The pasta is delicious and the pizza is fantastic. Nothing complicated, just outstanding!
Excellent Neopolitan style pizza. Their sauce is very fresh tasting. Pizza crust is nice and chewy. They also have a nice chicken pasta with a light cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes which is delicious. Make reservations or it's difficult to just walk in. I've been to both locations, but the Tampa one is much more cozy.
Another great meal at Bavaro’s - we go here every time we are in Tampa and it never disappoints!
Please allow me to tell you that from the beginning, Jasmine helped with even the smallest of details for our Girl’s Night dinner. Gary, as warm and welcoming as you could ever wish for... Instantly, made my Guests feel like Family. The food from the homemade ravioli pasta and vodka cream sauce pulled us in and forced us to vulture the last one. The Funghi pizza with the homemade dough in that brick oven, made me want to yell at myself for waiting so long since the last visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience and the Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato I bypassed my calorie counting for, just so I could smear it on my Nutella Pizza to call my night complete. I LOVE YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU DO!
The pizza is amazing and the location is convenient. Will definitely visit again soon
Bavaro’s is Real. It’s in no way trying to be something that it’s not. It is small, busy, noisy. It is energized and even when it’s not packed it’s still somewhat chaotic. That’s part of the charm - it’s real. The food is always spot on. You will always get a great glass of wine for a great price - and you will always walk away full, satisfied, and glad you took the time.
Food was excellent, service was extremely poor. Wait staff hanging around in the back texting and on their phone while forgetting about their customers and their requests.
Best Italian food in Tampa. Reminds me of neighbourhood restaurants in NYC and Buffalo.
Wonderful for pre-theatre dinning if you're going to the Straz. Everything looks terrific but I can never seem to get anything but pizza.
Delicious! Penna alla vodka and homemade tagliatelle bolognese were wonderful, as was the margherita pizza. So fresh - highly recommended! a bit loud but enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was very good and we all enjoyed our meal.
Great meal, great service. Our favorite pizza in Tampa!
Great pizza, killer meatballs! The staff gave good recommendations, everyone was attentive and nice!
Thought the service was good and the pizza very tasty. Crust is very think and a little soggy.
Locally owned. Delicious. Been here twice now with different people and everyone has been impressed with the food and atmosphere. Very cozy and intimate setting. If you are searching for a go to restaurant to take out of town friends to - this is it!
Awesome experience ....highly recommend this restaurant best pizza in Tampa !
My party of 4 adults and 2 children decided to try something different after Cirque du Soleil' s Volta last Saturday evening. We did not realize the Gasparilla Music Festival was going on so finding parking was a challenge. The nearest parking lot wanted $30 to park. We finally found parking and got to the restaurant a few minutes early. First impression: This place is smaller and louder than I thought. I wanted to be able to have dinner conversation but the level of noise made it impossible unless you were very close. There were two empty tables for 6, the hostess advised they were cleaning ours and it would be just a couple of minutes, could we wait outside? It was very crowded by the door with no good place to wait. My two kids and I stood outside under the awning since it was raining. The place was so busy that we kept having to go into the rain to make way for people going in/out. It took them between 5 - 10 minutes to come get us. (The hostess did apologize).
Now we're seated and we're hungry! We ordered the meatballs and antipasto plate to start. The meatballs were EXCELLENT. Their homemade sauce is absolutely delicious. The antipasto was good, a little too much arugala.
We ordered 3 pizzas: mushroom, pepperoni and margherita with the bufala mozzarella. They were all scrumptious! You eat them with a knife and fork because the dough is thin and soft.
Overall, I was very impressed. The pizza did taste like pizza that I tried in Italy a long time ago. It would be somewhere I'd recommend (and I already have!) for a novel idea and different than the norm pizza.
Was at the GMF & walked to Bavaro’s in between acts. Carrie Ann, our server was wonderful and the Sterling Vineyards Merlot with the olive, artichoke and sautéed spinach pizza really hit the spot.
Prior my arrival I had a diabetic episode and the manger was quick to assist me. First time there but not my last. The waitress was also top drawer!
Authentic, delicious italian dishes! It's our go-to place for a pre-theatre meal.
Will not visit again.
Good homemade pasta. Exceptionally nice server. I highly recommend it when you want something good to eat, but you're not in the mood for a splurge.
When I go see my Rangers play the lightning.....this is my spot! True Neapolitan pizza and spot in service! Never disappointed here and tough to find a true neo pizza!
We were greeted warmly and were seated quickly at our reservation time. The service was quick, attentive and pleasant. Our order came quickly and correct. The food was awesome. One of the best cannoli's that I ever had. The price was worth every penny. Highly recommend.
It was the perfect place to grab some good Italian pizzas in downtown Tampa. Food came out great and service was really good.
Went for an early dinner before a show at Straz Theatre. Shared an antipasto platter and pizza with some excellent wine. The antipasto was great, with a variety of cured meats, cheeses, olives and greens. The four cheese pizza (our server's recommendation) was cooked perfectly and oh so good. Our server couldn't have been nicer. Definitely a two thumbs up.
Our meal exceeded expectations. Wonderful service, intimate yet casual atmosphere that felt like family. Cheese ravioli in vodka sauce rivaled pasta we had in Italy. Cannoli melted in our mouth. We will be back!
Reservation was at 5:00, opening time. From 5:30 until we finished, our server was very nice but was extremely slow and very inattentive. He brought the wrong drinks and an order of pasta bolognese was sent back because the pasta was hard and semi-cooked. First time it was brought back just heated up, still semi-raw. New order came after everyone else at table had already finished their meals.
Fantastic! Been going for every Valentine’s Day for 6 years! The pizza was the shape of a heart. Super cute and the food is always great! Nutella dessert is oh so good!
Always a good experience at Bavaro's. Food is excellent, service is very good. The table arrangement is a bit crowded (it was a holiday, so likely placed an extra table or two) and can be a bit loud but it's worth it. There is also outdoor seating for when the weather is pleasant. The restaurant is near the waterfront for a great walk after (or before) dinner.
Light bite before the Bocelli concert
First time I tried to go there I quickly learned one needs reservations. So instead we ended up in a great Spanish (Spain Restaurant and Toma Bar) restaurant on the other side of the building. Came back to see a show at the Straz and this time we made a reservation. We were promptly seated. Waitress was efficient but scarce. Also found it odd that they didn't offer butter or olive oil for the bread basket. My wife's pasta was clearly made in house and was delicious. Her salad was very fresh but lightly dressed. My pizza was delicious. They make a very different dough. It is thin but not crisp. They mention it is made to be eaten with knife and fork, which you will do. I thought the prices were very reasonable for a nice place. This is a nice stop before seeing a show. Just remember to make a reservation. I'll definitely go back.
This is a favorite stop anytime I'm in Tampa--the wine is great and the pizza is the best, I can't recommend it enough. (Reservations recommended for weekends-it gets busy).
Excellent food and service as always!
Server was horrible. Not attentive what so ever, pizza came out with Ash and pieces of wood from the wood fire. Was never addressed until we pointed it out. Should have never even arrived at the table in that condition. Service was horrible, completely forgotten about,
No plates, napkins or silverware for 15 minutes, hostess kept checking on us bc sever wasn’t doing her job. Food was delicious when corrected. Won’t fault a restaurant bc of one bad server and presentation. Will give another try but service was worst I’ve had!
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Menu items were unique in terms of ingredients (mozzarella from the milk of domesticated Italian water buffalo & the Tipo 00 Italian flour used for pizza dough as well as the San Mariano tomatoes used in sauce) and loved the wood fired pizza. Cannellonis out of this world. First visit here but will be back for sure!
Excellent pasta dishes.
Wonderful service. Came early and seated us within 10 minutes. Our waitress was exceptional.
The wood fired pizza is wonderful as are the appetizers. Peroni on draft is a treat too. I would encourage management to bump up the lighting as virtually every table was using a cell phone to read the menu. That aside, it's a great spot.
Got there earlier than our 5:00 reservation after watching RiverDance but allowed us to sit outside and order a glass of wine. Service and food were great.
