Everything was excellent - from the service to the food and wine. It’s our favorite restaurant!
Could not have been nicer.
Service by Greg was superb.
Food was fantastic
Hadn't been to Lake Park Bistro for a few years, so wasn't 100% sure it would live up to previous experiences. Everything was just as I recalled - good food, fantastic service and a quality overall dinner.
Excellent experience at LBP. Bar was too crowded for a drink before dinner (Sat after Valentine's Day, 6:45) so we went straight to the table. They accommodated my request for a tablet in a particular room, which was appreciated, and a nice start to the evening. Room was very loud and energetic.
Service was professional, working in a team, and main server was able to make good food and wine recommendations.
3-Cheeses Plate was enough for two people, had two cheeses I'd never had before plus one Bleu from WI that we like. Gorgonzola salad was fresh and crisp, excellent. Server suggested the boeuf bourguigon - it was absolutely perfect for a WI winter night - very rich, perfect texture, super flavorful. Wife's special chicken dish was excellent, for chicken. Banana tart dessert was also delicious. Total with one cocktail and three wines was $230 plus tip.
I cannot think of a better place to celebrate a wedding anniversary, than to have a romantic dinner at Lake Park Bistro. So, we celebrated our anniversary at the Lake Park Bistro. The view looking over the bluff by lake Michigan is spectacular. Kira was our server and has an excellent command of the menu and can describe menu items very accurately. We started with the mixed mushroom soup. This soup was served with a very good texture and a more appealing color than what is typically served at other restaurants. The soup was served at the perfect temperature with black truffle oil, that gave the soup a most delightful flavor. This was
one of many highlights for the evening. If you like steak, go with the Ribeye with mushrooms. The steak has an excellent flavor with a good sear cooked rare. The Ribeye includes brussel sprouts and yukon gold potatoes. Our dessert was a valrhona chocolate mouse cake with candied hazelnuts and vanilla ice scream. This is one of my favorite restaurants and while it is about a 80 mile drive for us, this restaurant is worth the drive. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary celebration.
Amazing... best romantic place in town
The same great service and fine food we expect from Bartolotta’s! Lake Park is our favorite.
Absolutely top notch food and service. Truly one of Milwaukee's best restaurants.
Not a bad selection on the menu. Room over-looking lake can get very loud at dinner, front dining area is quieter.
The food was delicious! Even the coffee tasted great! Creme brûlée was SO sweet. Unique and delicious
Everything was fantastic. Thank you! Please add more local craft beer to the bar.
Lake Park Bistro is wonderful and always a great dining experience. Service is impeccable and the food is excellent. Makes any dinner feel like a special occasion.
Wanted a special Valentine's meal with my wife. The environment is exceptional. The food was excellently prepared and presented. I had sea bass and my wife had the special surf and turf. We ordered the lobster bisque as a starter. Unbelievable! We will go there again.
Bartalotta's Lake Park Bistro completely missed the mark during our visit for our anniversary. We began by ordering a bottle of Côtes du Jura, Domaine de L'Aigle, En Griffez. A while later, our wine arrived, and I questioned the bottle, as it was a white Bordeaux. The waitress insisted it was "420." I took a look at the wine list again, and we were indeed given a 2016 Chateau Ducasse, which also was labeled "420." It took about 1/2 hour for the wait staff to attend to us again, and I pointed out the issue with the wine (we did not drink any during this time). The waitress immediately apologized and went to get the correct bottle. Some time went by, and she returned and said that they were out of the Côtes du Jura, but that they would comp the Chateau Ducasse. We said that would be satisfactory, but did point out that the wine list showed the Chateau Ducasse as a 2015 (not 2016), so their wine list must not be updated regularly. This was disappointing, as they are a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner.
As a starter, we ordered a cheese plate, followed by the Oeuf Mollet avec Champignons. Surprisingly the Oeuf Mollet came out first. It was a brilliant dish. Approximately 1/2 hour went by and our cheese plate finally arrived. It was a good variety with fruit/nut bread, grapes, honey, etc. Before we could finish this course, we were told that our entrees were ready, so we were asked to put the cheese plate aside.
My wife had the French onion soup, and I had the Lentils du Puy. Both had excellent flavor, however both were barely warm. After waiting so long for the wine issue to be resolved, and for waiting so long for our first course, we didn't mention anything about this to the staff, and just chalked it up to a bad experience. The entire meal took nearly three hours for a salad, cheese plate, and two entrees. With all the positive reviews, we were surprised at the issues we had with the wine, the service timing, and the lack of hot food.
The food was amazing! Delicious French-inspired dishes. Staff was friendly & helpful. Lovely experience
The food was excellent—perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our waitress/waiter was very friendly and helpful in choosing food and wine. My only complaint was that the food came out fairly slowly—We appreciated not being rushed, but it seemed to take longer than it needed to. Also, my espresso took a very long time—I had already finished my desert by the time it came and it was lukewarm when it arrived. Otherwise is was a great dining experience.
