My companion had never been here and loved the food our servers Sarah and Greg. We were luck to get a window table and had the most wonderful time. The steak tartare is out of this world. I had the veil loin and my friend had the veal liver the special of the day. I know we will come back.
Great food and service but the dining room is always too noisy - apparently the acoustics are bad and when it fills up you have to talk loudly to converse with others at your table - as a result the whole room gets excessively noisy. Too bad they can't put better sound insulation in the ceiling or walls to absorb the noise.
There were several large parties present and they were essentially screaming and laughing - once they left, the atmosphere quieted down.
This was not our best Lake Park Bistro experience, and we have been to this restaurant on may occasions. For the 'level' of this restaurant - a higher level experience is expected and has been our experience in the past. The servers were not very attentive - for instance we ordered multiple bottles of wine, but found out wine glasses empty. We were never offered bread, even tho we had salads and soup - not that it should matter. The server placed the wrong food in front of people. Neither of the servers came over after the entrees were served to ask if everything was as expected. Even the entrees were less than spectacular. In the past, i would rate this restaurant as my favorite in Milwaukee and always want to spend special occasions here because of the high quality food and attentive service. Needless to say, we were disappointed this time.
Wonderful service in a beautiful location - a wonderfully delicious meal!
As always, it was a treat to have a meal at Lake Park Bistro!
Delicious food for Father’s Day brunch and attentive service by Jessica. The brunch menu was perfect for us, including a glass of sparkling wine and a flourless chocolate gateau WITH ice cream. And we relive the memories of our daughter’s wedding there in 2012
Excellent service. Great choices on the brunch menu. The only negative was the air flow- one of my kids had to step outside a couple of times- it was a bit stuffy on a hot day. Even so- we will be back!
Wonderful meal and location, but not a place for intimate conversation.
Had a very nice evening but truly I prefer the restaurant for brunch over dinner.
This was not our usual excellent experience.Had a Party of five to celebrate Father's Day Saturday evening. The servers were friendly but brought one person's drink after everyone else's and missed giving one person bread altogether. Did not check with us with the same timely attention usually given. Three of us ordered the Saturday steak special...my son saw it sitting, ready to be served for several minutes. All three were tough and a little overdone. My husband was disappointed with the sea bass special...not much taste to it. Desserts were wonderful though I could barely cut through the crust of my lemon tart. The leek soup was delicious. Staff was all very nice, just not very attentive. There was another large party of people who were very loud and constantly getting up from their table and brushing by us. The atmosphere was loud in general, very difficult to hear each other speak at our table. As I said, this was not our usual wonderful experience and I hope it was an anomaly...hard to spend that much money for an experience we could have had at a fast food restaurant.
We were seated by the window overlooking the park and Lake Michigan which was great. The staff and the food were amazing. One of my favorite restaurants.
Visited Milwaukee for a conference. Selected this restaurant on a recommendation. It was amazing! Fabulous food, excellent service, gorgeous view!! Highlight of my trip!!! Highly highly recommend!!!
Our special lunch was marred by lukewarm manager and final dish not up to their normal greatness.
Can't beat the Escargot and then onion soup but the Strauss veal dish lost its mojo.
Tepid plates contributed to lukewarm potato/spinach and the veal was tough and not fresh from the pan.
Warmth and hospitality was missing and we hope ours was an untypical moment.
We'll be back and watch for improvement.
We always try to make time to go here when we are in town. Love the food, the service, and the view!
The service and info was excellent. The Onion soup superb as usual
They were accommodating to our little girl. The food and service we good as always.
gps search and getting there not easy. Suggest your add have simple route plan. Thanks CRHartMD
The food here is delicious! The menu has a variety of options that something should please everyone. Very romantic restaurant. if you can, request a table by a window. We will be back!
We love the ambiance, food and service - always very pleasant for a special night out.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and our servers made the experience so special! They brought us a card and champagne; we could certainly celebrate our special day here again!
Lake Park Bistro has been a favorite of ours for a few years and for this occasion our meal was once again excellent. We had a larger group (8), but had no challenges with service or seating. Even had a view of the Lake! As a special nod, Lake Park offered us several complimentary desserts with those we ordered. No doubt that we'll be back!
This is still one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is excellent. Perfect to celebrate my daughter’s 30th!
Such a lovely brunch at one of our favorite places.
There are so many tables packed so closely together, that you are unable to tune out surrounding diner's conversations. The food is good but the ambiance is untenable
Great food as usual. They may need to step up the service game. Still good, just not what it used to be.
Great food and service. As is very typical of French food their dishes are full rich flavors that just melt in your mouth. My whole family enjoyed their meal even my teenage children. Will definitely be back some time soon for a date night.
Everything was superb! Servers extremely knowledgeable. Food was excellent!
It was our first time dinning at the Bistro. We have been there for sunrise church on Easter and have wanted to go back. We meet our daughter who lives in area. Food was very good, rich with a lot of butter. Service was good, but seemed like our order got lost a little with some other large groups around us. The night we were there seemed like a lot of noise. It was hard to talk across the table without seeming to shout. I had the Dove Sole and it was outstanding. My wife had the duck and she was impressed. Want to go back again and try some other items.
If there’s a better all around restaurant in Milwaukee I’d like to know.
We truly enjoyed our dining experience. I had noted that it was my wife’s birthday and they had a handwritten card on the table, the table was beautifully located, all waitstaff were attentive to it and we received free desserts. I’ve experienced that not all “fine” dining establishments pay attention to such details. Lake Park Bistro did!
We knew that the food and service would be top notch from previous visits. They did not disappoint with the one exception of somewhat unremarkable dessert for the second time. The rest of the meal was excellent. The chef’s dinner pairings were perfect combinations to my Certified Wine Professional wife’s delight.
My favorite level of server attentiveness is that they always appear before you wonder were they are but not so often that you feel distracted from your dining partner. Greg and Jen achieved this balance well.
Go here and enjoy!
this was our first visit to Lake Park Bistro, and it will not be our last. Our server, Jenn, was wonderful in recommendations and her timing to check on our table was spot on!
We will definitely be returning to the Bistro--such nice ambiance and delicious food.
Sunday Brunch was excellent!
Started with escargot and that is by far my favorite thing there. So buttery and delicious.
Salads were very good as always. Ordered the bone in ribeye....was delicious and perfectly done to a medium rare. Melt in your mouth kinds steak. We also had the Artic Char with morels. This is a very special restaurant and always a great experience.
We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We also had our reception at Lake Park Bistro, so we remembered our wonderful day!! As always, everything from cocktails, appetizers, food and a very nice choice if Pinot Noir from our server, the evening was wonderful! Thanks to everyone for making our anniversary special.
Always wonderful. Everything was great. The trout was Devine.
Lake Park Bistro is a perfect spot for a special occasion get together or equally good just eating at the bar. They don't always hit on every cylinder on food, as evidenced by the rainbow trout entree which was outstanding, but the sea bass special in parchment, of which two were ordered at our table, one was properly cooked and the other where the fish was undercooked. They graciously removed it from the bill and comped a dessert as well. It is a busy restaurant and does get loud, but not so much you can't have a conversation. Have been to this restaurant several times and I am sure will be back many times in the future.
Was a wonderful evening. Food delicious, staff accomodating and efficient and friendly yet professional. Was very nice how my friends birthday was acknowledged. Wonderful view. I do wish the acoustics were better, something to absorb the noise.
Another excellent meal in a beautiful (but a little noisy) environment. Attentive staff was well informed and very good!
We always have a great meal here. Prices are steep, so it is a special occasion place for us.
