Ambiance, food and service were wonderful. A very special Valentine experience. However they didn’t seem to have record of our reservation but were able to quickly accommodate us.
Excellent food and experience for Valentine's Day. Even had live music for the night.
Friendly staff, but food could have been better, possibly due to Valentine's Day...(?)
We made a 9:15pm reservation on a Wednesday evening- you might consider not offering late reservations, unless you are busy. Also, if you want to close the restaurant because of low patronage then take us up on our offer to come back another time, instead of insisting that it’s not an issue and seating us, but then clearing our dishes before we are done and shooing us out (oddly our table was cleared by the bartender, not our waiter). Also, if you have rules surrounding your half price wine requiring ordering an entree that should be stated in writing or at the very least the customer should be notified of said rule before you open the wine bottle. It also seems odd for a tapas place to require an entree order.
My friend and I decided to try Basil’s for lunch. The service was great as was the food. We will definitely go back.
Excellent! We ordered a wide variety of small plates and entrees and everything was fantastic. The service is perfect, not over the top but very attentive.
We love coming to Basil's for special occasions or just getting together. I went with my mom and daughter. I love the Mediterranean Shrimp. The specials were excellent too.
My girlfriend and I went to Basil's for her birthday dinner and it was fantastic! Small and intimate location, but the food and wine was fantastic. We both ordered the specials and thoroughly enjoyed them both! Can't wait to go back!
It was perfect. We had 12 people fir a bday dinner. Everyone had a delicious meal the staff was friendly and very accommodating. Great evening
I love Basils and have been going there for two years. Sometimes I'm there two to three times in a week. Food is always excellent and I love the staff.
Great local place with lovely people and yummy food.
The restaurant service was perfectly paced, the prix fixed menu for Christmas night was very nice and we had a wonderful evening!
Christmas Eve special menu. Beautifully prepared grouper and filet mignon. Delicious vegetables.
Service felt rushed so, next year, we'll book earlier. Everyone wants to be home on Christmas Eve.
Really enjoyed Christmas Eve prix fixe menu, delicious choices and great cocktails, will look forward to next visit.
We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it, but these ratings are based on a special expensive fixed priced menu from Christmas Eve that was more continental than Mediterranean. We were unaware of this menu as it was not noted on the confirmation or reminder emails nor on the website. It was not what we expected or wanted, so we were disappointed.
A group of four who have a tradition of going out on Christmas Eve. Comments after the meal were that we needed to come back next year. Food was delicious. Limited menu options for Christmas Eve.. all 3 course meals.. but something for everyone. Not what I would consider inventive, but excellent quality. A bit pricey, but it was the holiday. Restaurant was comfortable with good space between the tables. Noise level was that of happy diners, but still able to have a conversation. Service was great. We had reservations and were seated right away. What more can you ask for???
As always, food and service were fabulous. Love this place!
Six of us met here for our annual Christmas social. I made the reservation for 2pm some weeks ago. The morning of (at 11:30a.m.) I received a call from the restaurant asking me if I was coming. I said yes, and the caller went on to say we close at 2:30. Huh?! We got to Basil's on time and was told that the kitchen was closing and they needed all food orders by 2:15, 2:20 at the latest. One of the six was running late and I had to call her to take her order over the phone. We asked the server if our 2pm reservation was a problem, why were we allowed to make it. She explained this was a disconnect between Open Table and the restaurant. The hostess was accommodating but clearly stressed which made us feel pressure. She tried her best even scrounging up some free desert for us after first replying we couldn't order it because the kitchen was closed. The food overall was good and everyone enjoyed it but as we sat there, the valet came and returned our keys saying he was moving on to another location and we watched the server and what we assumed was the kitchen staff leave. All that remained was the owner's brother-in-law who was in a separate room away from us. I suggest Open Table confirm last seating with Basil's so no other guest feel as if they are imposing.
This is a good place for a date or with a group of friends. Great food and the service was excellent.
Have dined at Basil's for 25 years, never disappoints!
In a word, nice.
The Sunday brunch was sparse, meaning there was almost no one there - but the food was good, and the service while not as prompt as I would expect for an empty restaurant was acceptable.
Parking is impossible in the area, and there was no valet that afternoon, so I lucked out and got a spot on the street. The area is nice, but definitely somewhat of an acquired local taste.
Excellent place for business function and service was great
Great neighborhood Mediterranean restaurant. Delicious tapas, friendly and prompt service. Absolutely fanstastic meal!
Brunch is wonderful. The place is gorgeous
Excellent food and service! Everything is so fresh. Will be back soon!
One of the best restaurants in Atlanta! I love this spot!
Great restaurant and love the food! All the women with us were cold because the outside door was left open often. We also had to move because the guitar player needed the door open to get set up...? He was good but it caused some difficulties for our group...may not go back as a result of low focus on customers...
One of my favorite restaurants!
Wonderful spot great service, delicious food. I look forward to my next visit
First time there. Great food and outstanding service.
Went for brunch. Staff didn't seem prepared for our 6 member goup, although only a few brunch guests were present. Our waiter was reserved and did not match our fun group celebrating my son's relocation. The brunch was recommended by family members who had been there in the past and noted that food and drinks were better on the previous visit. I won't give up on them because it is a good value and will try another time.
We were looking for a quiet place to have a nice chatty lunch and found it. Everybody enjoyed their food and the service was good.
The food is excellent! Fresh and different. I wasn't aware that Basil's has been around for years. It is a hidden gem!
Go ! Great food - fabulous service - love outdoor patio!!!
I absolutely loved the atmosphere and ambiance of Basil restaurant. It was my birthday and it was absolutely a memorable occasion. The Food was beyond my expectations, i will definitely go back. Love it!
Loved the food, atmosphere, service and wonderful live music on Friday evening.
We loved it! Our group of 8 was celebrating a birthday and it was a perfect evening for outdoor dining. In addition, there was live music which was excellent!
We went to Basil's from Brunch. The crowd was very light and therefore, we received our food order quickly. We both ordered coffee, and there were grounds in it on the original cup and the refill. We thought this was odd, since we went at brunch, and figured this was a popular brunch drink! The valet also was a bit odd. We discovered later that most people park on the street. We pulled all the way into the back lot, circled around and had to ask the guy if he was the valet. Overall the food was good, my eggs for the omelette were a bit undercooked and runny, but the flavor was good. The breakfast potatoes were delicious!
Went for a late lunch on a Wednesday. We received a small bruschetta type before we placed our food order which was a nice touch. We were celebrating our anniversary so had some afternoon cocktails (day drinking!) from the specialty menu and both were wonderful. I had the Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad. The salmon was done perfectly and the salad was a great accompaniment. Hubby had the Lamb Burger with Cilantro Slaw and both were delicious. The lamb burger was so big, we took half of it home and enjoyed it the next day...just as good then. We have been to this restaurant several times for lunch, but plan to go for dinner soon. The dining room, with all of its original artwork, and outdoor porch seating are so pretty and probably look fabulous at night.
Good variety. Nice layout with porch seating.
