We are SO sad Basa is closed.....thanks for 10 years of yumminess!
wonderfully prepared meal --- love the food (anything I've ordered has been fab)....great waitstaff.
Will miss my fav spot!!!
Very good food lots of flavor not to expensive with nice environment good service
Everything was wonderfully prepared, plated, and delicious. Excellent service, and portions. I hate it when you either get a tiny little taste of something that leaves you wanting more, or a huge plate that you can't finish. Basa served the just the right amount. Not too much, but not too little. I had the special for the evening, a 7oz salmon filet with potato puree, and succulent mushrooms. My wife enjoyed the Salt and Pepper Prawns, which absolutely divine, and served with a side of rice.
Great meal, service and overall value. We are repeat diners, consistently good. Everything was right on point. I had the salt and pepper prawns, and a fellow diner had the scallops (a special) which were amazing. We also enjoyed the tofu with vegetables and the deep fried oysters as an appetizer.
We love Basa and go there frequently. Their mussels are unsurpassed. Its hard to decide what to choose each time
Outstanding meal! My wife and I split the special salad. She had a shrimp entree and I had scallops. We split chocolate cake for dessert. A Pinot Noir went well with it. The food was delicious! The service was outstanding! The only downside is that it is very noisy.
The entrée, chicken with vermicelli was average. The desserts were excellent. It was a pleasant evening but not outstanding. The server was excellent.
This is our favourite restaurant in Louisville. Best dish on the menu: Shaking Beef. The specials never disappoint and will keep you coming back. Great ambiance and service.
Great food, great service. It'd one of our regulars
As always, the food was excellent! My only complaint, it's too loud to talk to dinner companions.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing. Very enjoyable would recommend!
One of our most favorite places in louisville and the owners are at the top of the heap!! We love it at Basa!
Excellent food. Very attentive servers.
It was absolutely fantastic - everything was so delicious! We cant wait to go back!
Nothing boring about the menu and nothing less than spectacular about the food. Try this olace if you want to experience exciting Asian/Vietnamese fusion with finesse. Michael and Steven Ton are exceptional at what they do.
Basa is a reliable favorite. The mussels are always outstanding. Entrees are generous, freshly prepared and delicious. Everything from the specials to the regular menu is wonderful. Have never had a disappointing experience here.
Great experience as always.
Basa is one of our all around favorite restaurants. Just for us and for out of town guests. We are never disappointed. But our last visit was a stand out. This was our first time to make it to Basa when Pho was on the menu. Best. Pho.Ever. The broth is flavorful, the side condiments are perfect additions to the broth and the meat was amazingly delicious and tender. I was not all that excited to hear of all of the meat that was in the Pho when it was described by our server. But I was wrong! The brisket and tenderloin were exceptional but the meatballs were fabulous. Thank you, Basa!!!
I went here with a group of friends. We have been there together before and we enjoy it very much. The dinner and wines are excellent and the service was as well. I had my usual dish--grilled chicken with vermicelli and crisp fresh vegetables and a wonderful tomato clam bisque. I recommend both highly. In our group of ten everyone was happy with their selections, and all but one ordered dessert and raved about it--gelato and sorbet. This restaurant is in a lovely part of town, in a neighborhood that is great for an evening stroll. As the evening wore on it became clear that this restaurant is not only a great place to dine but an excellent place to gather after dinner as well.
Awesome food! My family and I couldn't stop talking about how great everything was! 10 stars
The idea of upscale Vietnamese intrigued me so while visiting from Chattanooga, my mother (88) and I dined there on a Friday night. Great choice! The mussels were divine, her tuna entrée excellent and my catfish hot pot was perfect. The cocktails weren't too shabby either. Andrew did a super job serving us.
One thing to take into consideration if you have older people in your party, the restaurant begins filling up around 7. Even though she didn't complain to me because she was enjoying the meal so much, it got a little noisy. For me, it had an alive vibe. We can't wait until our visit to Louisville next year so we can return to Basa.
Very pricey- food was good but not a good value considering the other choices available in Louisville. Service was one of the best I have experienced anywhere.
The food was good. The flavor was spot on and sizes were good. It was good for the price point. The server however was horrible. The tip should have gone to other servers because they did more for us then she did.
Server was very inattentive. My water was empty most of meal. I had to flag him to get my drink ordered at the beginning. Excellent food and atmosphere!! Definitely going back but hope for a better waiter.
The service was outstanding!! The salt & pepper shrimp was incredible and the ambience was fun and inviting.
Excellent food, service, and drinks.
The manager did find a setting, away from the very loud area. The wait staff was very accommodating and worked at making our dinner pleasureable.
We had yet another great meal at Basa, this time with friends. The wait staff was helpful and fun, and the food was awesome as usual! We will be back again soon!
We LOVE Basa. Everything is always right on point. My favorite is the salt and pepper prawns. Ambience, service and food are great. We've been there many times and it is consistently good.
Still excellent food.Best mussels anywhere .Attentive servers
Basa was very enjoyable. The food was tasty, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Met an old friend at Basa whom I had not seen for several years. We had a leisurely meal and spent lots of time talking and laughing together. The servers were very good. The arrived, just as we needed them but, otherwise, left us alone for our two hour dining experience.
My friend and I took this opportunity to catch up at Basa since she has moved out of town. Our waitress (Audrey) insisted that we take our time in ordering, and that she did not want to rush us nor break in on our conversations - which was much appreciated. We both ended up ordering the special appetizer soup - a Thai version of a seafood soup with lemongrass. Delicious!! My friend ordered the salmon special, and I ordered the spicy prawns on the regular menu, and we split them. Both were excellent.
Basa is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville. We went there Saturday night for our 14 year old's birthday, at her request, and we all had memorable meals. The Salt & Pepper Prawns are a must if you like seafood. The Mrs. Robinson cocktail is fantastic, too.
The service was great....available but not rushed. Our server heard us talking about our daughter's birthday and brought her a dessert with a candle in it. Very nice touch!
We'll be back soon.
Food was superb as always
Very pleased with our visit! We will definitely be going back. We each had the Filet Mignon and both were cooked perfectly to order. Appetizers were perfect as well.
Excellent meal!
Love Basa! Can't recommend more highly. Reminiscent of restaurants in Bay Area. Can't wait to go for M-T tasting menu as a mid week treat!
Food menu is very limited, and not very vegetarian friendly (only 2 options). Too sweet for my taste.
everything was delicious. excellent service! bombay heat is one of my favorite cocktails!
YUM!
