I arrived at Bask only to find out it wasn’t open! I had received the confirmation request text and confirmed. After 15 minutes of searching and two unanswered calls to the restaurant, I found the number to call Open Table about the problem. I was promised 1000 points for my trouble and that my reservation would be cancelled I’in a few minutes. My receiving this survey causes me to doubt that. Hopefully I’ll still get the 1000 points. I can’t imagine this happening to a large group or a business related lunch!
The food was great, but the service was very spotty. The reservation meant nothing. We were on a limited time frame so we were hoping to be seated right away and instead waited almost 90 min. Other parties of the same size came in without reservations after us and were seated before us. The management was very rude as well when asked about this. When we were seated, our server did her best, but was clearly overworked and rushed us through our meal. Would recommend for food and if you don't mind a wait that could be of any amount.
The food was excellent and perfect for our party of 6! Everyone loved the food and enjoyed the casual atmosphere! We will be back on our next trip to San Francisco! Highly recommended!
Good food, friendly staff, but...they made us wait literally an hour for our reservation.
As "Seinfeld" said, "You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them."

Great Gluten Free options and they take cross contamination very seriously! Plus the food is wonderful!
The Tiger Prawns and Mushroom tapas were excellent. The crab Croquettes were ok, nice flavor but a little gummy. I thought the wine was expensive; $13 for a glass of pinot grigio. This was more than the food cost.
I would not recommend this restaurant for large parties. They will not split the bill and will make the billing process severely painful. Go to barrel room instead.
We were not greeted upon arrival, my friend and I even wondered if we entered thru the wrong door. I had to go toward the kitchen to get acknowledged by a gruff waitress that shooed me away as if she had already told me our table was being set up. Waters came promptly. But the food lacked authenticity. Either too salty (gambas and patats) or too bland (day old tortilla española). The gambas with mussels were totally off, as if they added and orange or grapefruit juice to the sauce, where traditionally it’s just olive oil and slow cooked garlic. Unfortunately, overall I was underwhelmed with my experience.
Excellent food and service as always!! I have been here several times when we visit SF and am never disappointed.
After we waited outside the restaurant for 10 minutes, Bask gave our table away right in front of us even though we had made a prior reservation.
I made a reservation through OpenTable for 7:45pm on a Friday night, and when we got there the hostess explained that there would be at least an hour wait. I'm not sure where the disconnect was between the restaurant and OpenTable, but it certainly was not a good experience. I've heard good things about this restaurant but they need to figure out how to make sure reservations can be honored.
Seems like they have changed the owner and chef. Some of the items we ordered didn’t taste very well. They are incredibly understaffed for a Friday night, we had to walk to the waiter several times asking for our check, will probably not go back any time soon.
Wonderful place. Worth going. The happy hour is great.
Service was slow (10-15 minutes to order drinks) at the beginning of the evening and got continually worse as the restaurant filled up.
