   Absolutely loved my experience at Bavette's. The mac and cheese was phenomenal as well as the steaks. The dessert was so decadent and I will definitely be coming back. Our server was so attentive and very welcoming.

   Truly an exceptional meal. I never write reviews, but everything about this meal from start to finish was outstanding. We arrived early for our 7pm reservation, and were able to enjoy a cocktail on the first floor couches. I don't mind grabbing a drink at the bar, but we felt VIP enjoying a drink and people watching. We were seated downstairs, which had a much different vibe than the upstairs. Much more intimate, seemed like a completely different restaurant. Joel, our server, was great. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and attentive, while also giving us space to enjoy our meal. No glass ever went unfilled. My boyfriend kept making the comment that this was the best meal he had ever had. We've dined at most of the Chicago "notable" steakhouses, and this was by far my favorite. We ordered the shrimp de joghne for an appetizer - my mother is a French chef, so I'm not typically over-the-moon impressed with these types of dishes - but this was UNREAL. I would go back just to order 3 more of these. I ordered the bacon and grilled tomato salad and my boyfriend the wedge salad - also fantastic. Our meat was cooked to perfection, and my boyfriend and I were legitimately sad when the meal was over. We ordered the gigantic hot fudge sundae as a dessert (it was his 30th birthday) - which was so much fun. Came with every topping ever imaginable, which of course is necessary on your birthday. Overall, an exceptional experience and I can't wait to go back!

   We were told about this place from a local and he was right, one of the best places in Chicago. Our server Daniel, was very knowledgeable and helped create a great night for me and my friends.

   We went to Bavette's for my boyfriend's birthday. We ordered slightly dirty vodka martinis to start, and what we got were very, very, very dirty martinis. I was disappointed, because the last time we were there, the martinis were fabulous. I ended up only drinking a few sips of mine (in hindsight, I should have asked for a new one, as they were $18 each!) That was the disappointing part of the meal, the rest was very nice. We ordered the ribeye, crab and avocado salad, and Elote style corn - all were very good. We chose a nice Rose wine to drink with our meal, and we liked it very much. For dessert, we got the carrot cake, which was good (not great). Our server added a sparkler to the cake, and gave us a glass of wine from the table next to us (they brought their own), after she told them it was my boyfriend's birthday, which was very thoughtful. All in all, it was a lovely evening. The service was excellent, the food was very good, and the ambiance was perfect, as always.

   Easily one of the best steak places in Chicago. You can't beat the ambience or service. I also appreciate the simple and refined drink list.

   Absolutely outstanding. Our 3rd time at this restaurant and it never disappoints. Bone in filet is perfection, along with great oysters, bread/butter, salad, pomme frites, and desserts. Highly recommend!

    We went to Bavette's for my son's birthday. The atmosphere is classic dark wood steak house. The steaks came out juicy and flavorful and done to perfection. The fried chicken had a delicious crispy coating and a clean taste. The accompanying mashed potatoes for the chicken and fries for the steak frites were both stand outs. Our server Benjamin was charming , knowledgeable and professional making the experience all the more memorable. One caveat is the lighting though atmospheric is dim. The menu is online though so it shouldn't be a problem. All in all Bavette's is a must try.
