.

Had the sweetbreads, garlic soup, potato soup, pork chop, and rabbit entree. All wer very good, but the dark chocolate and pecan pie was to die for.

Sat upstairs in the wineroom for the first time. Very cozy.

Always a good meal!

First off the food was reasonably good but the dressing on the oyster salad needs major improvement. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is very nice however, we didn’t appreciate the cold air blowing on us from above. Many of the women had on jackets due to the discomfort of this cold air.

Lovely dinner on the outside garden patio under twinkly lights. A quiet romantic oasis amidst the colorful and boisterous French Quarter. Perfectly cooked swordfish appetizer with root vegetables and yummy fried oyster salad to start. I kept stealing my husband's oysters when he wasn't looking and would love to have the recipe for the dressing on the swordfish appetizer! The best dish was the rabbit cooked two ways! Dessert was a warm apple hazelnut tart with miso (yes miso and it works!) butterscotch ice cream and spiced rum caramel sauce! The waitstaff and the kitchen choreographed the timing of our meal perfectly! What an elegant evening!

 (New Orleans)·Dined on October 25, 2017

First the complaints. The service was rushed early in the meal - our first course arrived before we were finished our cocktails and the main course was right on top of that. As the room got filled the service slowed to the point that there was a fairly long wait for our dessert, pretty much the reverse of the beginning of the meal. Also, I recommend avoiding the red wines by the glass. I don't know if I just had bad luck, but what I was first served, at $15 a glass, tasted like one of those $8 bottles of French wine that is virtually indistinguishable from water. I exchanged the first glass for another wine that was only a marginal improvement. My companion's glass of white was fine.

Now for the good, of which there is much. The specialty cocktails were top notch, and the food was excellent as it always is. The service, except for what is mentioned above, was attentive and accommodating.

So stick to the bottles of red and let your servers know what should be obvious - that you are in no rush to leave their excellent restaurant.

We had dinner on the patio which was beautiful. Nice garden setting with lovely lighting. Servers were very good and friendly. Nice wine list. The lamb loin was delicious. Oyster salad was very good and portions were nicely sized. Unfortunately, the braised cabbage accompanying the salmon entree was not a good flavor combinations for me...cabbage too strong and dominated the fish. Desserts were good too.

We had an early reservation after the play at the Saenger. Service was great. We ordered rabbit, pork chop, salmon and others. All came out great. The duck and sausage gumbo was also very good. The owner and chef, Susan Spicer came out to check on our satisfaction. Great place.

Usually quite amazing but I just happened to order a very mediocre main course. Avoid the pork chop; it had no taste, was tough, hard to eat. The sides with it were great. Very friendly service. I have been a regular since 1991 so was quite surprised. I still would go back.
