Basilico Ratings and Reviews
the clientele seem snobby and quite demanding - the food and service was good - just be prepared to be surrounded by demanding customers - maybe it was just the area we were in - great menu with lots of unusual choices you don't see everywhere -
Lovely specials with exotic ingredients like truffles and mushrooms I've never had before. Everything is definitely made with love. Delicate sauces with depth and full of flavor, pastas and gnocchi very light, great mussels, down to the wonderful tiramisu & capuccino. They even provide iced wine buckets. Thought of everything!
I've been to Basilico in the past & it is usually pretty good. However the standard menu doesn't change much & the specials are not that inventive. My dish was ok. Our server was probably new & quite inattentive. Overall I'm in no rush to go back for the amount of money they charge.
Have to say we were a little disappointed. This used to be one of our favorite and hard to get into restaurants because the quality of the food was so high. we last ate there 6 months ago and raved about it. This time not so good. While our meals were ok, everything was a little ho hum and bland.
We celebrated my mom's 88th birthday with lunch at Basilico. The menu had plenty of reasonably priced options and everyone raved about their choices. The soft shell crab with julienne seasonal veggies was delicious as was the shrimp and artichoke ravioli.
We have been to this restaurant twice and would go again. Good service and friendly staff.
I have been to this restaurant multiple times. I have always had an awesome meal. My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary on Monday. He started with the rice balls and I had a salad. The Short Ribs are my absolute favorite.
We recently had my daughter's bridal shower here and it couldn't have been more special. Mario, William, and their entire staff took care of every detail and as always, the food was delicious. We come here at least once/month; one of our favorites in the area plus it's a BYOB. Save room for dessert!!!
Neighbors make this a regular stop. Based on decor and menu choices, plus a modified wine license or BYO, we could see why. Salad was terrific. But both of our seafood mains were overcooked despite our attempts to tell the waiter. We asked for "cooked through and tender." He translated that to "well done." And that became too well done.
We go every year on our anniversary and are never disappointed. The food is great and has gluten free options for me and pescatarian for my husband. The tables are close together so it can get noisey but the food is worth it. The staff and owner are friendly and accommodating.
Fairly disappointed in this milburn restaurant, and must note there are many other better places nearby and in surrounding towns. They have a nice menu, but prices quite high for many items. The food on the plate was relatively bland even if portion size good. Fairly nice surroundings, and helpful staff, but, as I said, not as good as other Italian restaurants in area, while admitting this is tough area to stand out in this dining genre. I am kind of surprised by the ratings of other diners.
Also, if you go, be aware they only serve wine, and from one California producer. It wasn't bad, but you pay restaurant markups for so-so wine. I was under impression they had a full license. Bring your own!
Basilico is one of my favorite local restaurants. When i want a SURE THING good food that's when i go to Basilico. For years now.
Last sunday we went with our 3 year old granddaughter and they couldn't be nicer or accomodating. Great ppl, great food
went for pre theater. Had wonderful service and food--branzino was excellent, as was the halibut special. My sister had the rabbit and it was very flavorful. Very attentive service --not rushed. Restaurant larger than it appears from outside.
