Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Service is very good and ambience is truly special. We’ve been coming here for brunch on an annual basis for 10 years to celebrate family birthdays. Over this time period the experience has become less special as there is fewer wait staff, changes in menu options (more alacarte) and lower overall food quality. I would recommend it if you’ve never been to Lake Park Bistro as it is in a unique setting with good service and tasty food, just not great food.
We absolutely loved the whole dining experience from the warm greeting by manager ( I am ashamed to say I didn’t ask his name), to our wonderful servers Sara( sp) and Omar, to the delicious food.
This was our second experience dining at a Bartolotta’s restaurant ( the Harbor House being the first) Lake Park Bistro is a hidden gem and one that we will revisit.
Thank you for making us feel so special.
Noisy and the acoustics make conversation difficult. The food is good, sometimes great, and pricy. The wine list is excellent if you know French wines but ignores wines from other parts of the world that produce excellent wines. The service is attentive and the servers very helpful.
The wait staff were very helpful without bothering us too much. The food was excellent and beautifully presented; and rich with complex flavors. The duck liver starter, in particular, is recommended. Our little table by the window offered a romantic view of the lake.
Last minute change to our reservation for 7 on a busy Sunday brunch called 20 minutes before a 12:15 reservation to change to 1:15 No problem When we arrived the restaurant was packed No delay walked us right to our table in a perfect spot and had a fantastic brunch Always the finest service and food quality
Lake Park Bistro is one of my favorite menus so I chose to go there on my birthday. The service is outstanding even though it was quite busy. The noise levels were so loud it was hard to have a conversation at our table. This was the first time that I was disappointed with my entree. I ordered the skate as I usually do. The texture was almost gummy. It was odd. The potatoes under it seemed like they had been there a long time. I ate about half of the meal and had the rest boxed up. I opened the container the next morning to give my dog the leftovers and the smell was horrid! This has never happened to me anywhere before let alone at such a first rate restaurant. My dinner companions were happy with their food. Our wine was fantastic. So was the mushroom soup. We will be back but, I'll not be ordering the skate.
My wife and I went to Lake Park Bistro to celebrate my birthday. It was an amazing experience. The food was outstanding for all four courses. We had a great table near the window with a view of Lake Michigan. The restaurant was perfectly lit and gave off such a warm and cozy feel. Our servers (Elizabeth and Brian) were also very good and treated us to an extra dessert because we had such a hard time choosing only one to share. Can't say enough...it was a memorable experience for both my wife and I.
Thank you LPB
Brunch is always a favorite! We had steak and eggs, salmon and crab Benedict along with the mushroom soup du jour. The mushroom soup has truffle oil and is a purée with fine chunks of mushrooms. A winter favorite of ours. All of the brunch food was fabulous as usual and the bernaise sauce was of perfect consistency and flavor. The croissants are unlike any others in the area. We dined on New Years Eve afternoon and the Lake Room was full. However, given the crowd, the service was impeccable.
We arrived early and had drinks at the bar. The bartenders were very nice and made great drinks. But being close to the kitchen made it very noisy. I had the chicken which was delicious. My husband had the duck (at the suggestion of our server) and it was tough.
We like to go to a nice dinner once a year around New Years. For over $200, we were expecting the same amazing experience we always get at lake park bistro. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. We have been here many times but have not been in about a year. We recommend it to all of our friends and family because the steak is usually melt in your mouth amazing. We both ordered the filet medium rare. My husbands was half fat and mine were both done different. One filet was around medium well and one was done well. Absolutely no pink. For paying over $200 for a meal and having previous amazing experiences, this was a great disappointment. I can’t say we will be returning even though this was by far our favorite steak place in the city... such a bummer!
Great dining and wine selection for our anniversary! Great ambience, service, food was superb and terrific wine list and cocktails. We have dined here on many occasions. The staff also delivered complimentary champagne as we celebrated a special occasion. Thank you!
Wonderful evening, beginning to end! From the friendly greeting from the coat check girl to the thanks and good night from every employee we passed on the way out, this place does it all right! We dined for a birthday celebration and were greeted by hostess and servers with “happy birthday” and a hand-written card. Food was amazing. Splurge and get the baked French Onion. Best ever!
The whole family was in for an extended stay during Christmas. I needed at least one day off from cooking so we all went to my favorite restaurant, Lake Park Bistro. They did not disappoint. The menu is varied, so there's always something for every palette . Seating was a little tight, (there were 8 of us at a table in the middle of the dining room), and it was a bit hard for the servers to maneuver through the chairs of all the other diners but since we had a 7 PM reservation it didn't take long before the dining cleared out a bit and gave everyone plenty of space. The food was great and the service was excellent!
