Bashi at Terranea Resort
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with great food, nice view and beverages that are perfectly prepared to you size and taste.
Bashi has amazing food and the views are wonderful. Service was the best!!!
The poolside location is odd for a fine dining restaurant, and it creates lots of noise. The menu was very limited and nothing at all like the menu on the restaurant's website. Finally, my lemonade was made from an artificial mix when I would have expected fresh juice. All of this would have been fine at half the price, but not at upscale dining prices.
Whole fish with the Asian sauce and cilantro was outstanding, garlic egg noodles with vegetables a must try.
Thanks for the great food!
Always love dining here, best restaurant at Terranea Resort
The appetizers were amazing but the sushi and grill were just mediocre.
Well, location is nice but it is a restaurant and foods should be far better than what they served. Sushi, eatable but I won’t recommend. Rice was so so but too much rice, tuna not so fresh, salmon was ok. My shrimp dish with rice noodles was very sad. They don’t know how to cook noodles. It was over cooked and too mushy.
Marsel, we enjoyed food plus service but not Bashi.
Unfortunately this restaurant wasn't a hit. The food was very mediocre. We ordered what our waiter recommended and some additions. The food was lacking in flavor, sushi included. I wouldn't dine here again. The price doesn't warrant the quality of food. The service was very good though.
Service was wonderful. Everyone thoughtful. Loved the whole sea bass!
What I love about Bashi is the consistently overall good dining experience...and that it is just two miles from my home 😎
I’ve eaten at Bashi dozens of times but the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the tables, etc has diminished. The tables are slatted wood and there is old food stuck in between and visible. My favorite dish, garlic noodles with steak, was sub par. I asked for the steak to be medium well and it was charred like burnt toast. I left it all on the plate. Disappointed with the chef not understanding. Wait staff was great and view always awesome. Food not up to par that night. And the tables need a good cleaning. Not appealing to view old food while dining.
I was really disappointed in a Bashi. We chose it for the first night at our vacation at Terranea. For a fluid pan Asian sharing menu it felt pricey but we were at a resort so we took the bait. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the prices. Or basic quality food. My sisters salad was limp and lackluster. My brothers chicken adobo was basic and lacked sauce (we used to live in the Philippines and eat this dish regularly). But the most disappointing was the chashu and lobster fried rice - an enormous portion of bland, reheated rice with barely a piece of lobster in sight, and plenty of chashu, but reheated and over cooked to within an inch of its life. Perhaps this was a glitch but based on our experience I would not eat at Bashi again or recommend it to others.
Food was not good at all considering the price! Coffee espresso was served without saucer at all. Table should have table cloth for dinner considering the table doesn’t look nice at all! Disappointed with food and service!
Food is awesome. Service is excellent. Getting there and using valet parking keeps getting more challenging
Great service and very friendly hostess, Sophia was her name
The food is great. It would be a shame to be in RPV and not take a moment to enjoy Bashi! Great view, good food and drinks and great service. It's one of my favorite restaurants EVER! I miss the BBQ ribs they took off the menu, but there are plenty other things to enjoy. Don't like the charge for cutting the sushi rolls, but I'll tolerate it.
The server was not focused at all seemed distracted the whole time. We had to ask for items that we already requested a couple of times from another server. The food is always good. The valley parking was more than 15 mins there was no system finding where they parked our vehicle. Not worth for charges.
The whole baked fish was cooked perfectly, I would eat that again. The glass noodles were mushy which makes me think they were not cooked to order. The sauce lacked heat and spice. It was so bland despite all the seafood in it and the soft boiled egg was ice cold in the middle. Overall disappointing.
This was our second time there and we love the food, the setting and the staff.
Easter we are spending time with our dear family and this is not our 1st time at Bashi. I put us to whatever available seat on the side where customers walk back and fort. It doesn’t look like we have a reservation.
Our 26 Wedding Anniversary
I know that resort dining is always expensive but this restaurant was ridiculous for the value. We paid over 100.00 for one appetizer, one entree and 2 drinks. I ordered the Lobster and Pork rice dish. When I told the server, she stirred my dish around and showed me the lobster "pieces" which were not much bigger than the grains of rice. The pork consisted of 5 slicers each about the size of a quarter. The rest was mediocre rice. The cost of this entree was 30.00. The server tried to make it right but bringing me some more lobster. It was shredded and looked like it came from a can. We sat on the patio which faced the pool and lots of screaming kids. The inside of the restaurant was a very loud bar atmosphere. I would not eat here or recommend this restaurant.
Food is inconsistent!!!! It all depends on WHO is in the kitchen!!!! Where is management???
The fish on the sushi was too fishy, we didnt like anything and sent a lot of the food back. not worth the price
The sushi was great, loved the matcha green tea, surf and turf was delicious as well. Service was a little off (brought us the wrong dish twice) but overall a very relaxing and yummy dinner.
The food is phenomenal and Bashi never lets us down. The outdoor seating overlooking the pool and ocean is hard to top, and the food is always hot, fresh and consistent. The service is excellent as well so do yourself a favor and hit up Bashi during your next stay at Terranea.
The food and ambiance were excellent. We had a range of items from the shared menu, entrees, sushi and dessert. Everything was delicious!
Everything from the service to the incredible food was amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try the “Chinese “ part of the menu! We had amazing sushi and also the Friday night skewers special. Just so impressed with the entire menu! The cocktails were incredible. We had their version of a spicy margarita. I forgot the name! I also had a glass of savignon blanc. Perfect night with my date!
Food was great and service was wonderful. Only disappointment was they had no draft beers and the hot sake machine was out.
Great food as usual! I recommend the shishito peppers and the brussel sprouts (amazing!). Unfortunately the service did not match the food. The waiter was distracted and I had to grab other waiters in order to get someone to come to our table.
Good food, fast service and not outrageously expensive for resort dining.
Beautiful restaurant, exceptional service. Food underwhelming but on balance, I’d definitely come back! Spectacular views!
I’ve been there many times and it was always excellent but this last time was even better! They changed some of the recipes which normally I wouldn’t like but but somehow they inproved It! And I consider myself a gourmet.
Nice view, seated right away with a short reservation time-Great. Food came out quickly. No rush. Good service. Bread was comped. Would definitely recommend
Food, overpriced for what it is.
Example. Wok fried octopus only had 4 time pieces?!!!
Server spoke too fast for us to understand what she was saying.
Bill was over $200 for 2 people. We had 1 drink each.. n we were still not full afterwards. I would not recommend to friends.
Had been here several times in the past, usually good, but last Saturday every dish was poorly prepared (it seemed like they had all been prepared well head of time). Sat outside hoping to have a quiet experience, but the constant movement of space heaters and the load squeaking noises that came with it ruined that part of the visit. Don't expect to return, and have already shared with a couple of friends the negative experience
We were seated on time then did not see a server for 15 minutes! We left after that. 2nd time we have had a service issue there. There won’t be a 3rd!
Great dinner. We had several items from the menu and all were “lick the plate” good. Papaya salad, cucumber dressing edamame, chicken dumplings, sizzling steak, garlic noodles and crab fried rice. I’m getting hungry just writing this. Our waiter recommended the Whiskey bread pudding for dessert and I can say don’t miss it! Only drawbacks were it’s resort loud and we sat next to the doors to the outside so we kept getting blasted by cold air. It was a cold night and no one wanted to sit outside including us but we survived.
Very nice ambiance at the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes. The menu offered a lot of choices, but all the food was very salty and overpriced.
