Bass Street Chop House
Bass Street Chop House offers the Quad Cities, private dining spaces for special events and a full service bar. The Chop Bar offers signature cocktails, extensive wine, bourbon, single malt scotch collection, as well as a Chop Bar Menu featuring outstanding sandwiches.
Fabulous experience. First rate. Server staff just outstanding. A diverse menu and every item first rate. A warm friendly atmosphere and very comfortable. Offered great selection in the menu. The steak features are particularly good. By far the best dining in the Quad Cities and rivals the finest restaurants in Chicago. At the end of the evening I was so impressed I bought a gift card for the general manager of my company.
Very good overall. The risotto was clumped together and was very very Al dente, like white rice at a Chinese place! My husband had to have his steak taken back because the blue cheese melt on top was black. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection.. However, our needs were met with no questions and the situation was handled very well. We will be back, but never getting the risotto again!
P.s. The beef tips were AMAZING!!
Steak was overdone at first but waiter was quick to replace with a perfectly cooked steak.
Food excellent, service above and beyond exceptional... Don server was awesome! Only thing missing for me was a red dressing for salad... everything else perfect!
Celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary with friends. Total excellent experience. Food, service and environment were all perfect.
Bass Street is always our go to place for special occasions. Food and service are always exceptional.
I’ve been going here for years, they have never disappointed.
We had a party of 8 and used the private back room. The service was great as was the food.
Food was outstanding. With a special going on they were understaffed. So the service was slow. But a great meal as always.
The service was outstanding, food was really tasty and the staff was very helpful, polite and friendly. I will be taking my family to have dinner very soon.
Took my wife there for her birthday, it is one of our top three choices in the area for special occasions. Great appetizers, great environment and the portabella mushroom fries are incredible. Friday nights are busy so you get the hustle and bustle of a busy place but there is something here for everyone. Top of the line restaurant with a great wine selection, we have never been disappointed.
Excellent meal as always. One of the top choices in the Quad Cities.
I had been waiting a while to try this place out as it seemed like it would be one of the nicer restaurants in the area. I knew it was pricey but I was expecting a much nicer experience than I had. I will say it was a Thursday evening so it was not busy. The hostess took our coats and hung them up. She sat us at our table which was setup for us, personally.(nice touch) the waiter was excellent and knowledgeable about the different dishes. We ended up getting the Tataki tuna which was very good. This was brought first as our appetizer. Our salad, which came with the meal, was good and the Parmesan dressing was a nice touch. The salad was rather plain though with only 3 slices of cucumber and 3 halves of grapes tomatoes. We did not get bread until after our appetizer and salad which seemed odd to me. Bread was not that great and neither was the herb butter. My wife got the special which was crab stuffed salmon w/ asparagus and Bernaise or hollandaise sauce. She liked it but it was not knock your socks off. The asparagus was excellent. I got the 14oz prime delmonico (ribeye). I was not impressed with the steak. For the cost, I was expecting something more extravagant. Flavor was not bad but fairly plain. Meat was super tender and could almost be torn apart. Fineness was med rare and on point. Quality was good, but value was low. Our sides were the blue cheese potatoes which are roasted potatoes with blue cheese all over them., and the grilled asparagus which was great! Value was not bad for either since they feed 2 people. Overall, I will probably not go back for the main restaurant but I will try the bar out next time as they have a different menu.
Came here for an anniversary dinner. I arrived a few hours prior to our reservation to pick out a bottle of Champagne and leave flowers. The host, managers, and especially Drew were very helpful for making that night an experience. We were seated in a nice booth with the champagne chilled in a nice bucket and glasses already at the table. Drew was very personable and professional. He has mastered the art of balancing humor and professionalism to make us comfortable and put smiles on our faces. Drew never oversold either of us. He didn't pressure us to get the most expensive stuff. Although I would have loved that wagyu beef! My prime NY strip was fantastic. She enjoyed her filet and the brussel sprouts and I did my best to conquer a very ambitious portion of broccoli. We ate the chocolate lava cake so fast it was gone before our desert mudslide drink arrived. All of the staff seems very friendly and knowledgeable. Bri(friend and former coworker) came over to say hi and give us the scoop on what she really liked. I can't wait to try some other amazing things at bass street! Thank you again Drew, Bri, and the rest of the staff for a wonderful night.
The waiter was not responsive to my requests and preferred to follow his own, or the businesses own methodology to serving customers, which seemed like a strict adherence to their serving procedures. Example: I wanted to order right away but he was insistent I wait. I also paid $12 additional dollars to add just 4 ounces of steak on my salad. That is price gouging. For a place that is so expensive that have very little to offer for appetizers. They need to add chips, wings, fried shrimp and mussels for appetizers as most of the few appetizer choices they offered were not very desirable. We had to order a side of onion rings for an appetizer. It's a nice place but very disappointing overall in terms of food choices, cost and service.
Always a pleasure going to Bass street, I have never had a bad experience.
New Years Eve was packed, and yet Bass Street did not dissapoint! Rhee was the wait staff.....despite being incredibly busy, she kept cool, professional. Larry had other section and noticed he kept his cool too. Good job guys!
We had a little issue getting seated, seemed like they were struggling in getting people in at the time of their reservation but that soon passed. The food was outstanding....service the same. It's always fun here and good food but they were over the top this New Years Eve....
Delicious meals and fun atmosphere for a special night out with spouse.
Enjoyed the evening with family. As usual, the food and service were excellent (To be honest, I have never had a bad experience at Bass Street).
My husband and I were on date night and had a great time! Our server was Don who was fantastic! Bass Street never disappoints!
No blue cheese crumbles on salad as stated
We took our 96 year old Mother out for dinner the day after Christmas, and they were very helpful. The steaks were excellent!
Best prime rib ever! I highly recommend it. It was a superb Christmas dinner experience.
Love Bass Street. Best food and dining experience in the Quad Cities. Always enjoy my visits to Bass Street.
Larry did a great job.
Very good food and service. Disappointing that our celebration that was stated on our reservation was not acknowledged at all.
Food was great ;table service was better. Drinks from bar were best. Confusion with checking in and less than stellar service with being greeted upon arrival. Restaurant is extremely loud.
Had dinner at Bass Street in February 2018. Sat in the bar area. It was an enjoyable evening and our meal was very good.
Visited in December 2018 and it was a totally different experience. Sat in the bar area again however the overall place was extremely loud! Four of us seated at a table. We were close to screaming to carry on a conversation. It was awful!
Two of us ordered the prime meatloaf sandwich. Neither us of could identify it as meatloaf. Mystery meat is our guess. Very dense whatever it was. The gravy had a particular taste. Could have been burnt or some type of powered gravy to which they added water.
The whole evening was a disappointment. At this time not sure if we will ever come back. Definitely would not recommend the bar area or bar menu.
We have traditionally eaten at Johnnys Italian Steakhouse over the years but found Bass Street a superior alternative! The atmosphere is bustling with loud laughter and guests enjoying their meals, the servers are attentive and knowledable. We had reservations for 6:30pm and they were out of porterhouse already-a disappointment. Appetizers and drinks are always phenomenal!
We have been here 3 times in the last two months and each time something on the menu was not available. We are aware this happens at times but this most recent time 3 times the waiter and I think the third time the manager had to come tell us they were out of things we ordered. We were there on a Thursday night with 5:45 reservations. The oysters they were out of was what my son for his birthday was really looking forward to. Overall we love this restaurant but don’t know whether to choose it if they are out of several things very early in the evening.
The prime porterhouse steak was the best we ever had
Never disappointed. A unique and special place with delicious food. Love getting the monthly email with features and events. The bar side with its own menu is the key for us.
I have been eating here for years and buy at least 1000$ in gift cards every year for family and friends gifts. Food has always been good. Unfortunately I’ve tried my last steak. I’ve worked my way through the delmonico ribeye to the filet mignon. The last 4 steaks have been ordered medium rare but cooked to medium well/well. The fish was amazing, but whoever is grilling the steaks has forced me to never order a steak again. If you would like a good meal, it’s a fine place to eat. If you would like a good steak, I suggest johnnys Italian steakhouse instead.
As always great steak properly prepared. Excellent choices, great service. Go there!
We absolutely love your restaurant, the food is excellent and the service wonderful! We were celebrating our Anniversary and the complimentary champagne was a very nice touch. Our waiter Cameron was terrific!!
Appetizer: calamari was OUT of this world.
Salads: house salad was fresh.
Entree: excellent NY strip 12 oz. Excellent steak gorgonzola.
Sides: baked potato was fine, carmelized Brussels sprouts tasty but undercooked.
Good food and excellent service!
Dinner with friends
Absolutely tops in fine dining. The steaks cannot be beat! Better than any steak house in Dallas, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, or NYC! Service was fabulous. We go there for all special occasions!
