When the original Bascom came to Florida at the turn of the last century to help Henry Flagler build the Key West Railroad, he brought with him his love for thick cut chops and juicy steaks. During his travels he also discovered the bounties of fresh native Florida seafood.

We have brought all of his favorites together in a true American Chop House that pays tribute to Bascom's hearty appetite and a passion for great steaks, chops and fresh seafood.

In his honor, we have made Bascom's Chop House a comfortable, yet elegant, American restaurant. We are proud to offer a superbly crafted wine list and American Mid-Western beef, aged to our own exacting specifications to ensure the most tender and flavorful steaks served anywhere at any price. And, true to our Bascom's Chop House name, we also offer hand-cut veal, pork and lamb chops all prepared to perfection, as well as a great selection of native seafood delivered fresh daily.

Very nice overall. Seated on time, although need to reserve a booth since they are limited. Very extensive menu. Items were good. My wife’s prime rib was very good. My filet was good, just not the best I’ve ever had. Items were reasonably priced for this type of venue. With drinks, appetizers, main course and desserts, we were under $75 per person. The wait staff was suitably attentive as well. This was our first time and we will definitely return.

We made our reservations and when we arrived we were seated immediately. We were greeted by our waiter, Marco, very quickly. He introduced himself and began to attend to our wishes. He was absolutely delightful, wonderful sense of humor, so pleasant and very efficient. Our meal was delicious and just as we ordered it. We have been to Bascom's many times and always had a good meal and a nice experience. Saturday's experience was outstanding!!!! Great choice to celebrate my husband's birthday!

We visited for our 5th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect. We were promptly seated when we arrived at the table we requested. George, our server, was absolutely wonderful! We went with his suggestions on the entire meal including the wine selection! He was spot on. My wife and I enjoyed a very romantic dinner. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Wine was superb and the key lime pie was amazing! We had just gotten back from the keys and had not had key lime pie as good as we had Bascom's. Highly recommend you spending your next special occasion there!

Bone in fillet was out of this world!!

I have always been over the top pleased however my reservation was at 6:45 and I happened to arrive early and let the desk know I was there realizing I wouldn’t be seated until closer to 6:45. Several other people were seated ahead of me and now it was 7. I asked about our table and it seemed to pop out of nowhere. It was another 15 minutes before we had our service started. Waitress said she’d get to us. We waited. This is not good service and owner should be made aware of us feeling like an oversight

First time at Bascom's won't be the last. Our waiter Jonathon was wonderful, very helpful, and friendly as well. The food was very good, and they make a wonderful martini. If you looking to go for a special evening, this is the place for you.

This was our first time here even though we’ve driven past it about a hundred times. We will be regular customers from now on. Besides very good service and very good food it was extremely nice to sit in a restaurant and have a normal conversation without having to yell to be heard. For its size and the amount of people dining the noise level was very nice.

Our waitress was terrific, bringing out displays of the various steaks, and later the desserts. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection and the sides were notable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Even the mixed drinks were wonderful (so many restaurants have watered down versions). I would definitely go again.

I rated the service as fair because I waited over 20 minutes from the time I sat down at the table for a waiter to come to my table. Once the waiter appeared I told him I had been waiting 20 minutes and he apologized and the service was good after that. I had the crabcakes which were very good.

While planning a trip through Florida I wanted a great meal. I found Bascom’s Chop House in the area of my hotel and made a reservation. Best decision I made during my entire trip! Excellent food from start to finish and great wine list. My steak was phenomenal and I Would highly recommend this place!

We were greeted and promptly seated upon our arrival. The restaurant was very crowded and had a lively vibe. Our server was very attentive throughout the meal and answered all of our questions. The food was very good and plentiful. We are looking forward to going back.

Mouthwatering Kobe wagyu steak. Best steak we’ve ever had! Great server (Kim). Even my picky eater (13 yr old son) liked the pork chop he ordered.

We've been going to Bascom's for many years. The service is always top notch. The last two times we were there I ordered fish dishes. The black grouper was not pleasant. I did call the manger and he comped a gift certificate. The 2nd was sea bass w risotto. I'm not going to complain to management but, the food was not pleasant. No taste to sea bass & the risotto was soupy. I guess I won't be going back. Sad.

I drive by this place almost everyday heading to work and had a curiosity because I always saw the parking lot full. A co-worker recommended I check it out...specifically the Fried Lobster...attempted to make it on Easter Sunday, but due to poor planning on my part, got caught in the worst traffic leaving Clearwater Beach, so I made reservations for the following day. The waitress was attentive, and explained the menu options for me and my date, the manager, made his rounds and was genuine in asking how the evening was going. It was above and beyond my expectations and is now my go to spot when entertaining friends and family from out of town. Well worth it...

We had a wonderful family Birthday dinner. There were 4 of us and the food and wine was outstanding. We had desert come with a Birthday candle. It was a fabulous evening.

Looked good on your site and selected it for only dinner in town . Dinner was good but rushed by the waiter who said the kitchen was closing although people coming in later were served. Unfortunately both of us had upset stomachs overnight and since we both ate the same thing there was only one conclusion. Sadly once that occurs you don’t go back again .

Been eating at Bascoms for many years, It is better than ever- The steaks and chops are great here especially love the Prime Rib, and the aged bone in ribeye. Great drinks , apps and sides too! Love it here.

The food was awesome. I ordered the 12 oz filet medium. It was a little over cooked but still tender. My husband ordered the wagyu ribeye and it was outstanding. The best steak I’ve tasted. I’m ordering that on the next visit. Our server Kim was very attentive not to us only but her other tables around us.

My friend and I shared a filet mignon. We were charged an extra 7.50 for sharing which gave each of us a small salad. When our dinner came, it was on one plate with an extra plate. We had to divide the potato and filet between us. This should have been done in the kitchen since we paid extra to share. The last time we dined there, they split the dinners in the kitchen. The food was excellent but cocktails and wine were expensive—$13 for a Cosmo and $9 was the cheapest price for a very small pour of red wine.

We love the filets and the shrimp scampi. Took our Neighbor’s for the first time Friday night. Everything was delicious the only issue I have is they ALWAYS seat my party in the far left small room which gets very loud. I’ve been there at least a dozen times with different guests

We sat at the Bar for Dinner. The nicest Barmaid/Bartender/Bar person. Explained everything, very attentive and knowledgeable about the Food and Restaurant.

Bascom’s is our go to restaurant when we are attending a concert at Ruth Eckerd. The food is always good, and the service excellent. Tried the sautéed spinach this time, it was way over salted, but my steak was cooked perfectly. Our waiter, Ralph was great. Very knowledgeable about the wines, and turned me on to an awesome new Pinot noir.
