Our philosophy of contemporary Spanish cuisine has its roots in the traditional Spanish Cocina – meaning, tapas to larger plates that include the recipes and ingredients from the Iberian Peninsula. Barsa's menu is designed to also pay tribute the avant garde movement of the Nueva Cocina Española in what we call contemporary Spanish gastronomy.
At Barsa, art is not optional. It’s our salt and pepper, we think Gaudi, dare Dali and play Picasso. We are housed in a 19th century heritage protected building where internationally acclaimed designer John Tong has recreated the atmosphere of Barcelona, while paying tribute to the City’s culture and immortalized artists.
Barsa story and concept was derived by Toronto native Aras Azadian’s passion and inspiration to recreate the atmosphere and experience of his time living in Barcelona and his travels through the Iberian Peninsula
Great sangria! The apps were very tasty, would order another main next time.
Excellent take on tapas and Spanish food in general!
We were disappointed with our experience here. We ordered more than 10 dishes and 5 of them came to the table all at once - it felt rushed and made it more difficult to enjoy everything that was on the table. After the second wave of dishes it became apparent our waiter had forgotten to punch in some of the items we had ordered. He came to the table to ask what else we were expecting and then we waited a while before those plates arrived. We went from 5 dishes on the table at once to no food at all. The pacing definitely needed some work. The manager was kind enough to comp the two dishes that had been forgotten though so that was generous!
We always go to Barsa is the closes Barcelona food in Toronto
Absolutely loved the live music. Food was well prepared and waitress was very helpful
Delicious meal! Brought my mum here for an early Mother’s Day dinner. She absolutely loved it!
Returning for the 3rd time since January 2019. However, sad to say it was not at all the same or even remotely close to my family’s last 2 visits. Hope it goes back to whatever they did before January. We will like to see our taste menu that we loved be restored.
Delicious food ... awesome sangria ... best server ever! ( she was super with the kids) Whole family thoroughly enjoyed the culinary experience. Can’t wait to go back again!!
Great atmosphere. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Incredible food. Possibly our new favorite restaurant in Toronto.
Nice ambiance, small portions
Fabulous! Excellent food and cool, romantic vibes. I would definitely return!
Went therefor our anniversary. Great food!
We did the $60 taster menu and it was DELICIOUS. Amazing food, superb service, wicked ambiance. Would come back again and again. Highly recommend.
The food was okay. We felt rushed and it seemed like they were in a hurry to move us out so they could fill the table.
Server was fantastic. Food and atmosphere were lovely.
I love Barsa. I've been many times, especially for the half/price wine night in particular the Albarinho!! From my region in Spain. The service is fantastic and the food is always good. I will keep going:)
A bit pricey but worth it. Great service. Great ambience. Very cozy and intimate. We went there around 4:30 when it opened so there wasn't much people and noise.
Very good food, not inexpensive. Gets noisy early with the after-work crowd from the area. Great service and good ambiance.
Our waiter was very gruff and unfriendly. At first I thought it was an act but then I realized it was actually his personality. Not a great start to the evening!
The menu is not very extensive and is very expensive. The bill four four people was nearly $400 before tip and that was with a 50 dollar bottle of wine. All of the plates are tapas which generally we love. However in this instance we found $33 dollars for a small plate of aged ham and $33 dollars for a cheese plate with approximately 8 small triangles of manchego ripe cheese to excessively pricey. The octopus was nice but nothing outstanding. The patatas brava were soggy.... not like a true crispy browned dish. All in the food was disappointing to the point I went home ready to find something good to eat.
Finally, the restaurant is super noisy. Don’t go hear if you want to hear what anyone in your party is discussing.
Much better place in toronto for that much money. Take a miss on this one.
The food was good and so were the drinks. The paella was tasty and good to share (max for 2 ppl tho... but we were suggested it would feed 4)! The ambiance and decor are nice, and it makes you feel like you are in a real Spanish Taberna. HOWEVER, the service was really not the best and very disorganized considering that the restaurant was quite empty (maybe 2 or 3 more tables aside from ours). The service kind of ruined our overall experience at this restaurant.
I would recommend this place if money is not an issue for you as it is quite pricey for what it offers. The space is very nicely decorated, inside space is beautiful and less noisy, the food is overall good (some dishes were amazing others mediocre, consult with the server, they know), service pretty rushed, not very good at handling a full space.
Very good food in a great location. Service was not the best and tapas served too fast. Next time we will ask for tapas to be served one at a time.
Fantastic food, best octopus ever and delicious sangria!
Good environment, little price for the portion
Delicious!! It is a must if you're down in Toronto. It's like walking into a Barcelona restaurant!
Fantastic overall, can’t wait to go back!
Like the 1/2 price wine bottle on Wednesday
And the food was excellent
Food was disappointing. Nice ambience though and great location.
The 4 of us had dinner and we sampled 6 tapas from the menu (no mains). We were underwhelmed by the taste of most tapas (charcuterie board, patatas bravas, grilled octopus). The service and ambiance is what made our evening somewhat enjoyable.
Always a great experience with Chef Andres everything tasted amazing! Thank you!
Food was very good. Sangria not too good. A little overpriced. Great ambiance and great music
We were the first customers in the morning, so wasn’t busy at all. Service was extremely slow and the food took so long to arrive (there were only 2 or 3 groups seated after us yet their food arrived first). By the time our orders did arrive, every dish was STONE COLD!!! As if it had been left sitting out for at least 20 mins. They kindly re-made all of our orders, yet even the second time round the food was still kind of lukewarm...
Very nice ambience, but the slow service & food temp was disappointing. I could understand if it was a lunch rush, or if the place was packed, but in this case it was not.
We went with a group of 6 and did the chefs selection tasting. The food was a bit underwhelming, strange timing and way too long between courses which caused the group to get full too quickly. By the end we had stacks of leftover food. The ambiance was vibrant so I'd recommend this not so much for the food, but drinks with perhaps a few tapas to accompany.
Good food. Fun atmosphere, with live guitar and rock walls. Would recommend and go again
Service was outstanding, foods and drinks magnificent. Fair prices too. I cannot recommend it enough
Just don’t do tasting menu, I ordered two tasting menu which mean to be five courses per person, but they only gave us five one person size dish and ask us to share, it’s ridiculous....
Great food and warm welcoming. Everything is perfect except if you're looking to a quiet place !
The ambiance and underground setting was beautiful. Sangria was so good , a lot of sangria options which is maybe one of the only reasons I’d go back . The food portions were small and very over priced, a friend ordered the chorizos for 30 and it was 3 tiny pieces with two small toasts ... I mean the meat was good but not worth the value. The paella fell short. You had to psych extra to have chorizo on it which it should come with it already. Wasn’t a traditional spain paella. Majority of my party thought the restaurant was ok, but we all agreed the sangria and wine were tasty. The servers was nice and every time they brought out a plate they explained what was on the dish. I would maybe go back for drinks only and possibly a small dish..
Fun, relaxed atmosphere with fantastic food and drinks- sangria is delicious and its a fun way to dine out - enjoying tapas.
