Excellent, attentive service, delicious Manhattan and wine. From the soup to the trout deviled eggs to the main entrees of pork chop and white fish sandwhich, everything tasted fresh and homemade. And, refreshingly for us, not overly seasoned with salt which seems to be the norm these days. We will definitely go back for lunch or dinner.

Incredibly surprised to have James Beard nominated food at such an accessible price. We tried more than 8 things and totaled under $100. Our server paced the courses very well, which gave us the chance to taste, talk, and enjoy our time at Bavette.

My wife and I had a very pleasant dinner at Bavette. The food was tasty and unique, the service was friendly and professional, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting.

Good as always. Be sure to make a reservation (easy with open table) as there is limited seating. In spite of the restaurant begin crowed last Saturday, our table was waiting.

Bavette is the perfect restaurant if you want delicious food and a quiet ambience.

Great service and amazing food.

Wonderful experience... we ended up with more than our reservation, and we were in no hurry. We enjoyed a fantastic meal and cocktails for close to four hours, staff was fantastic, good humor, good suggestions, great food. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more.

We felt so welcome and taken care of when we dined at Bavette. Greeted warmly at the door, we were given a table in the area we requested. Amy was our server. She explained popular menu items as well as personal favorites. All of it helped us choose. Our appetizers were great. The beef brezeola and the chicken mousse were delicious. I ordered the rigatoni pasta. It was so good. We’ll be back soon.

Bavette is the perfect "before theater" eating spot. Service is terrific, and personnel are friendly and helpful. Food was, as always, delicious. Keep up the great work!

The Paso Robles cab was outstanding and the rigatoni/short rib dish, savory. I shared that plate and the beet salad, and found the servings generous and easy to share. The server was attentive. I wish there were at least one more hot plate option.

Bavette is a wonderful place, with some of the best meats and sauces in the city. The service is attentive and friendly but not overbearing. It is a wonderful place. My only little issue is the loudness of recorded music, which makes it difficult to have conversation between any more than two people (we were a party of 6).

The food was excellent. The service was equally as amazing. The ambiance is a cool hip vibe and while it’s not a cheap night out the portions are large and the quality matches the price.

My husband and I went for lunch. We had the charcuterie and cheese plate, smoked trout deviled eggs and the roasted cauliflower salad. The eggs were really good, we couldn't eat them fast enough. The charcuterie plate was loaded. The salad was more than enough to share and ended the lunch perfectly. This was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Not really a place for a quick lunch. Service was great.

Always good
This time we met friends from the opposite side of town from where we live. Each couple ordered a salad to share and a sandwich to share. With a couple glasses of wine, it was perfect.

We love the food at Bavette and enjoy the ever-changing menu.

It was our first time there but our son and daughter-in-law had been before and recommended it. We liked it a lot.

Awesome wine dinner with great wine surpassed by food that was both exciting and sublime. Karen Bell is a modest but fabulous chef that shows yet again that her food alway matches the occasion. I can only say thank you Chef Bell for another great evening. You never disappoint!

I always enjoy dining at Bavette. The service is amiable and the food is unique and delicious. I especially love the trout stuffed eggs and the octopus.

Very fun place with excellent food! Had the charcuterie board and middle-eastern carrot salad.

We were there last weekend with total of 7 family members, and the food -as always - was interesting, delicious and beautifully presented. Salad of yellow beets, pears squash and pancetta was filling as an evening entree. Charcuterie platter and Jamon iberico platter were especially good for a group. Wines are always delicious.

Wonderful experience, food was amazing and our waitress was very attentive and did a great job. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed sharing the beef carpaccio, smoked trout deviled eggs, octopus and flourless chocolate cake. Only critique is that the carpaccio was very heavy on the flaky salt (we use and like salt, so that means it was really too much for “normal” people).

Service was perfect. Noise was manageable. A nice little dinner after Mikwaukee Chamber Theatre’s “Jeeves at Sea” matinee. We made a reservation, but this particular evening, we wouldn’t have needed one.

Although the parking in the Third Ward is a challenge, we found the restaurant to be delightful. Every table in the restaurant was full and customers were sitting at the counter.

I had the meatball sandwich, one person had the pork sandwich and another a salad. My meal was very good. Because the waitress was very busy she was able to pay a whole lot of attention to us.

It is a bit loud as the kitchen staff is working out in the open.

I do think it is a bit pricey for lunch, but knew that going in.

We did note on the reservation that we were celebrating a bday but it was never mentioned .
