Food was very salty
I told everyone we were celebrating a birthday. No acknowledgement for most part. The biggest problem is that we ordered a lot of food and told our waiter to space it out. Starting with appetizers. Our food was rushed out to the table in no order at all. We were forced to pack up food so we could have enough space on the table. I asked twice to please tell kitchen to hold off. No success. Our appetizers came towards the end of dinner. It was a disappointment. Normally we had celebrated special occasions at the Catalina kitchen. But Bashi has to learn a few things. Service should be important and the kitchen should work with the the front of the house. Food was good but my mood was ruined by the order and untimeliness of having so much food rushed out at once and making it my problem. We did not enjoy dinner and will not be back. It’s too bad. Terranea should be enjoyed by the local community. Sad. We were told later after the food was serviced to only order one item at a time. Ridiculous. Very unprofessional staff and kitchen
Everything was soo tasty!!!
FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT I LIKE THE AMBIANCE ALSO.
We came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was awesome! We ate family style and sat outside. It was so beautiful and the service was great.
Food and service were not as good this time as previous times
Always a great meal and delicious cocktails, but a bit pricey.
This was our 4th visit to Bashi and it was perfect once again. It happened to be a quiet evening which was perfect for my birthday dinner. I am local to the area, but whenever we visit Terranea, it always feels like we're on holiday, even if just for 2 hours. The dragon sushi roll was excellent, as was the sashimi. We had a salt and pepper shrimp dish along with a noodle side (I can't recall the name of the dish) and it was all excellent. It was slightly cooler for this time of year, but there are plenty of heaters to take the chill off the patio, which is where we prefer to sit. Already looking forward to our next visit!
SUSHI BAR had a terrible odor!!!! Something must have spoiled!!!! FRESH FISH SHOULD NOT SMELL AS IT DID!!! AVOIDED THE SUSHI AS A RESULT!!!! NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY!!!
The food was, I must admit, quite surprisingly good, considering the plethora of terrible reviews on Yelp -- although they may have aided me in knowing what to avoid ordering, as the items I chose were rarely if ever mentioned by any Yelpers. The service was INCREDIBLE: attentive, gentle, kind, thoughtful. I don't remember our waiter's name but it was a young man with dark-rimmed glasses. He was super sweet. The atmosphere was stunning, of course, and the main reason we went in spite of the terrible food reviews. Specifically, the shishito peppers were STUPENDOUS. I would order those over and over again if I could. The bacon and crab fried rice did have bits of hard, dried-up rice, but the flavor was smoky and good, and the three juicy, fat crab claws, one for each person at the table, was a pleasant and satisfying surprise. The okra eggplant curry stew was adequate: flavor was a bit bland but the bowl was filled with delicious vegetables.
All the food is pretty good. Except the fried rice, it was very bland.
Nice Ambience, good quality food, but the price in return for what you get is way too expensive.
Portion size is often erratic!!! Sushi was not the freshest this time and quite disappointing!!! Not sure what the problem may be. Service is always very good, however, their food is suffering!! Food needs some attention!!!!
Great food; greater service and at a very decent price
It was a lovely night with beautiful views and delicious food
we let them know there was a birthday and nothing was done for it...their "whole" fish is mostly bone and overfried. drinks are good, so are the Brussel sprouts
Fun dinner with a group of friends. Enjoyed the gorgeous view, the cool beer list, the lettuce wraps, and the magician’s performance.
Excellent service from the host staff to our server. Octopus and sizzling beef were highlights, as were oysters. Papaya salad was flavorful but perhaps had been sitting a bit long-- a bit limp for lack of better term. Fried rice was just ok.
Bashi at Terranea is great mainly because of its location overlooking the pool at Terranea and the ocean. Very beautiful, especially on the patio on a balmy night. Upscale restaurant and resort. We had the chicken dumplings; rainbow sushi; brussels sprout salad; shanghai garlic noodles; and Kung Pao chicken. All were very good with the exception of the brussels sprout salad and the Kung Pao chicken, both of which were highly recommended by our waiter. We can't figure out why as they were really poor choices. Another table had the Sizzling Shaky Beef which looked and smelled delicious. By the way, the cocktails at all the restaurants in the resort don't seem to have much alcohol in them and every time I order one, I wished I'd ordered a plain glass of wine instead.
Go and enjoy the good food and the beautiful setting. You will not regret it!
Took my wife here on a date for our anniversary. Totally worth the drive and bra in the weekday evening traffic.
Food is always exceptional.
Problem the other night was, poor service, we had to ask twice for silverware, our dinners did not come together. I rcvd the wrong sushi order, then waited forever for the correct order. Only had one drink , she never came back for another round.
No lighting. We could not see what we were eating, folks put some lighting outside or at least bright candles.
The outdoor seating has beautiful views. I was disappointed that they were out of the bottle of sake I requested and the suggested replacement was almost double in cost. The timing was off since my entree came out much earlier than my sushi appetizer. The entree was very salty, but the sushi was very good.
The food was just ok. Not many options on the menu and our whole family felt a little sick after eating there.
Fantastic food with an amazing view! The staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Wasn’t expecting much given that this is a restaurant at the resort. We were seated on the patio with a great evening view of the coast line. I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of food both in taste and presentation was actually quite good. We had the Hamachi Poke bowl served in a generous portion with the right level of spice. Followed this up with an assortment of Maki sushi ending with the Garlic Noodles and Spicy Beans. Would recommend this restaurant and will be returning during our stay at Terranea.
Fantastic experience! We’re coming back for dinner our last night here.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view, the food, drinks - and especially the magician who entertained us and several others with several unusual and thoroughly baffling tricks.
We went for our anniversary for the sizzling beef, which is our favorite. It is an expensive dish, but always well worth it. We ordered 2 of them. This time though, the onions weren't cooked enough and there was much less beef and potatoes on both of our plates then other visits. Hoping it was just an oversight this time as it was a bit disappointing. However, service and ambience was great. Also got to see our favorite waitress, Lina, again. She wasn't our server, but loved getting to visit and highly recommend her.
Excellent view of coast; exotic asian fare with large variety of choices including vegan, meat and seafood. Generous portions of all entrees which makes sharing easy and recommended. Garlic noodles particularly special. Service was prompt, respectful and courteous. Waiter well acquainted with menu and his recommendations were spot on. I highly recommend it and will return. Open table reservation was key, as the resort is crowded and waits can be long.
Would have given the food 5 stars, but the dessert was very underwhelming. The shaking beef and garlic noodles were all we heard they would. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the outdoor patio was very relaxing.
If you are in the area, completely worth the stop.
Our server was great. She did everything to accommodate us. The food was delicious.
Garlic noodles were the favorite, yakitori skewers tasty but tiny
Bashi is a fine option if you want to stay within Terranea, but the reality is their "Shanghai Noodles" are lo mein noodles, like the ones you'd get at any American-Chinese restaurant. The bonus is that their portions are very generous, so you don't need to order a lot to end up with enough for a meal, with more for the next day.
I was given a requested great table. Service prompt and pleasant, I believe Janice was her name. Food was delicious. My 3rd time dining here, this was the best.
Sizzling shaking beef, garlic noodles, fried rice, and poke bowl were phenomenal. Lettuce wraps and dumplings great for appetizers, too. Fabulous view while dining and great service. My wife’s new favorite restaurant.
We met my daughter and son-in-law for dinner at bashi and were very happy with the good food and moderate level of noise allowing for conversation. Our server was pleasant and attentive and other servers helped to get dishes that we shared on the table. There's a lovely outdoor area and while a little noisy overlooking a busy swimming pool, the view of the ocean is lovely. We chose to eat indoors for the quiet and shelter from the breeze. This time we chose specials from the menu and next time, we'd like to try the sushi. Great place to share and taste different choices from the menu.
We have been to bashi many times and were very disappointed with our meal there tonight. We enjoyed the green papaya salad. It had four big delicious shrimp. We shared the Kung Pao chicken and spicy garlic green beans for our main. Neither meal had much flavor and were not spicy at all. Unfortunately the oil on both overtook the dishes. We chose bashi because we have so enjoyed meals there over the last few years. We had requested an outdoor table with our reservation and were disppointed that one was not available when we arrived. Our night out to celebrate our anniversary did not turn out to be special at all :-( Service was slow and my cocktail had to be remade as the first one wasn't strained of the small ice pieces.
Our waitress was so nice! The food is so good also!
The Garlic noodle bowls is outstanding! One of my favorite dishes here. And the chicken potstickers too. Love these, so tasty. Cocktails are tasty but really overpriced. I liked my blackberry smash, hubby had a beer. But with service, if you don't order beverages right at the beginning, the servers can't remember to go find your beverage in the midst of serving plates. my server chose to return dishes, clear tables, mess with the hostess before he checked for my beverage at the bar (ready in my view) for over 15 minutes before he went and brought it to my table.
