Being here during the initial 'Rona virus weekend, the resort in general was pretty empty, but the service remained absolutely impeccable. Sushi was excellent and cocktails were boozy but not too boozy just the way I like them. My only small food complaint was with the braised beef udon noodles. Really excellent sauce, but too much of it. The rather salty sauce worked very well with everything else in the bowl, but by the time I was done with a third of the it, the noodles and beef were swimming in the sauce.
Sizzling beef and garlic noodles were excellent. We had Blake as a server and he pointed us in the right direction as to what to order. That helped a lot!
Portions were large & plentiful.
Stay away from the dumplings they were overly dense & lacked flavor. The experience was average overall. I prefer other venues at the resort unless you are really craving Asian style.
The location is beautiful. But the food... my wife and I really aren’t picky when it comes to food but we just aren’t sure what happened. Our choice, the valentines special, sea bass and lobster risotto. Sounds wonderful but it was a big flavorless chunk of fish wrapped in a thin bread on undercooked risotto. All of which truly had no flavor. I almost asked for ketchup! Neither of us finished our meal and felt a little sick the rest of the night. We noticed afterwards that very few People were ordering food. Mostly drinks. And it was our 12 year anniversary dinner. I’d come back for the view but probably not the food.
We had to ask for soy saucer for our sushi dishes . We had to ask for refills on waterZ no eye contact from managers and waiters avoiding you. We had to wait awhile before anyone came up to us for service or take our menu. No explanation on menu or welcoming. Too busy and service was definitely lacking
We live locally. We come to Bashi about twice a year, and feel the food has become average, at best.
We ordered the pot stickers, did not seem homemade and kind of firm? We also ordered the shrimp tempura roll, embarrassing... could not taste the shrimp and loaded with white rice (filler).
Also.... ate outside and the sound of that door closing was very annoying! Sorry.
Julio was a great server!
BASHI IS NEVER A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! THE MENU IS OUTSTANDING!! THE ENTIRE STAFF IS ALWAYS SO WELCOMING, PLEASANT AND COURTEOUS!!! WE LOOK FORWARD TO OUR VISIT AT BASHI!!! THE MANAGER, BRIAN, IS ATTENTIVE, PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL!!! THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE STAFF INCLUDING LEAH, TESS, EZRA, JULIO AND CAT!!!
Bashi is an Asian fusion restaurant at the Terrenea Resort. It is not a stuffy resort restaurant, and it explores well beyond the typical hotel fare. It is a fairly casual atmosphere - you won't find white table cloths and there is an outside patio as well. The menu is interesting - both food and drink. We had a sake tasting flight with three generous servings of different sakes. From there we selected a carafe of sake. Everything on the menu can be shared and is encouraged. Sushi and sashimi were super fresh although you won't find a long list of every possible fish, what they do have is top quality and fresh. Try the taco trio - really a handroll presented as if the seaweed were a taco shell. It was a little messy, but fun and again, more generous portions than the average sushi restaurant. We also had the Udon noodles and beef. Very satisfying and because we shared, we weren't too stuffed. I liked Bashi and we both agreed we would go again when looking for something different than our regular sushi or Chinese stops.
We were initially sat next to a server stand with people constantly standing over my shoulder. We asked to be sat outside and were once a table was available. Our server was wonderful, the hosts were very friendly and the manager came over and apologized for the seat inside and comped our appetizer (which wasn’t necessary but was appreciated). The outside area was perfect. Very little noise and the ambience was incredible. The only complaint about the food was that it was a bit salty. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
Do not trust this restaurant for your special occasion. The service is horrible. If you have a large party you’re going to be ignored because they served has their guaranteed tip. No refills, no clean plates, no checking in. No dessert menu even after we asked. She took my wine glass with wine still in it.
And we watched her pet a dog in the hallway and resume work about washing her hands. So horrid.
The food is good. Sadly they have work to do.
Our server was courteous, informative, and attentive. Food was excellent. Enjoyed by all.
Server (Lina) was very attentive. Food was great just a bit expensive but I guess you pay for the ambience...
You can never go wrong with the Shaken Sizzling Beef but the Miso Lobster disappointed. The meat of the lobster was absolutely glued to the shell making it a wrestling match.
Absolutely impeccable.
What an superb experience! From greeting to table selection and every moment of service the people made it wonderful. The FOOD and drinks were perfect, delicious, seasoned to perfection and the absolutely perfect temperature. The view! Oh and the heaters for a cool night made this a memory well never forget. I think this is one of the too places to come in Southern California.
The food was great and the waitress made great recommendations on what to try.
Always wonderful food & excellent service. We love the resort as a whole.
Excellent service. Very good menu. Not much of a dessert menu.
Absolutely Excellent! Wonderful dinner!
Birthday dinner for mom. Food and service were both fantastic
Great service and tasty food
The food was great and the service was incredible- actually the best service we have had at Terranea. A fun birthday dinner for my daughter.
It could be great. But it’s not.
Outstanding restaurant within the confines of Terranea resort. Asian fare, well prepared and very tasty. Portions generous and easily shared. Garlic noodles quiet good especially when accompanied by a few "small plate" items such as chicken wraps and dumplings. Paired well with white wines.
Great food but pricey as expected from a Terranea restaurant. Food was good but my sushi roll didn't come until the rest of my party was already done eating which was pretty annoying! All in all, good restaurant at a great resort.
Great experience!
The food is very flavorful. Every dish was outstanding. A bit expensive but high quality.
If you haven't tried Bashi lately I suggest you do. The menu has been taken to another delicious level even old favorites like the shaken beef and Shangai noodle have been upgraded big time. chef Ibarra has the done a tremendous job through out the whole Terranea property. Great job!
Ambiance is nice. Food was ok. Our food was cold so had to be reheated. And the food came out at different times. Drinks came after our food which is a bit odd.
Great food, lovely view sitting outside! Service excellent.
It took a long time for us to be served and we got things out of order. It’s a shame that this happens at such a nice resort. The food was well presented and nice. We will give it another shot and hope service improves.
Excellent gourmet take on Asian dishes. Delicious gem at Terranea
Excellent place to have a nice and quiet dinner with great ambiance.
Beautiful view and delicious food! Service was quick and accommodating. Love coming to Bashi!
My husband and I had dinner at Bashi celebrating our Anniversary. We were blown away with the ambiance and the food was incredible! I would definitely recommend this place. We had such a great time this is a place, we call our secret get away.
Chicken dumplings are super salty. The lobster fried rice with cha siu, the char siu supposed to be roasted pork, but instead they are chunks of fat.
The servers were very attentive and knowledgeable. We ate dinner and lunch there! The fried Seabass was excellent!
Horrible. Food was mis-timed. Chicken stir fry was too garlicky and salty. Drink that was ordered never came. When I asked about my sushi plate the said they “ gave it to another table”. The person in charge of the restaurant offered to give us a free dessert, but we declined and left the restaurant. Maybe it was just a bad night. But, it is what it is.
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with great food, nice view and beverages that are perfectly prepared to you size and taste.
