Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We went for our anniversary. Everything overall was very nice. Unfortunately, the Swiss chard with our lamb chops was gritty. Like it wasn't washed well, sandy. We let our waitress know, and she apologized and brought us some Brussel sprouts. They were ok, very charred. But lots of butter....
My husband's second lamb chop was very small, and a bit over cooked. It should never have been served, it had 3 rib bones too.
Brought us each a glass of champagne for our anniversary, and an extra dessert to make up for the Swisschard problem.
Service fabulous, beautiful place, overall food very nice.
Our server was beyond expectations - she described food in a way that made my mouth water and made me want to try unique food available at the time. She knew history of the venue and impact of current events. I hoped to host a memorable birthday celebration and she made that possible
Perfect! The location and the view is outstanding. The service was great and the waitress was very informative about the specials. The food was very good also. It was a outing of 5 friends who have been friends for 70 years and we stayed way pass the time of closing for lunch and no one hurried us along. It was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend to to others.
Lake Park Bistro remains one of my favorite places for brunch. I have never been a fan of the brunch buffet, so their ‘pick three’ menu (starter, entree and dessert) is perfectly suited to someone who wants hot food made to order and brought to the table. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was a bit slow, but reasonable considering all the tables seemed to be full. Honestly, we enjoyed the leisurely pace and used the time to enjoy each others company.
The location is a Milwaukee landmark overlooking Lake Michigan. It is situated on an actual park with beautiful views of the lake. The inside is fancy, but with a rustic charm. Food, beverages, and service are top notch. Prices are a bit higher, but not outrageous. Perfect for that special occasion or romantic getaway. A true bucket list place to visit in Milwaukee.
Had a wonderful Anniversary Experience having never been to the restaurant before but hearing great things. Our waitress Sarah B did an amazing job, all staff was very attentive, they even made a handmade card with a personalized Happy Anniversary note. Thanks for wonderful experience.
We count on Lake Park Bistro to make our family's special occasions memorable. We've enjoyed Mother's Day and special birthdays there many times and everyone, from teens to age 90 have enjoyed their meals. On the rare occasion when something wasn't right, the house made it right and we went away happy. My only reservation is that the noise level can get high on busy nights.
Service was okay, not exceptional. Noise level was awful. One particular gentleman was obnoxiously loud. (Don’t think he had a clue.) Food was very good. Pricy, but for the most part, worth it. Second time there with noise level being so uncomfortable - will be awhile until we venture back again. Thank you.
We have dined at Bartalota's before and the food and service was always excellent. We have never been there on a Saturday evening and the noise of the small children at the next table was distracting. We understand you can not deny people to bring their children so this is just an observation.
The good was good. Small portions but to be expected.
My main complaint was with the service which is shocking coming from a Bartolotta restaurant. We were not read the specials until we had already reviewed the menu and were brought a birthday cake when it was our anniversary.
Additionally, The waitress was very clumsy. She spilled the gravy for my lamb chop on the table and knocked our silverware to the ground.
They were pleasant but not the service experience I expect for a restaurant of this level.
As always, Lake Park Bistro did not disappoint. Superb food and service in a lovely dining atmosphere. I always feel as if I have been transported back to Europe. I have been going to Lake Park Bistro since I moved here from Paris 17 years ago and it has never disappointed. There are other new and interesting restaurants in Milwaukee with superb food but none can deliver the full package of food, wine, service and atmosphere as Lake Park Bistro does.
Lake Park Bistro is my favorite restaurant in the Milwaukee area. This visit was for Sunday brunch. We were seated at a window, overlooking Lake Michigan, on a sunny fall day. The service was good, the food was terrific, and the company was excellent. What more could one want. (The brunch is fully served - no buffet!)
The Bistro is also a lovely place for lunch in general - just wish they were open on Saturdays. At night, it turns into a warm, romantic place for dinner. And always, the food is exceptional. (Best onion soup in town, wonderful snails as starters!)
