I have been eating here for years and buy at least 1000$ in gift cards every year for family and friends gifts. Food has always been good. Unfortunately I’ve tried my last steak. I’ve worked my way through the delmonico ribeye to the filet mignon. The last 4 steaks have been ordered medium rare but cooked to medium well/well. The fish was amazing, but whoever is grilling the steaks has forced me to never order a steak again. If you would like a good meal, it’s a fine place to eat. If you would like a good steak, I suggest johnnys Italian steakhouse instead.
As always great steak properly prepared. Excellent choices, great service. Go there!
We absolutely love your restaurant, the food is excellent and the service wonderful! We were celebrating our Anniversary and the complimentary champagne was a very nice touch. Our waiter Cameron was terrific!!
Appetizer: calamari was OUT of this world.
Salads: house salad was fresh.
Entree: excellent NY strip 12 oz. Excellent steak gorgonzola.
Sides: baked potato was fine, carmelized Brussels sprouts tasty but undercooked.
Good food and excellent service!
Dinner with friends
Absolutely tops in fine dining. The steaks cannot be beat! Better than any steak house in Dallas, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, or NYC! Service was fabulous. We go there for all special occasions!
Went there on a Friday night with 5 others. Used Open Table for a table in the bar. Very noisy evening and everyone had a hard time hearing conversation. My salmon avocado blt was ok-used to be better. Ciabatta bread was dry. Sandwich lacked much flavor. Fries were excellent. Others ordered burgers which were ok. One ordered a salad which she said was ok. Just a meh visit.
Good atmosphere. The greeting was awkward. Some seating was constrained by interior building column. The food was excellent though somewhat pricy. The service was excellent and thoughtful. This is a nice place for a special occasion.
A great place to enjoy a dinner. We like to return to see what new choices are available.
I was very disappointed this time ... I am assuming that one should not eat at the Chop House on Monday. Three out of four meals were not even close to par!
Great staff and great food! Wine list is too pricey given the selection available. Will definitely return though, great steaks.
The experience with our waitress was great! My wife and I brought our son and his wife who has in the past grave us gift cards. They have never eaten at Bass Street and we wanted to treat them. The only negative was a side dish of Brussels sprouts that we found not to be tender! Otherwise, we enjoyed the meal.
I got the bone in filet ordered medium rare. When I first cut into it I thought it looked a little dry but once I started eating it, it was one of the best filet's I've ever had. The mac & cheese was also spectacular. The mashed potatoes weren't bad, were just acceptable. Our waitress was great as well as the hostess. A little pricey but was expected at a nice chop house.
Great food. Service was great, but very slow. Not a complaint- just what it was.
Nice atmosphere. Good wine selection. Good value for an upscale steak house. Friendly, attentive staff.
I will start out by saying our waiter was excellent, he made our night worth it. We came here for an anniversary dinner thinking this was going to be the spot for elegance, great food and ambience. We ordered Old fashions to start. They came with pellet ice which is not how you serve these classic drinks and the taste was ok at best. We followed with the onion rings for an appetizer, they were undercooked. Ordered the bone in filet with lobster risotto and blue cheese potatoes to share. I have to say the filet was phenomenal! However the risotto was inedible (tasted of pure fennel), and the potatoes were undercooked. My husband ordered the pasta with scallops. The scallops were delicious atop of a flavorless pasta. I really wanted to like this place but I kept being disappointed over and over. If you are looking for a good steak you can find it here although you will be paying $$ for it. But that’s all that I would recommend. Most likely will not be back.
This was our first visit to Bass Street Chop House. Having perused the menu prior to our coming and reading multiple reviews, I was expecting a phenomenal dining experience. While it was good, the quality of the food certainly did not match the prices we paid. It was good, but I’ve had better food for a lot less money.
Friends in from Houston
Great service from John, added to the excellent sea food & steaks we had.
Nice wine list also.
The prices are far to high for the quality of the steaks. I wouldn’t recommend choosing a steak here as buying a select cut and grilling it yourself will prove to be a much more satisfying experience. The wait staff was extremely attentive and very good at their jobs.
Amazing food as always. Our favorite local spot!!!
Service is always impeccable! From the owner to the hostess to the servers! Extremely accommodating and pleasant atmosphere with excellent food! Would highly suggest the Fish and Chips if ordering from bar menu. Fresh Sheet always fantastic options, as well!
Excellent service and menu selection. I couldn’t be more pleased to get great tasting seafood in a midwestern state. The king prawns were some of the best I have ever had.
For the price paid, the food was below average. Service and ambiance was great but the food and cost not worth it.
All of our steaks are over cooked, and the general flavor was not very good.
Great food & outstanding service. It isn't cheap - but worth the cost for a special occasion.
Always a good choice. When in town, try to find a reason to go to Bass St. Our experience this past weekend was especially nice. Great meeting our server Larry. Excellent recommendations, personality, and conversation. Thanks Larry!
My son and I had dinner while visiting him for Family Weekend at college. This was our second visit to Bass Street Chophouse and it was just as great. Food is always flavorful, hot and awesome. Service is friendly, very attentive and they do a wonderful job.
We’ve been to Bass Street numerous times and this is the first time we’ve not been happy with the service. Our server was very slow, did not come back to the table to check on us, and he was noticeably perspiring. The bar area was busy, but no busier than other times we’ve been there. Food however was very good.
Dissapointing visit this time. The food is generally very good, but not worth the money this cisit
Everything about Bass Street Chop House is outstanding.
The Staff were Great! The food did not expectations; salty & fishy.
Iowa pork chop looked like a cover photo for a food magazine but the taste was boring and average. The dish needed a sauce with some punch. Up sell for soup was not appreciated because the waiter implied it was included.
Very good meal and service. Waiter was very attentive .
Took my brother here to celebrate his birthday and pending wedding. The sides are huge and can easily feed 3-4 people, we had enough leftover for steak and eggs the next morning.
Everything was very good, except my medium delmonico came back to the table undercooked not once but twice. Pretty disappointing for a restaurant that prides themselves on their steaks.
When Larry is providing service to your table you know you are guaranteed everything will go well.
We met another couple for dinner and had a great time. In addition to our regular meals, we were able to order a small amount of Kobe beef that was the best meat we had ever eaten. Definitely worth trying
Always have great service and food. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Best Manhattans in town.
