Bâton Rouge Steakhouse & Bar - Thornhill Ratings and Reviews
Had reservations for 6:15, was seated on time, spent 10 mins ordering drinks and reading the menu. Ordered at 6:25, food arrived at 6:32, not prepared to order and obviously pre cooked (taste accordingly). We wanted to spend some quality (date) time together and felt like “here’s your hat, get out”. Baton Rouge would rather turn tables quickly than make a memorable experience for their guests. Good, if the only thing you’re interested in is a VERY quick dinner.
I booked for a business dinner. Overall the food was good. Steak maybe slightly overcooked, but seasoned very well and tasted delicious! All nice fresh ingredients.
Our server did a good job. It can be difficult to handle a large table, but we were never lacking anything or waiting for anything.
We only had one small issue with the reservation. It was supposed to be for 14 people, but they only had us down for 12, and made some kind of nonsense excuse instead of just apologize. So we ended up being squeezed in. To make it worse the table next to us was seated for 14, but I only counted 11 people. Seems like somebody mixed it up.
Love coming to this Baton Rouge location versus some of the other ones in Toronto and the GTA area. It serves large portions and delicious food. I've gone to downtown locations and for the same price, I received half the portion of food and was disappointed. Baked potatoes are HUGE!
Food and service were great. Noise level was extremely loud. We could not hear each other at our own table.
Also did not like the comment made when I called to confirm my reservation. I was told my table was needed for 7pm. Thankful they didn’t try to kick us out early.
We were seated at a round table surrounded by 2 big groups. There were hardly any room for anyone to pass by or to move. The placed was so cramped that we could not even enjoy the dinner properly and there was also 2 hour seating limit - I think that's a joke. Salmon was burnt, filet mignons were bland. Don't think they can handle the capacity. Wasn't the first time there but it would be the last time.
We book this restaurant twice a year for a team dinner. The quality of food is very consistent (consistently good), and the variety is perfect for the size of group we have.
Each time we have eaten there, we have had the same waiter. He is pleasant and efficient.
Their prime rib and pasta are cooked to perfection. Unlike the other steakhouses, Baton Rouge also has kids menu so the little ones are not forced to eat New York sirloin. I think it's a good restaurant with balanced family friendliness and upscale atomphere.
Good food, reasonably priced, friendly and prompt service. If you want to impress your lady, if you want to show class and refinement in your tastes, this is the place. It's for gentlemen to take their ladies, and ladies to take their gentlemen. It's also great for groups of friends who want experience and enjoy a thoughtful and intimate dining experience together, away from your every day restaurant.
We love going to Baton Rouge. However, we have discussed over our last few visits that the steak seems unseasoned and requires salt. We are very surprised as we used to really love their steak. Not sure what has changed but flavor is everything and they are lacking. It is not only restricted to this location that we have felt this way. For the money, we will be considering elsewhere for future dinners.
The food was Ok but service was very bad. We proposed a table near the bar and we asked for another table, the hostess doesn't seem happy about that. They spill half of our bottle of wine on my kid and they propose us to chose a wine by the glass to replace it. That glass never came and we had to ask for it twice. They brought us a wine which was not the one we ordered initially.
Very bad customer experience from the beginning to the end.
The restaurant was very noisy from where we were sitting, noise was not from being busy but from the chef that was constantly yelling at his staff at the back. My husband ask to speak to a manager and brought it to his attention that it was not professional at all treating staff in that matter. Furthermore, not a great experience this time celebrating my sons sweet 16.
We were a large group, 8 adults and 2 children. Had a good meal, great service which is not always easy with a group that size. Steaks were excellent - and priced reasonably compared to other steakhouses. Wine selection is more limited compared to other places but fine for a family dinner.
