Came for Seattle Restaurant Week. Ahi Tuna was great, as were the crab cakes. Salmon was fairly mediocre for the price. Got the crème brulee for desert but it was more like a custard. Perhaps they forgot to fire the top? Was definitely NOT what I'd consider Crème Brulee.
Unfortunately the service was BEYOND SLOW. There were perhaps only 5-6 other tables seated, with multiple waiters so I would hate to see if when it was full! One person in our party could only stay for 20 min and was planning to get just a drink. After about 10 minutes of waiting, she had to cancel it. It should not take more than 10 minutes to make someone a drink. I had to take the check up to the counter to pay, after waiting for almost 10 minutes for someone to come collect the check. Due to service alone, I would not return in the future.
The crab cakes were so salty that caused me drinking two glasses of water in 5 minutes. After two bites, I was not able to finish the entree. When the waitress came and asked me how I liked the food, I told her it was very salty. Another waiter came and offered to give me something else in exchange. I really didn’t want anything else; I need to drink a lot of water! I would say, anyone who has hypertension needs to stay away from this restaurant. I know I would not go back. My health is more important. I drank more water afterwards. Good grief.
I chose Basil's for a lunch with my mother. We couldn't find anyone who appeared to work in the restaurant so we approached the hotel front desk. They said to take a seat anywhere and someone would be with us. The first three tables we tired to sit at were dirty, with leftover food spills, crumbs, hairs and trash, even though they were set for lunch service.
After waiting for 10 minutes at a different table, we still hadn't had anyone acknowledge us, let alone ask if we wanted to order, so we left. I will not be back.
Very disappointing, the atmosphere was poor, the restaurant was in the lobby of the hotel and was not well designed. The food was not very good and way overpriced.
Our server said that they did not have the system setup for open table reservations. Which was very strange since I made the reservation on my app for the location. Despite that, the food was rather expensive considering that it is a hotel bar among so many in the area. There ius no happy hour. Another bad point. So we ended up ordering a charcuterie plate. It seemed to be the best value for the money. It was not the largest that I've seen, but for the price it made the most sense. Other than that it was an okay place to meet someone in a pinch.

Arrived and despite reserving through Open Table were told they no longer work with Open Table???
This was also promoted on Open Table with added point to go there.
Hard not to conclude that either they are scamming Open Table,
Open Table using their members and marketing to try to regain the client despite knowing they were no longer honoring the OT reservations. (Or maybe Hilton since restaurant is in their Hotel.
Which is it? Not good to feel used
Omg we had a good time there on sun the 29th of Oct. It was my son Birthday dinner, our server was so amazing His name is Jesus. Very sweet and friendly .
Had been there before and it was a hotel restaurant and bar - average food but good service. This time the service was poor, food service was slow and they got the food order wrong. Not a good experience.
We came for Mother's Day Brunch. For some reason, they didn't open until 11a so there was a large crowd waiting in the lobby. Once open, there was only one hostess and she had to check in and walk groups to their tables. This was not a quick operation.
There was a large variety of food to choose from, but nothing was worth the price. Even the made-to-order omelet bar used eggs that came out of a box.
Not worth the price for the quality.
The brunch was mediocre at best, and it was very expensive!! The service was also mediocre. We had to ask for water to be filled, to have our plates cleared, and for food to be served. Will not likely be back there!
The food was alright
A nice hotel restaurant and bar for a nice hotel. Portions are very small, but taste is excellent.
Good old plain tasty food. Nothing fancy, no pretentions, prompt friendly service. I would recommend it for everyday dining.
We have done Thanksgiving several times before at Basil's and enjoyed it. This year was our first since they redid the eating areas. Now you are basically out in the open in the hotel lobby area so the noise level is much higher.
All food is served buffet style which makes it impossible to keep the food hot. Our food quality was ok (not as good as before when we chose from a menu and it was served HOT) but everything was simply warm or less.
We will no longer do the Basil's buffet. Sorry
In my party were 3 adults and a 5 year old. The staff was great. The chef even visited our table to be sure all was well. We were not rushed ever, and never felt that our table was needed for the next diners. A special tribute to the musician who invited my 5 year old to play piano with him. The atmosphere was perfect for an elegant Thanksgiving dinner. The food options were fabulous and very tasty. Added bonus...valet parking on a rainy day. We all really enjoyed our selves.

The service is personal and gracious. We are a business group and we are treated with honor and respect and excellent meals.
We had a girls' brunch before going wedding-dress shopping, and it was perfect (except for an annoying sticky floor in the buffet area--no doubt from spilled syrup). Hot food at buffet was hot and tasty, service quick at the omelette bar. Table service was attentive. All around A-.

We ate at Basil's for 2016 Easter brunch. It was a buffet. It was so mediocre, I don't even know where to start. The coffee tasted burned. Half of the hot food was cold, while some was at the other extreme and was actually burned. My husband decided he would stick to the cold foods, but when he tried just some simple bagels and lox, the bagels were literally rock hard, they had pre-toasted them.... He asked the server for fresh bagels but she just shrugged and walked away. I will say the prime rib and salmon bake were nice. Our server however was not. She did not ask us the the ages of our children when we were seated and billed them as adults. When we pointed it out that two of the three were under 12, she questioned us and was quite put out. I didn't realize that we needed their passports to prove their age. This was not a pleasant holiday experience;(

My Thanksgiving meal ($38 per) was poor at best. Ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, the smallest Caesar salad you've ever seen, had to ask for rolls, salty turkey, blah, blah, blah. Not a happy face in the crowd. Clearly the staff/cooks were not real keen on working on Thanksgiving. I realize this hotel is not exactly like the ones "downtown" but a little effort to make this a special meal would have been nice.
For an upscale restaurant, the food was average. I had the thanksgiving turkey meal, not very warm and okay at best. My wife had chicken Marsala and said it was about a seven out of ten. My eleven year old daughter had mac and cheese, which was not very good. My seventeen year daughter had the salmon and loved it.
We went for the Thanksgiving meal. For around $30 a plate we had 2 small plates with 4 ravioli and 1 slice of turkey, both meals were cold. I had 1 glass of wine that had cork in it. The desert buffet was out and kids were sticking their fingers in the items. There was no staff there to watch this or to advise of the situation.After all of this they then had the nerve to add a 18% gratuity to the tab. There was no one to complain to so I paid the bill. I have tried calling 4 times and have not been able to get a hold of the manager. I understand that this is in a hotel but there is no reason for this behavior.
Thanksgiving dinner was not what I expected. Service was good, but the food was only average. What had once been a very good buffet was now a fixed menu. The problem wasn't so much with the menu as it was with the to-do food and the "renovation" they just completed that had us sitting in the middle of the lobby (literally). Definitely not an experience that I would want to repeat. Sometimes things change over time for the better - this was a downhill disaster.
I was looking forward to having a tasteful and enjoyable holiday dinner out on Thanksgiving.
We had a good idea of what the choices were on the menu as we had checked it out ahead of time on the web. I had selected the scallops with risotto and mixed veggies. What came to me was 4 overcooked scallops that were like rubber, risotto that was runny and very salty, and a few non descript vegetables drowning on the edges of the runny risotto. I sent this plate back to the kitchen and was offered the Turkey dinner which I accepted. The quality of the sides were very disappointing, to me they had no flavor and were not well presented. I requested hot green tea to go with the main entre and what I was served was a small amount of hot water that could not diffuse the tea bag. Then there was dessert. The buffet had no plates available, and the selection by 2pm was fairly well picked over.
Having been this restaurant before on 2 previous occasions for the Thanksgiving dinner, I found it was very good but nothing exciting.
We had been there before for Thanksgiving some 3 or 4 years ago. They had a much better setup then. This time, it was a clear down-scaling. It is clear they are not getting any traction as a restaurant and there were less than 10% of the business of the Thanksgiving guests they had a few years ago. This time, they had us in the main atrium room and there were only a few guests, probably folks staying at the hotel.
Soup was not that great. Prime Rib was served cold and was disappointing. Bread was not refreshed. Menu was very limited but they were one of the few that had chicken on the menu which some family members only eat. The Chicken Marsala dish was ok. Desert buffet was ok and the main attraction. The kid's Mac and Cheese and Cheesburger were great. Mostly, the place was not inspiring or festive in any way. Just a hotel breakfast place. I wish they had their breakfast buffet which is better than most things on the menu.
We waited 45 minutes for our entrée and the server thought we had already eaten it.
Food was expensive but good. Other servers were very good.
