Basho Japanese Brasserie
Basho is a contemporary Izakaya brasserie where dishes are prepared in two separate areas: the principal kitchen and the sushi bar. Rather than offering individual starters and main courses, Basho serves dishes that are designed for sharing and are brought to the table steadily and continuously throughout the meal.
Your server will be happy to assist you in choosing dishes, such as our Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice Appetizer, which is highly popular or our specially crafted 1338 Signature Roll. We are also conveniently located within the heart of Fenway. If you're ever in the area for a Red Sox's game, stop by! We are only a 2 minute walk from Fenway Park!
chef's choice of sushi with a California roll
Tuna, salmon, kani, tobiko, mango, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo
They appear to be recovering from Covid restrictions. Good sushi but everything seem geared to Take out
Made a reservation for 8:30 and the waiter said we had 10 min to order as the kitchen was going to close… rushed us to order
Excellent safety protocols. Friendly service and the outdoor dining was fantastic!
Great food and even better service! Always a favorite go to!
We eat here a lot and it is always great both food wise and service wise.
Beer was hot and flat. But the service and food was good.
Really great service and we loved out meals and drinks. The 1338 roll was worth the hype. Highly recommend Basho.
The volcano roll is a must try
Server was good, but he was the only one so it took a while for us to get our drinks though food was served
The food was good the drinks were great the service was a little slow but they were also packed
There were 5 of us for lunch on Saturday. The staff was friendly and efficient. The windows were open so the ventilation was great but it was a little chilly so bring extra layers. The food was amazing as usual. From the pork belly steamed buns, to the sushi and sashimi and the bento boxes....the food was all excellent. We love Basho!
Very good service and food. Met a friend for lunch. He was late, and server was very pleasant, did not rush me. Delicious sushi.
Another great night at Basho! Amazing food, great space, great food, and service is absolutely phenomenal.
First date night of the pandemic post vaccination and as always, Basho never disappoints. I’ve lived in Brookline for 12 years and since they opened, it’s one of my go to sushi staples. Always amazing food with speedy and attentive service!
Great fun spot with excellent sushi, creative rolls, and other menu items...good drinks too!. Staff were upbeat and very accommodating. Near Fenway so also good spot pre or post Red Sox game. Will be going back.
The food was amazing and the staff was so nice! loved it! thank you
The speciality sushi rolls are TO DIE FOR! My sister and I LOVED the crunchy roll, the 1338 roll and the Phoenix roll. Absolutely delicious!
Great experience overall!
Very attentive service times just right. Food is always mad good. Can’t go wrong with their cocktails, very balanced 👌
Fresh sushi with very good rolls and menu options at a reasonable price.
Great service and food! Will be back.
Food was excellent and service was excellent. Enjoyed Basho very much and will be back.
Basho never disappoints. The food is always fresh and the service is excellent. The outdoor patio has also become a favorite spot for dining during the pandemic.
Very good service and food. Fun drinks too.
Everything was average.
First time at basho was a pleasant experience. The food overall was very good, with a wide selection of sushi rolls and other dishes. I’d recommend the Phoenix and crazy rolls off their sushi menu.
Service was terribly slow. Food was just ok.
The last time I was here was in the summer and still has a great spot and Charm for great sushi to choose from. I highly suggest anyone in the area should come and see what’s there to offer, from other places I rank this a top 5 sushi spot on Open Table!
Place has really changed. Ambiance is certainly nicer, however, the food quality has gone down. For the amount paid, the sushi was just okay.
This is a very solid sushi place. Fish is fresh, sushi rolls creative but still mainstream enough to please most.
My friend got salmon teriyaki and it wasnt great, just good. So stick to sushi there altho hot appetizers are excellent. Hot sake is cheap and very good.
I recommend this place def.
Food was excellent. Didn’t like that we got charged for desert given it was someone’s birthday (most restaurants give the desert for free). Also cocktails were overly priced. Loved the ambiance and food was delicious. Overall I would definitely go again and do recommend it!
Average nothing special solid
Our group lunch, for 14, was very enjoyable. Service was very friendly and efficient and the food excellent.
Nice food, nice place, nice service
Great service and good food
Great food and service. We enjoyed a really nice meal before a Red Sox game. We will be back again.
Nice place with very good service. Sadly we were the only two people in the place so tough to judge the ambiance and the squid on the sushi roll we ordered was over cooked.
Not the best sushi I have had.
Waitress had too many tables but food was fine. Sorry they took eggplant off the menu
Daughter first Red Sox game.
