Bay View Restaurant - Inn at the Tides
The Mother’s day menu was very good!
I highly recommend for Mother’s Day!!
Service was extremely slow.
Fletcher, our server, made up for it with creative cocktails.
Excellent service! Really good food and atmosphere. The piano in the background was superb! Will visit again soon.
Our service and meals couldn't have been better. We had a nice quiet table by the window. Our wait person was welcoming and all the staff was very attentive. I didn't hesitate to order the special knowing that the ingredients would be the best. It was chicken with a lovely sauce on; it was easy to eat with your fingers (by the wing) with perfectly cooked breast. The salad I had was spinach with goat cheese and it was perfect; I am a salad person and it was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. All were warm and friendly making a perfect evening to celebrated our son's birthday.
We went for Easter Dinner and were not disappointed. The server,Mary, was great, the food was excellent. I had the scallops which were done perfectly & my husband had the Filet. We both enjoyed a glass of wine that was perfect with our meal.
Just moved to Bodega and was greeted right away, the hostess talked with us and got to know where we were from, why we were dining there etc. there was a piano player, playing the whole time throughout dinner and the view was spectacular. We got one of the best seats in the house too! I will be back for more delicious food and more importantly great service!
We stayed at the adjoining Inn of the Tides over the weekend, and dined here Saturday night. The view is wonderful. Surprisingly, the place never filled up. The food was good.
We had two complaints. First, our entrees were ill timed. Two people got theirs within five minutes of each other. However, the third entree didn't arrive until the other people had almost finished theirs. All three entrees were fish, and the slow one was a daily special. Fish generally doesn't take that long to cook, so it appeared to be a staffing issue in the kitchen, especially since the place wasn't full.
Secondly, as hotel guests, we received a coupon for 10% off on our dinner, which is significant for a $200+ meal. Even though the staff was aware that we were staying there, they didn't remind us about the coupon when we forgot after the big meal. And our attempt to collect later was rebuffed.
We were four adults and one baby and it could not have been better. My veal Piccata was tender, generous, the sauce was just the right balance of lemon, caper and butter, and probably the best I've had in years. Friends had the scallops which they loved. the staff was patient with the baby and brought lots of edible chews for her and no complaints about the mess she made. The view is great and the spacious room meant we were able to get up and walk around with the baby who helped makes acquaintance with many of the other friendly diners. Overall, a great experience for us.
Amazing. Celebrated a birthday and they made her feel so special! Great service and delicious food!
The dinner was delicious! The Caesar dressing was perfect. I had the Sea Bass hich was cooked to perfection and my husbands veal and Pasta were delicious. We loved the tri gelato for dessert. We would return in a second. The service was impeccable!
Friendly staff & excellent service. Our first visit in last 4-5 yrs. Great ambiance . Both dishes had above average presentation but Halibut was slightly over-cooked & veal parmasean could have been more tender...will try again in future
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent.
We would go back in a heartbeat.
Food was excellent except for the bread, which tasted stale and of raw flour. Really extremely good lamb shanks. The wine list is small, but nice.
The hostess put us at a table that not only had a view of the bay but also their garden. For as full as the place got it wasn't noisy at all. The food was excellent!
Thank you for a wonderful evening 😁
Beautiful location for a Christmas dinner! Although i've been to Bodega Bay numerous times, I've never had the pleasure of dining at the Bay View until now. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and waitress. The food was excellent, seafood with an Italian flair. Our experience from start to finish was very nice and we plan to go back again soon!!
We have been spending the last two Christmas’s in Bodega Bay so this was our only option for a nice dinner out. I mention this as we have now given it 2 chances feeling the first time may have been a fluke. Ironically we had the same waitress both times! She was very friendly but a terrible waitress..... but, the worst was the food. Out of four of us one had a nice meal. Nothing special but adequate. Two of us ordered the pork tenderloin and I think they just heated up a frozen dinner. It was tough, dry and pretty inedible. Fortunately the dog had a great dinner....
Christmas Day, so limited menu. 3 out of 4 of us had great food. 4th was ok but not really to her taste, but was still good food. We were not so lucky in our waitress. She may have been new but really shouldn't have been on the floor. She was very inattentive to us. We waited way too long for everything. Several times we had to hail other servers, bus people, the manager, and even the bartender to get some service. They were all very good and efficient in getting what we needed. Luckily we were not in a hurry and everyone except our waitress were very nice and efficient. With a great waitress, my overall rating probably would have been 5 Stars!
WE had a lovely Christmas dinner here with a varied menu and excellent service.
Very nice! Waitress was the greatest. So sweet!
Will definitely be back.
The food was fantastic. Our server, Holly was very attentive and personable.
Everything was good, prices a little high. I had asked for mashed potatoes instead of vegetables with my order and the waiter says so you dont want any vegetables and I said well ok. When we got the bill they charged me $12.00 for a small portion of mashed potatoes which I thought was outrageous. I would of never done that if I had known. I didn't know I was going to get charged the $12.00, I feel he should of let me know. Other then that its a nice place and the food was good. I would definitely go back again.
Our server Mary was awesome. She was helpful, friendly, and attentive. We were celebrating our tenth anniversary, and she made it a lovely experience. Thanks!
Food was overpriced. Food was mediocre. Staff was friendly
My husband and I enjoyed both of our dinners, the food was delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great view of the bay. We highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Always delicious. Fresh ingredients, creative dishes, heavenly desserts. Gotta try the Lava cake! Love the ambiance and the fact that it isn’t noisy(like others in this area). The service was impeccable.
We celebrated our mother's 98th birthday at the Bay View Restaurant and it was perfect. The Italian food, seafood, and steak were all excellent. The wait staff was attentive but not overwhelming. The staff was also friendly and anxious to please. It was definitely a perfect evening and a memory to treasure. This was our first visit but we will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We'd eaten here several years ago and were very pleased to find the same delicious food, nice servers and excellent view. We will return again when we are in this area.
Everything was great, except the lamb special was extremely dry, and very difficult to eat. I was unable to finish it because the meat was so overcooked.
Dessert was great, the crab tower was great, and my partner's pasta was great.
Ordered veal scallopino.
It wouldn’t even yield to 5 minutes of chewing.
Replaced with seafood risotto, gruesome.
Gourmet au Bay is the place to go, half the price and 10x the quality.
Bayview restaurant is a sad sad place.
No one there was surprised we sent the veal back, must happen frequently!
Place is good, the food is average, nothing really special! The service is really good though.
Celebrated our anniversary with staying at the hotel and eating a nice Italian dinner here. We were the first guests arriving at 7 pm, but despite it being a bit empty, we had a great time and the food was excellent. Two more parties arrived during our dinner so maybe we were just early.
The Bay View Restaurant is cozy and warm, with a grand view of the water. There are also lovely gardens to look out on while dining.
Our dinners were very good. As a starter we enjoyed a delicious Eggplant Parmesan, which gave promise for the rest of the meal. The salmon dish was lovely, and the crab-stuffed filet mignon was delicious
While dinner was nicely served and very tasty, our experience was disturbed by the gentleman at the next table, who undertook a shameless public display of loneliness or, quite possibly dementia. After dialing a personal telephone call, he put his companion on speaker, in order that everyone nearby could clearly hear the conversation. Subsequently, he played music - albeit good music- from his telephone, again at a volume clearly audible to all those around him. On three occasions, this man sang along! The behavior began just as our first course arrived, and continued throughout the meal. The diner was a guest at the inn, so perhaps the management staff at the restaurant hesitated to suggest that he was disturbing others for that reason.
I believe the issue should have been discreetly handled, especially in a restaurant of this caliber. It is certainly a shame that it was not. We enjoyed our meal, but would hesitate to return, simply because of this unfortunate incident.
Good time with our grand kids. Limited menu for children.
Great food - creative dishes done well. Service was very good, but the food stole the show. Best seafood linguini I've had in a long time - great pasta with great sauce and toppings.
A lovely restaurant on Bodega Bay - feels special, food is great and good value.
We booked a dinner here for my parents' wedding anniversary. Given the high prices, I expected a top-notch experience. Instead, the servers were not very attentive - we had to ask repeatedly for water, bread, grated cheese, etc. The food was good but not great; my dad ordered the cioppiono and reported that one of the mussels was spoiled. Our table was located very close to the kitchen, and there was a lot of bang and clatter, as well as a frequent loud screech coming from a door or drawer -- when we mentioned it to the server, he shrugged it off.
There are not a lot of options for fine dining on this section of the coast, but I would skip this restaurant if you are expecting a top-notch meal.
Everyone was very pleased with the quality of the food. Very Special Italian themed menu, upscale. Gorgeous view. Quiet and elegant with particularly expert service.
Started out so nice. Great greeting. Great view table. Server was prompt. Then downhill. Gave server benefit of probably being trained ... Referred to wine selections as numbers. Asked many times as to how food was prepared. One word answers. Grilled. With? Tomatoes ... When in fact it was poached with potatoes and very soggy broccolini. I know the wine maker dinners get glowing reviews.
Our evening was disappointing. No compensation (maybe another choice?) was offered even tho I left my meal uneaten.
Went for restaurant week and loved it. Great food and service. We will be back. Our server was terrific as was the Maitre de.
Went during Restaurant Week and were very pleased. Excellent service and wonderful food. Would definitely go back more often now.
