31st Anniversary Brunxh, so good!!
I would really like to say maybe for recommending to a friend. We went for their Disney event which was advertised as 11-3 with a band and brunch. We arrived a little after 2 and the band was on break and then packed up. We also could not order off the brunch menu. Spoke to a manager and she was friendly and apologetic. She explained that they had more interest than they bargained for. She gave us a gift certificate to give them another try.
This place was a hot mess. Disney singalong brunch was a great idea in theory, but sadly we never even got to experience it! We had a reservation, which seemed to really annoy the already intolerable rude hostesses, who then placed us outside in the sun even though we had requested indoors. The brunch menu ran out, per the hostess who then didn’t even bother to bring us regulars menus. After 20 minutes of no waiter/waitress and no return of the hostess, we got up and left.
Went specifically for the jagerschnitzel and it was kind of disappointing. It was tasty, but I have had much better at other places. Not worth the price. Recommend revisiting that meal.
I know that the Biergarten is more of a young bar vibe, but we loved that we could bring our kids. They had kids menus, corn hole, and yummy food our kids could eat. As a parent that really makes the Biergarten one we will refer to everyone! Thanks for the great experience!
The service was outstanding and we would definitely come back again. Thank you Bay Street Biergarten for a great experience!
Everything was fantastic
On a busy rainy night it got crowded fast, we also had a reservation. Open table sharing style seating with large booths. These semi-circle half booths are exceptionally comfortable and I enjoyed just sitting there. Enjoyed the blackberry mule special, had three! I also enjoyed the kielbasa meat, served hotdog style. Looks like a nice place for larger parties.
Our server just disappeared. It took 40 minutes to get salads and when she appeared again she acted as nothing was wrong. The entire situation was topped off with a hot restaurant - felt like the air was broken or off. Do not recommend for a family dinner.
Service was a little lacking. For starters we ordered wings and she didn’t remember what dressing we ordered when she set it down. My brother has celiac and asked for a burger on a GF bun, they brought it out on a regular bun, they had to remake it, and then instead of apologizing she made it seem like he was the one who forgot to ask- definitely not the case. Beers took a long time to get. They also do t give you a check at the end. They tell you what you owe so you can’t even look at your bill. Its a bit tacky. You have to tip and all with her standing there. I selected a printed receipt but never got it. The food is good, prices are high, not sure the service is worth the 20% tip.
Great meal. Terrific pretzels. Quick and easy. Fortunate to have seen it and stopped.
Our waiter was very attentive and gave us some great beer recommendations. Lunch food was good too, especially the fried green tomatoes. We ate outside during off hours, (3:00 pm) so it was very quiet, but I can see this place rocking on weekend evenings.
Our server Kim was exceptional. She made the experience one that I would want to repeat over and over. She’s the best server I have had in a long time. The food was great. Loved the sweet tea and the cheese spatzle.
We received horrible service. We were there to watch the World Cup and had to ask several times to get it on one of the TV’s and missed kickoff. The music was way too loud.
Definitely glad we finally tried this place! The food was delicious. We especially loved the schnitzel, the sausages, and the tater tot appetizer. We will definitely be back.
I like coming out here for lunch or dinner :) the burgers are good :)
We made 8:30 reservations for outdoor seating. When we showed up, thr hostess was a little shocked after losing track of time. The hostess did not save us a table so we were seated at a large picnic table on a separate patio. But, we were outside on a nice evening. We were given a complementary appetizer from our server who was great!
Good food, great service, and super ambiance. Not only all of those, but their own parking lot -- never a given in downtown Charleston.
Definitely five stars!
Slow service but it was a busy night. Food was good but menu was limited
It's a beer joint. Liked the taps on some tables. Rated low on service bc although we made a reservation in the Seinfeld classic way " they did not HOLD" the reservation" and even after waiting at the bar and having an appetizer there front desk person had to be reminded twice that we were still waiting for a table. Food was good. Beware wings are hot! Atmosphere was very nice..... beersy.
Great food, great beer, and great atmosphere! I visited with a couple friends and we had a great time.
It can get raucous in there, but it was relatively quiet on Easter Sunday afternoon. The food is decent pub food. Don't expect more than that and you'll be happy. They do have a good selection of beer. And if you've not been here, but have been to a German Bier Hall, this won't be exactly like your German experience, in spite of the name. It's more like if Applebee's and a German Bier Hall had a love child. Some tables do have taps in them where you pay by the ounce. But you only have a limited number of choices of beers from them. And if you don't feel comfortable with your beer knowledge, the staff will be happy to help you make a selection.
Took a very long time for food and the German food was below our expectations. The beer was great and servers very pleasant. German potato salad was very undercooked and not authentic... our German grandmother was disappointed. The place was clean and had good atmosphere. Would come again for beer and tots but not dinner.
Me and my wife enjoyed ourselves self back home. This restaurant was a wonderful selection. The waitress Ashley was very nice and very knowledgeable. The beer and cider selection was great a lot of deferent options. Most definitely will come back!
Fun place...good beer...good service! Beer on the expensive side per pint.
Sat outside on a beautiful day. Enjoyed some delicious food and great beer!
Great spot to watch sports and enjoy a casual meal with friends and family. Burgers were prepared exactly as requested , servers friendly and efficient
A great find! Parking was easy and staff was friendly and knowledgeable about menu and beer choices.
Wonderful atmosphere and service. Such a pretty place. Felt like I was in Europe! The food and drinks were great too!
We enjoyed our visit very much. The waitress, while new, was very attentive and answered every question we had, even when she had to go find someone to help her with the answer. While we didn't use them, the beer taps at the table were quite the novelty! The beers on tap at the table simply weren't ones that interested us. The crazy tater tot appetizer was amazing!!! The reubens were not quite up to expectations for a german restaurant - light on ingredients, but the cheeseburger and BLT were great. The most amazing meal was the chicken breast dish which came out as a 1/2 chicken dish. It was quite delicious! We also enjoyed the pretzel ball and chocolate cake desserts. We enjoyed the variety of beer options too. The most disconcerting thing was the amount of noise. We understand about sports bars feeling the need to have the volume turned up, but there were only a few tables inside with people. The excessive volume for the basketball game going on in the background was quite distracting. Our waitress was kind enough to ask to turn it down - which resulted in a slight reduction in volume. If our allergies weren't so bad this spring, we would have opted to sit outside where the sound was not as bad. Would we go back? Yes. There are not enough negatives to keep me from wanting to go back and try more beers and more items off the menu - I recommend you give it a try, especially if you are a sports fan!
We didn’t receive a brunch menu, so wasn’t aware there was a separate one until after we got our food. Our server consistently forgot to bring us what we needed and didn’t take our order until we had already eaten our appetizer.
Loved this place. Wide menu. Excellent patio and inside atmosphere. The service was exceptional. Beer selection was wide and varied. Will definitely be back. It's a hidden jewel.
Food & drinks very tasty, really cool atmosphere, great service!
Great service. Fast and pleasant. Food was delicious.
My first time having brunch. Great staff. Great service. Amazing food! Just moved here and will definitely be coming back with friends to have a brunch again.
We were in Charleston for the Super Bowl. The Bay Street Biergarten was highly recommended by a family member. We were NOT disappointed. The food was good, there were plenty of TVs to watch the game and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our waitress Sara(h) was incredible. She was not phased by anything we threw at her. If you have a chance to visit, don't let it go by.
Food not to our liking. The mussels were dry and bathed in a thick pesto sauce. The pierogies were deep fried. The beer was good.
This is a great 20s crowd spot with something like 70 beers on tap! Food was above average but I would say it's a great meeting spot for young people! Not highly German authentic cuisine. Good service and easy to get to! A beer lovers paradise !
The bar tender was not good! He ignored me as he had conversation with other employees, he didn't want to give me nor the other guest a lime in our drinks. Young guy, black hair.
