Everything was outstanding!!!
Waiter forgot my meal order, then forgot my desert order, then tried to charge too much on my bill.
Overall, the food is not fulfilling. I ordered German ham and got s skimpy dish with rolled up sandwich meat.
Service was absolutely terrible. We ordered the 4 course tasting menu but the waiters were either disorganized or far too busy. We waited up to an hour between courses and at one point didn’t receive a course at all u TIL we brought it up. We had a friend not order the menu and his pacing was even more off. We didn’t receive the bread we ordered and were constantly badgered about whether we wanted more sparkling water (no, we just wanted our food). The portion size for the 4 course menu was quite small, particularly at that price point. The food itself was quite good and the room is beautiful. But the experience suffered greatly because of pacing and poorly set expectations
Bauhaus is a dining experience. Starting with the cocktails - unique flavors and combinations.
Nothing traditional. A grand way to start the experience. The menu was varied but surprising. You ordered schnitzel but it's different and the side of cranberry was an unexpected pairing! Or stuffed celery with the fish was a pleasant surprise. Their desserts were a wonderful way to end an elevated food experience. It's not cheap but you are guaranteed to have good food and a dining experience. I will be back. Brenda K.
Exceptional menu. Outstanding service. Perfect venue for a birthday celebration. Thank you for making it a memorable evening.
Excellent food and service as always!
Nice building ! Funky with great food !
The four course chef’s choice was amazing! Service was attentive and appropriate. My only complaint is, “ just my opinion” but the “ music” aka “ noise” was loud, fast and disturbing. It deteriorated the ambiance.
We found the room pleasant, although hard to visit in due to the loud ambient noise in the room. That said, the overall ambience was energetic and enjoyable to dine in. I imagine the room works better when the sun has come down. The service was also good and pleasant a definite plus to the evening. Sadly though the food was a major disappointment! The Wiener schnitzel was ordinary at best and not hot. Nor was the asparagus soup warm which made what may have been a fine soup into a mediocre one. Our guests weren’t specific but also didn’t find their meals as enjoyable as we all hoped they would be.
We consider Bauhaus a missed opportunity. It’s aim is to provide Vancouver a fine German dining experience and instead it provides German food that is far from fine even if the service was that of a fine restaurant.
We had the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing. Wonderful meal.
We came for a family dinner and everything was excellent. I look forward to another visit soon.
food tasted ok but i felt we were hurried by the waiter
This was our "fine dining" night in Vancouver and we picked the right place! We were a table of 4 and all got the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. At the end of the evening we all had different favorite courses but all agreed everything was wonderful. Our server, (young lady from France and I regret I cannot think of her name right now), was both professional and personable. The owner came by so you can tell there is interest in every aspect of his restaurant. GO, but do yourself a favor and get the tasting menu. Side note, at first it was odd that no bread was served but we all agreed we were glad it wasn't so we didn't fill up on it and the portions and pace were perfect. Thank you.
The cocktails were the highlight of the night. They were fantastic. The ravioli was cold inside and the soup was lukewarm. We were only offered a drink twice - we waited 20minutes for one drink which is fine if people forget but I wasn’t asked if I wanted another drink after I had finished that drink. This is supposed to be fine dinning and these little things shouldn’t be breezed over particularly for the price. The owner shouldn’t be sitting in the dinning room talking business and on his computer, which detracts from the overall ambiance. He was very friendly but this is something that should be noticed for fine dinning.
Food was great; although slightly more salty then either me or my partner would have liked. Service was alright, long periods of no one touching base though. But all in all food was fantastic!
The food was absolutely delicious and unique flavours comined! The waiter was extremely knowledgeable!!
Good food service was great we arrived late they were very accommodating service was friendly food was fantastic
Mother’s Day dinner. Amazing food! We loved every app, entre and dessert. This is a fantastic restaurant!
Very nice room. Food was good. Wine was not properly presented. Average service. Overall we were disappointed.
What a fabulous Restaurant! We decided to go with the Chef's Tasting Menu for the evening. I had the 4 course plus the wine pairing, my husband went with the 6 course. From the moment they served the cold Cucumber Soup with Dill Oil Shooter until we took our last bite of dessert, each and every bite was fabulous. I cannot recommend this place enough. The inspiration may come from Grandma's German kitchen, but the Chef definitely puts a new spin on the German classics. Absolutely wonderful experience!
Unique space that combine Old Gastown with Industrial elements.
Ordered a rare MacCaulley Zinfandel that paired perfectly with our dinner.
The schnitzel never fails to please.
Service was rushed and pressured from beginning and then appetizers took more than 20 minutes. When requested an entree that was not on the menu or request a special non meat accommodation the server acted bothered. Owner was around talking to guests and then sitting and having dinner with a group of 14 in the back. Entrees took almost 39 minutes and total meal time for two plates was almost two hours. Food was over salted and portions small on ala carte menu. The restaurant offered dessert for the slow meal. That’s all!
The food was tasty but the service was slow and not very attentive. It took 30 minutes for cocktails and the server had to be called over multiple times to order food and drinks. We will not be back.
Bauhaus was an unexpected treat that exceeded all our expectations! The entire experience was excellent from the moment we walked through the door. We are definitely coming back!
Highly recommendable for everyone who is in the Vancouver Arena. Probably best Restaurant in Town to date! 😊
Bauhaus was everything I’d hoped for! It was funky and fancy; with all the expectations of a high class restaurant and no pretension. Food was amazing; thoughtful and perfectly balanced in flavour. Our server was friendly and made us feel relaxed about the menu and never rushed us through. I cannot wait to go again!
Service and food excellent. Was disappointed I had brought a birthday cake for my nephews 16th birthday and was told it would cost me $3 per person at our table to serve it.
I have had Bauhaus’ desserts in the past and have not been impressed with them hence why I brought my own special dessert to celebrate this special occasion.
Needless to say I didn’t order dessert however, I enjoyed the rest of the meal and service. The Bauhaus made my nephew feel special by giving him a birthday card and a complimentary appetizer for his next visit.
Would definitely eat here again. Just no dessert.
One of the best dining experience in a long time. Had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Excellent food and choices for wine. Waiter was excellent. The wine expert definitely knew his wine and was able to answer all my questions. Defiantly looking to going back in the future.
Great comfort food and drink in an an eclectic atmosphere.
Everything was good except the beef and duck. We order middle rare it came on rare and three of us only have one bite. The services argue its middle rare but its almost a raw meat. They didn’t even offer to take the fee off but it’s not an money issue for us. So we let them charged us.
Two people served us. One good one not so good.
Very nice restaurant. Everything was perfect！ I like the way all food presented. It’s just like art, I can feel the chef put so many effort to the job
First time dining at Bauhaus and it was a great experience. We loved the food and we can’t wait to come back to try more!
Enjoyed amazing good white asparagus.
The food here is off the chart amazing and inventive. The ambiance, the staff, the decor and location and are wonderful. The owner walks the room and makes everyone feel so welcome. The service was amazing, on point and perfectly timed. The price was well worth what you get, we would have even paid more!
What a great find. The Tasting menu had elements of classic German cuisine with a super Contemporary approach. The portions were very fair for a 6 course menu and really tasty. The wine pairings were extremely well thought out with a few surprises along the way. Our server Kim (?) was a treat, knowledgeable and extremely personable. The only recommendation I'd make is for the food runner bringing the food to take the time to explain the courses with the clarity that Kim did. He did rush through the details a bit too quickly. A special shout out to the great bartender who developed great mocktail parings for my wife as she is a non-drinker. Much appreciated!
We were not impressed. The food was luke warm at best and overly salty. The service was not at a standard that would be expected for the reviews and price of food we have seen.
I would not go back.
Il faisait très froid
Un service très peu présent et 3 asperges 40 CAD
Great spot for a date night on a Friday. The food was amazing.
Awesome as usual! :)
