Barsa Tapas Lounge & Bar
Ordered 6 dishes from the tapas menu for a late lunch. Every one was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Service was attentive and knowledgeable.
Excellent service! Isaac was generous with his knowledge of the menu and suggestions. The food was really delicious! We had a blast!
One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston! Great deals and even better food.
I was there celebrating birthday, which I put in the reservation and told person who sat us, and nothing was done by server nor did the server really seem to care that we were there. Cute restaurant, average tapas but no real personality from staff.
Amazing tapas and service
Date night favorite.. Friendly staff and awesome food
We have been eating here for years and always loved the food but this time we were very disappointed in all the food. We had to turn away the octopus as it was not cooked enough. It used to be our favorite dish. We found out they lost their top chef and all the food showed it. Unfortunately we will not be back. Time to try some new places in town.
Food has declined since last year
amazing food and over all experience! loved everything we ordered and our server
Barsa is always wonderful ... great food, fun and interesting, with a lively ambiance (not too lively) and great happy hour prices. Barsa is one of our go to places, so I know I'll be inviting many more people to try it with this review! We live on the peninsula, so its a great walk (we reward ourselves with an array of marvelous small plates).
Barsa had excellent tapas. The portions were great for the price and the wine selection was immense. The decor is lacking greatly and the service was very slow to begin with, even when the place was near empty. I will be back though for the food was tasty.
Wonderful food. We Are never disappointed
New favorite place!
It was uncomfortably warm. Also short-staffed.
Always my favorite tapas in Charleston! A classic.
We love Barsa for its great food and drinks, atmosphere and service. We keep on coming back to this restaurant from time to time and always enjoy our time there.
Nice place. We had grilled octopus, Brussels Sprouts, and paella. First two were good the paella was good not great. Server was very good.
They do not take into account your request for a specific table, even if you show up and the table you want is available. Super annoying. The food usually makes up for having to sit next to the bathroom in an empty restaurant.
The food was excellent, the options were excellent, our server Liz was excellent. If I am ever back in Charleston I will absolutely come here again.
Barsa was AMAZING. Tapas that were better than 95% of what we had in Spain. Will be back!
Great food as always and fun to have so many plates to share with others!
so delicious! Friendly... everybody! I can't wait to go back
Emma was wonderful! Loved everything.....especially the carrots and scallops.
Food and value are excellent! The paella really is outstanding.
Wonderful experience for an easy get together with friends Lamb meatballs and olives were delicious
Always delicious!!! Best sangria and service in town.
Delightful and knowledgable staff. Isaac was our waiter. Loved the Jack’s Call, their Lowcountry take on a Manhattan. Mushrooms outstanding. Carrot a big surprise. Prosciutto wrapped dates amazing.
Great restaurant with vegetarian options. Loved it.
Bustling, celebratory (loud) atmosphere. Would be happy to return!
Always a great time and experience
Great food, great value. Best tapas I’ve had in a while. I would highly recommend
Unimpressed. The fried tapas were over-battered and salty. The grilled octopus was sauce-covered 'mush'. Aside from a few clams, mussels and pieces of overcooked fish, the paella was bland and tasteless. On a positive note, the service was great and so was the ambience.
Great food, really bad service
Wonderful food. Best paella I have ever have.
The drinks were good. Service was very good. Tapas were good. But the paella was not good at all. There was no flavor, no taste. Very disappointed. Ive wanted to go for a long time.
The food was unimpressive. There were two dishes we did enjoy (octopus and the steak), but everything else was either overcooked or bland. Our service was good and waitress was friendly. I was sadly disappointed because we love tapas restaurants.
I think their paella is the best in the city! Large parking area and reasonably priced drinks during 4-7 PM happy hour.
Food was wonderful. Every bite was packed with flavor. The Paella was sooo delicious. It did not disappoint.
Our server initially was very attentive and then felt like she disappeared. Not sure if she had tables on the other side of the restaurant.
All in all a great dining experience
Wonderful atmosphere with a delicious selection of tapas. Our server, Erin, provided us with a few excellent recommendations and made us feel very welcome. We were able to get a couple of plates out at a time, which allowed us to enjoy our wine and conversation without feeling rushed. Great experience -- can't wait to come back!
Made a reservation two weeks prior for 6:30 had to wait 20 mins for a table I didn't request. Given a strange option to take a table sooner and be out of it by 8:30 or wait for my reserved table , I opted to wait but still didn't get the table requested, but time limit lifted. ordered fried mushrooms they were good , grilled octopus was too salty , also the grilled shrimp was heavy on salt. the paella was only OK. Drinks were good wait staff was excellent. the saving grace was the dessert , ordered the chocolate flour less tort excellent and the flan was very good. I would recommend this place for drinks and dessert. Luckily I live in Charleston and it has plenty of excellent restaurants. Off to try the next.
