We offer live music with The Kings of Jazz every Thursday from 7 until 10. We have two seatings for the show - one at 6:00 and another at 8:00. We kindly request the 6:00 seatings return their tables no later than 7:45 in order to accommodate the following seating. Great food and service
Calamari, tile fish and hanger steak were the stand outs for us. Great waiter!
Friend from out of town visiting. We had fun!
Isaac was our waiter and was very attentive in spite of a large “Happy Hour “ crowd. Food was excellent and we had a great time. Definitely a place to visit again.
Our favorite. Great food, service, value, plus parking. You just can't go wrong dining here.
Wonderful food and service. Flavors are on point!!!
The food and the drinks are outstanding. We tried 6 different little plates and the seafood paella. Everything was very flavorful and done perfectly.
Good food nice service. Little noisy but moved to booth much better
Barsa was great, waitress was friendly and very helpful when I asked about recommendations for food and drinks. Food was delicious! Perfect place to hangout for tapas
Authentic spanish tapas and these guys know how to make sangria. Wine, olives, and tapas. Yum. It felt like Spain.
Great atmosphere and service and good. Good selection. Meatballs - exceptional. Pan con tomate - great. Calamari - wonderful. Paella - not my favorite, but not bad. The rice was good, but could have used more meat and seasoning (my personal taste - you may love it). Overall, it was awesome and I'll be back. Really liked it.
Emma who waited on us was fantastic!!
Food was excellent however service was slow. Loved the ambiance - they have an outdoor patio for when the weather is warm.
The food here is unbelievable. The specials were well prepared, paired exceptionally well and offered something for everyone. Having happy hour every evening until 7 is a nice way to see multiple clientele coming and going within 90 minutes of one another. The wait staff was helpful, courteous and personable. I still haven't had the paella which I know they're known for.......I'll have to return. :-)
Outstanding! Our server was delightful ... attentive without being overbearing. The beet salad is scrumptious and the brussels sprouts were diving (and we are picky about our brussels sprouts). My husband and I shared paella and it was excellent. Happy hour at Barsa is such a great value, but their menu is a great value any time. We are frequent diners at Barsa and will continue to be.
Great food and service as always!
We had a party of 8 including one toddler and they were very accommodating. Food was amazing and server was very attentive!
Always the same......wonderful!!
Wonderful place to dine with a group because it's Tapas and generally not too expensive. Recommended!
Great food and really good service. Nice selection of wine and the Lamb meatballs are delicious
Excellent food selection and service. Finally found a restaurant in Charleston that serves real paella.
Amazing, as usual. I’ve been here more than a dozen times and this place never disappoints. Best sangria in town. Love the tapas, paella, ambiance and always wonderful service.
We were looking forward a romantic Valentines Day dinner (2019). Our reservation was at 8:15 pm. My fiancé was looking forward to our dinner, as we both like the small plates and the delicious food at Barsa. She had specifically requested we eat at Barsa for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a band perform that evening. The band was so loud we were unable to talk; so much for our romantic dinner. We had ordered drinks when we arrived, but decided to leave after having the drinks. We asked the waitress to bring us our bill. She was very nice, and she offered to sit us outside near the heaters, but it was too cold. She did apologize profusely, which was nice.
We will go back to Barsa, but we'll check to be sure they do not have a band playing.
Luckily, we were able to find a different restaurant on Open Table.... we were able to have our romantic dinner there instead of at Barsa.
Two other points of irritation. There are two parking lanes at Barsa. The lane closer to the restaurant is not too bad but is too narrow to easily pull out of the parking spaces; the lane further away has HUGE holes in the surface. The restaurant should invest money to fix the parking lot; make the first lane a little wider and fix the holes in the second lane. The second point is they need to trim the hedges by the sidewalk you have to walk past on the way from the parking lot to the restaurant. The bushes are growing out so far you have to dodge the bushes and cannot easily walk down the sideway.
Always a great place to dine for exceptional food. We had the large paella, stuffed dates, croquettes, and beet salad. Happy hour is every day 4-7pm with a lot of unique drinks along with your favorites. Great atmosphere and my go to place when friends are in town. Parking behind the building so no worries there for a downtown ( slightly uptown) restaurant. Staff is attentive and friendly. A MUST try if you haven't dined at Barsa before.
Underwhelming - went with our daughter and son-in-law after their rave reviews from previous visits. Got off to an iffy start when we got no menus or water for probably 5+ minutes. Our server told us there had been a miscommunication - fair enough... Then we ordered a bottle of wine and paella (since it takes 30 minutes) and expected to order several rounds of tapas to start. Our tapas order was taken much later and they then arrived one at a time (so much for sharing...), with some coming after the paella. Took quite a while for the wine too. The food generally tasted pretty good, but I don't consider it a good value at all. Like I said - underwhelming.
Awesome food, wine n service. One of our favorites in Charleston.
A party of 11 and we enjoyed ourselves. Max did a great job helping us.
Service was terrible
Food was good
Eventually when we had not gotten all the food we ordered we asked for the remaining food to come to the table in a to go box as well as the check
The check arrived but still not the food
We paid the check got our card back and still no food
We left having paid for food we never got
There was a huge table of maybe at a high top 20 seated before us that was clearly taking a lol of the wait staffs attention and those at the the fully seated bar so our lithe two top was ignored even thought we had a reservation
Disappointed because we have generally had good service in the past
My friends and I tried multiple dishes on the menu and all dishes were very tasty. We loved the Seafood Paella! I highly recommend this restaurant. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and they did a great job accommodating our large group.
Always great food and lots of fun to share it all around the table
We love Barsa and eat there often. This time, my husband and I broke out of our rut of cheese board and empanadas (which are always great, by the way) and tried multiple veggie dishes. We loved every bite. Cocktails are great and reasonably priced, especially for Charleston, and the service is always friendly yet not overbearing. It definitely remains a top choice for us!
Always love the tapas here’s, but the rotating specials were especially good tonight!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Absolutely amazing everytine
Isaac as a server was not so great. The rest of the experience was awesome.
It was great!
Wonderful as always! We have taken multiple friends there and they always return on their own!
It is our absolute favorite restaurant in Charleston for casual dining and special occasions. A neighborhood gem that welcomes everyone.
When arriving we were told by the hostess we only had 45 mins as there was another reservation for our table, this started the whole night off on a sour note. I’ve NEVER been told something like this prior to sitting at a restaurant.
It was my wife’s birthday, to be honest her and I talked briefly about leaving and going elsewhere but on a Saturday at 7pm our options would’ve been very limited.
The food was tasty BUT the hostess pretty much ruined the whole night and we won’t be coming back. Very RUDE.
First vist, some of best tapas I ever had, great cocktails, will return anytime Im in Charleston.
Emma our server was great!Food was awesome- especially loved the veggie dishes:)
