Outstanding meal, chef accommodated special requests, wait staff attentive, non intrusive. Extensive menu, all dishes beautifully prepared and presented. Each diner raved about the quality and freshness of the varied appetizers, salads and entrees. The quiet, relaxed ambiance in this neighborhood restaurant made for a most enjoyable evening. The desserts (all made on the premises) accompanied by a most personable visit with the owner was the exclamation point of the night! So glad to have discovered this gem of a restaurant, certainly known to the locals. Exceptional food, outstanding personal service - we are sure to Bartolino's again and again!
Last night in NYC ended with a delicious dinner with superb service. It was my first visit, and I highly recommend the fettuccine alfredo and the calamari with red sauce pasta - delightful.
The food is absolutely delicious!!! The staff is extremely nice!!!
Beware of choosing anything from their list of specials...most of the dishes on their menu range in mid $20. One of our group order a special..the veal chop & it was $50!! Of course they don't tell you the price. The food was tasty, but felt a bit tricked by the price of the special. The service was excellent..there was only two other people in the restaurant, so don't know what it will be like if it is busy
Great little gem hidden away in Astoria. Quality food and service. Prices are what one would expect for the quality of food you are being served in a fine establishment such as this. I recommend the veal Bartolino special, tender and full of flavour. Owner Bartolo is a nice guy and has a good attitude, two qualities lacking in many so called Italian restaurants. My suggestion is get that someone special in your life and have a nice dinner.
They told us the did not accept open table and also said they had no tables available. It was Christmas Eve.
$20 cab ride to find the restaurant closed. The bartender in the bar said the restaurant was closed for the holiday. She was very nice and called her boss to let him know about our situation and all he offered was to apply our cab fare to our next meal at his restaurant. Unfortunately we live 4 hours away. He blamed OpenTable and OpenTable blamed Bartolino's. We're out $40. I also had bought a $25 gift certificate for the other couple we were with, so we're actually out $65.
I'm a regular customer to this restaurant and I enjoyed the food there every time. In fact, I like to order the same seafood combination entree every time when I was there. However, during my latest visit this dish was horrible!!! Totally below the par. I didn't say anything to them and still gave them a big tip as I wanted to be nice. I think it was either because their regular chef was on vacation that day or worst the regular chef has left. I'll give them one more try. If their regular chef has left the restaurant, then I probably won't go back to this place!
As usual, the food is outstanding and the service is very attentitive, polite and efficient.
Returned back to this Italian restaurant, always like their cooking. The entrees portion size is way too huge! They should drop a few dollars on entrees to offer smaller portion size, so that customers who don't plan to take a to-go bag can have some room in their stomach to have some appetizer and desserts. They over charge on orange juice and soda.
