We ate outside and the Harbor view was wonderful. Food and service excellent. We will definitely come again whern we are in New York.
Lovely setting but the food is so-so..........I have been here twice and had the same experience both times. The view an ambience is great but the food is really lacking in pizazz.....limp salads with way too much dressing couldn't wait to get home to brush my teeth
Didn't know this place was even here until I looked at Opentable.
Definitely recommend eating outside on the patio on a nice day and night.
Very romantic to have dinner with that special someone while seeing the sunset set over the water.
The service was alright. The waiters weren't that attentive.
We ordered from the Prix Fix menu. Had the tuna tartar for an appetizer and salmon for the entree. Salmon was very moisture.
Had a nice Birthday lunch, but was turned off when I went inside to use the ladies room and the owner gave me a hard time thinking I was just coming in from the park. Actually he was very rude.
Pleasant good food beautiful view
The waiter had no personality and was not interested in what we
needed or wanted and the restaurant was not busy so there was no
excuse for him not coming around to check on us. He was sitting outside
at the bar with his coworkers.
I had my doubts aboutthis touristy destination/catering hall restuarant. It boasts of gorgeous NYC waterside complete with sailboats , sunsets and lady liberty. Clearly the view and real estate is aces, but I had a sunday mid day meal there with my mom and husband, and I must say i was pleasantly surprised. ( Granted my expectations were low) They were offering a pre-fix complete w app, main course, and dessert. For the price, it was a good deal by NYC standards ad the portions were very generous. Not bad at all. I wouldnt say fit for foodies, but a completely decent meal in a beautiful spot. Great for summer/early fall outdoor meals. I had a very funny cheery waiter with a genrous pour:)
Sunday Brunch on a bright sunny day on the terrace overlooking Governor's Island, what a treat! We all had different main course salads plus a pizza. Everyone enjoyed their food. It is pricey but you're paying for the view.
Thought the menu was somewhat limited and overpriced. Was not happy that on such a hot and humid day, we were unable to be seated inside, so we were forced to suffer in the sweltering heat. What if it was raining and lightning? This was unacceptable! We were drenched from the humidity and miserable, it was not the positive experience that I was hoping for. I think you need to work on your menu and be a little more flexible.
Perfect setting to entertain people from out of town, and perfect setting to celebrate an occasion.
Food was good, the outdoor setting was pleasant, but the waiter was a little bit cold and unfriendly, though. What a pity!
I needed a last minute hail mary for my anniversary and battery gardens definately came through. The scenery was insanely fantastic service as well as the food was great but not mind blowingly great lol ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening.
A little too pricy for the portion. My meal was technically a bite size for $38, but the taste was great.
Awesome sunset with a pink Champagne and a great ceviche.
We had a fabulous dinner, the Sea Bass is AMAZING as was everything else we ordered!! Service was fantastic and the view from Battery Park is just magical!!! Would highly recommend. We were there to talk about my daughter having her wedding there. When we left Battery Gardens we felt we found the perfect venue!!! Cant wait for her special day, but I will definately eat at Battery Gardens before than!!!!
The food was not as outstanding as the view.
My mom, sister and I all had a great outdoor lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We all liked it quite a bit . We would definitely recommend it!
The scenic view is what you are paying for here and it does not disappoint: beautiful open view of the NY harbor and the Statue of Liberty. The food is decent, but not great. My wife and I ordered the filet mignon and it was a bit dry (cooked medium) and lacked flavor. The clam chowder was very good though. As with anything in NYC, it was all overpriced. Dinner for 2 came to $180 including tip and 2 drinks each (no dessert). The outdoor seating is rather old and uncomfortable. View: 5 stars. Restaurant: 2.5. This is probably a better place to grab a sandwich and beer during the day--go somewhere nicer at night.
Although the food and scenery are spectacular, the restaurant has to fail. We were the only people dining at 9pm. The waitors hustled in and out but never did very much. The service was abysmal. Since we were a party of 7, the automatic tip precluded them from caring. The boss sat at the bar, which was closed, and then right outside. He gave no supervision to the staff. The chef should move on to a good place!
it was a very good experience. except there is no parking lot for customer.but the location be downtown of mahatan, so, all of us could understand.
