I came with my girlfriend for her birthday. (Her husband was out of town, so I wanted her to have a nice dinner) The service was awesome! The dinner was spectacular! We were extremely impressed. I cannot get over what a wonderful evening we had.
Beautiful setting in a historic building
There was nothing about our dinner that was not wonderful. By far my favorite Bartolotta restaurant! We had a fantastic evening!
Excellent Dover Sole and Tenderloin Medallions...Service was top notch. Noise level was a little loud, however. Made it difficult at times to hear at a table of 5 without talking loud. Might have been because we were seated by the server entrance to the side kitchen. Either way, excellent food. Great service.
Our party of 6 was celebrating a birthday. However, I doubt we will return to this restaurant again even though the setting is great! It is probably one of the most expensive restaurants in MKE. However, the table service has been deplorable the last 3 times dining here. This time, it really ruined the dinner. Bread did not come until after appetizer was served which was after the wine was opened (we brought our own special wine for first round). No one offered us more wine when the bottle was empty or any other beverge, thus the table did not have more wine. Water was not refilled until I asked the bus boy after waiting 27 min. for our server to come over, which he did not. Our server did not ask how our dinners were. If he had, I would have told him my veggies were very burnt, not roasted, and were uneatable. The meat was not seasoned to my liking, but that is not their fault. I just didn't care for the heavy, overpowering, sage?? flavor (I had the Sat. night special). Other people enjoyed their meals (two other different steak dishes, and 3 halibut plates). The Cream Brule also has changed, and they had the best Cream Brule in town! Now, the sugar topping is very thick. It use to be so thin and fragile. And the cream use to be very thick and very creamy. Now, honestly, it tastes like I bought it, ready prepped, from Costco. No one offered coffee, so we didn't get it, plus it was late (we had an infant along who was perfect the entire evening). It took 2.5 hrs. to eat a salad, main dish, and desert. Even at 30 min. per course, there was a lot of down time, with no beverages, not even water.
Tremendous evening with great Service. Chris was a fantastic server.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. Everything was wonderful.
The service was not up to Bartolotta standards. We’ve been to this restaurant dozens of times and this was the worst we’ve had to date. Food was amazing, as always.
This was my second time visiting lake Park Bistro. You can't beat the atmosphere or the lake Michigan views. We had a business party of six people. We ordered 5 different menu items. They were all excellent from appetizer through desert.
Everything was excellent. You made my sister's birthday special.
Just a lovely day to spend time with a friend over lunch. I always enjoy lunch here.
Celebrated first date 45 years ago.
We were celebrating our anniversary by having a brunch at Lake Park Bistro. They made it special for us by having a card saying Happy Anniversary and giving us a glass of champagne during our meal. The food was good and the service was exceptional. Thanks for making our Anniversary special.
This is one of my favorites! I always have a fun time and delicious food.
Lovely restaurant, great food and excellent service. My only complaint was that it was pretty noisy and quite cold.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance!!
Amazing service. Terrible food.
I selected this restaurant for my parent's anniversary dinner and was disappointed that the best table they could give us was right at the door way next to the servers station with high traffic. I asked for a nice table with a lake view. The steaks were nicely done but the veal was overcooked, charred at the edges, and a small portion.
Perfect place to celebrate ANYTHING! Always great. Fantastic style and attention to detail. Food is amazing. Warm and inviting. A real jewel in this city.
A nice French red wine, gnocchi, steak, chicken, salads, vichyssoise, salmon, halibut, kids mac and cheese, dessert and I think that everyone was well satisfied.
We went there for our first year anniversary dinner. Amazing food. Amazing location. Amazing service. We will be revisiting this restaurant for sure.
Good food. Excellent service. We celebrated two birthdays and they each received a free small dessert.
My original birthday dinner plan fell through. I loved Lake Park Bistro since it opened but wasn't sure they would have a last minute opening. We lucked out , thanks to Open Table, and got the reservation I wanted. The summer seasonal menu was perfect. We started with the Mousse and Pate. Moved into a light and delicious fresh salad with light vinegarette dressing. I greatly enjoyed the veal tenderloin with asparagus, English peas, small potatoes and asparagus cream. My husband had a seafood medley with potatoes in parchment that was also incredibly delicious. The chocolate mousse dessert was the best. Chris our server was informed, friendly and attentive. We got more than our monies worth,. Can't wait to retyrn!
Dining at lake Park Bistro is always a special occasion. Dining at LPB to celebrate a special occasion (in my case it was my 39th wedding anniversary) made our special day even grander.
I noted my anniversary when I reserved a table, and also included a request for a table for two at the east windows, which provide a great view of Lake Michigan. LPB was bursting at the seams when we arrived. The flurry of activity, however, did not deter the hostess who confirmed our reservation from greeting us warmly, wishing us a happy anniversary, and calmly sorting out our seating options, since there would be a wait time for a lake view table.
No problem, what better way to start a party than cracking open a bottle of champagne while conversing at the bar for awhile. We were promptly seated after finishing our first pour, and received another “happy anniversary” greeting from both of our servers.
The rest of the evening flowed perfectly and included wonderful
appetizer, salad, entrees, dessert, and wines (including a complementary Chambord & bubbly anniversary cocktail with our dessert).
I’ve been to LPB on slow nights, as well as nights where the place is literally rocking with every table booked. Dining there, even when the place is packed, is never rushed. The wait staff is always friendly, well-informed, and attentive but unobtrusive. The kitchen is always on their game. Special occasion or not, LPB is consistently a great place to dine.
Wonderful food and service
Noise level a bit high
Found out they don't honor open table rewards. Bummer!
The Lake Park Bistro never disappoints. We sat at the kitchen table and were treated to extra attention by the maitre d' and a showing of each different dish as it was being plated. Also, a much quieter area when the restaurant is full, as it often is. The food is creative and well prepared. The salad and soup courses as fantastic as the mains. And the prices are consistent with the quality and the service. And we received $50 in credit toward a future visit by joining their loyalty program.
Always a wonderful evening. They never disappoint!
If you have not tried this beautiful restaurant -it is a must.
Loved the atmosphere with lake view. Met our adult children for a midwest trip and enjoyed dinner here....food was amazing and service impeccable.
Very good almost anytime and always great service by Ann at the bar. I had the Boudin Blanc which was tasty for anon traditional presentation
Food was amazing. I asked the waiter if it made sense for me to get the steak over the duck since it was a french restaurant. He kindly informed me that the sauces made it French. I went with the steak, rare plus or in between rare and medium rare. Was cooked perfectly. The sauces were out of this world, somehow adding so much flavor but not interfering with the steak itself. The french onion soup was good but was a ton of cheese on top. Some people may think of that as a plus but it was just a little bit over the top for me. Since it was our first time our waiter provided us with a free order of their gnocci which was also amazing as far as flavor. It was gnocci but not prepared in the traditional manner, I would fail to describe it accurately so will just recommend trying it. Ambiance was amazing, we made our reservation for early so got an amazing lake view. Friendly staff, great location. I have been to the other Bartolotta and fancy food locations but this one has become my new #1. Only reason I did not give 5 for value of food is it was expensive even as far as our usual fine dining goes. I am not saying it wasn't worth it, it absolutely was and is my new favorite restaurant, just come prepared.
Romantic but warm, bustling but chill. Best cocktails! View! Unobtrusive but attentive staff. Amazingly subtle flavorings and a good selection of French favorites, authentic. No fusion here. Classic French music, perfect lighting and ambiance. Not to be missed, even if you're not into French food
Always a winner and the food lives up to expectations
My husband and I went celebrate our wedding anniversary along with my daughter and her husband, who were also celebrating their wedding anniversary. Nice table with a beautiful view of Lake Park. The food was wonderful and the waitstaff took great care of us. When we arrived, a lovely note was on table, congratulating us on our anniversary. After the meal, they served each of us a glass of champagne in honor of our special occasion. We had a wonderful time.
Service and food were excellent. Since it was Saturday, only the brunch menu was available. I mentioned that I had been hoping to have steak tartare, a week day item, and the waitress immediately offered to check to see if it could be made up specially and came back with a positive response. She could've just said "sorry". My 2 out of town companions were very impressed with the atmosphere and the cuisine. I was glad I took them there.
As usual, our meal was very good and we always enjoy the ambiance. The best part of our experience was the service we received from Kira, who was a real professional!
We started with cocktails, unfortunately my favorite a Lemon Drop Martini was a huge disappointment! Didn’t even look or taste lemony, was actually murky looking! I don’t think there was even any vodka in it??? I spoke with a manager after & she said they infuse their own vodka, not impressed!
We had an appetizer of scallops, while very good, at $19 for 2 medium size scallops, they were overpriced! The escargot in puff pastry was amazing! Their onion soup was delicious and not over salty! Tenderloin was true to med rare, not well seared, & not flavorful! Sea Bass steamed in parchment was the thinist slice I’ve ever been served, it was accompanied by 2 flavorful shrimp, & mussels. The broccolini was over cooked! They did serve a delicious flourless chocolate birthday cake, compliments of the house! We also enjoyed a lemon tart with raspberries!
