Opened in June of 2009 and housed in an historic 1920’s building in Seattle’s Old Ballard neighborhood, Bastille Café & Bar is a bustling homage to a Parisian brasserie. Owners Deming Maclise and James Weimann scoured Paris flea markets and local salvage stores for vintage accessories to create a truly authentic feel. From the white subway tiles, antique mirrors, and Paris Metro clock to the zinc-topped bar and stunning crystal chandelier that takes center stage in the Back Bar; they’ve truly hit the mark. Chef Jason Stoneburner creates French focused cuisine inspired by the abundance of seasonal product found locally---and it doesn’t get any more local than the restaurants 4500-square-foot organic rooftop garden. The wine list is French focused with a smattering of NW wines and the bar offers an extensive collection of absinthe.

Special events & promotions
Christmas Eve dinner is served from 4pm - 8pm. The regular menu will be available in addition to an extended plats du jour menu.
New Year's Eve dinner is served from 5pm to midnight. The regular menu will be available in addition to caviar, oysters, flights of Champagne, and more special items to keep the evening festive. The Back Bar will be open until 2am for revelers celebrating along Ballard Ave.

I was very impressed with Bastille! I had heard good things, but often places disappoint. Bastille did not! We ordered one mocktail, bread, the chicken entree and the bone marrow dumplings entree. Both were super good, the dumplings a little on the salty side but still delish. Loved the overall ambience, our server was very nice and we were in and out in an hour !

Service was great. Everyone for hostess to wait staff were friendly and accommodating. Cocktails were unique and well balanced.
Great food as always with good daily specials.
Love the ambiance.

It was our first time here and the food wasn’t excellent but it wasn’t terrible. My fiancé said his steak was kind of chewy even though he got it rare but other than that, no other complaints.

Our server was knowledgeable and was able to effectively read our body language, one of the best server experiences I’ve ever experienced. The atmosphere was a chic industrial, and there was a modded turn of the century oven (I believe) turned into a bussing station. The food was excellent, my girlfriend claimed to have had the best scallops dish there, as well as excellent whiskey cocktails. We will definitely come back for another date night down the road.

The only time we could get a Valentines dinner reservation was 5:15 but, it turned out just fine— great food great service!

Plane was nice and food was okay nothing I was thrilled about it.. maybe Hapi hour next time.
